What aspects or planet placements in certain houses would indicate this? Whether it's verbal abuse, physical, and or watching someone be abused?

Could mars in the 4th indicate this?

Someone I know has an intercepted Pluto in the Fourth. It's square his Moon. Most of the abuse comes from his mother. They're both a part of a grand cross involved Saturn (opposite Pluto) and Venus (opposite Moon).

I actually did a (very) unofficial study relating to this and Moon square Mars topped the list. But any hard aspect to the luminaries from Mars and/or Pluto seemed to show up.

As for myself, I did grow up in that kind of environment and I have Moon in the 12th square Mars in the 4th. My 12th house is ruled by Mars as well.

I also have Sun square Pluto, and Saturn on the IC which I find can indicate restrictions of some kind growing up as well.

Thank you for your responses, I have moon square mars with moon in 1st and mars in 4th (equal house system) 5th house in default. So this is the aspect that signifies this in my life. My pluto is in my 5th house though and doesn't really make any hard aspects to anything but I do have moon trine pluto. I have saturn opposition sun also.

What's interesting to me is how intelligent and normal you folks seem, who endured the abuse!

I'm sorry anyone had to go through that.

I have Mars in Cancer opposite the ruler of my IC, Neptune, and I have a really combative relationship with my female relatives especially, I was raised by all females and many of them emotionally imbalanced and some genuinely psycho sometimes. I really dislike many of them and don't try to hold grudges but it's SO hard not to.

I grew up in an abusive environment, verbal and physical. My granny would instigate my father(who is a momma's boy) against my mother. They verbally fought. I got the beatings. My dad would hit me if I didn't study.

According to many, what I went through was normal. But for a kid like me(Uranus, chart ruler, conjunct Neptune in the 12th. Both trine Moon in the 8th. Pluto sextile Moon. Top that with a chart heavy in exaggerating Sag & lacking in air which equals logic) that was too much. But now when I look back, I understand that my extreme sensitivity created a mountain out of a mole.

I've Sag Mars(11H)square Virgo Moon(8H).

If you have Mars in the 4th alongside Pluto in the 4th it's virtually guaranteed.

Could any of the aspects mentioned also be common to sexual abuse? I witnessed abuse of one parent by a nasty grandmother who also drove my father to act in kind. Then I failed to be protected by the mother when I was subjected to sexual abuse by an outsider. I feel a more caring or less miserable parent may have been more vigilant.

I don't have Moon/Mars aspects but I wonder which of these following aspects are related to the abuse:
Moon square Saturn
Venus conjunct Saturn
Moon square Venus
Moon Opp Pluto
Mars semisquare Saturn
Saturn in 4th House
Mars in 3rd House

The Sun (Father) Opposite Uranus and both squaring Mars. Saturn in the 12th.

That would show a violent father who behaves inappropriately.

Venus (Mothers affection) Square to Jupiter/Neptune = she is not what she appears to be - escapist maybe....=neglectful mother.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sun Conjunct Saturn opposite Pluto
Father is a control freak and doesn't let the child be himself.
THIS is one of the most amazing things I will read on this subject.
SO, my (amazing) stellium of Mars, Mercury and Jupiter in Aqua in the 3rd (all close) opposed to, again close Uranus and all, once again closely squared to my Taurus moon in the 6th...
Is that a triple whammy or what?
Perhaps I should look into healing my Moon and not my Pisces sun, so much?
I have Sun square Uranus whilst Uranus is in the 12th, not Saturn. Perhaps this may be an indication of a violent father, however, he was never violent towards me.
I don't see any of the above stated patterns in my chart, but my childhood ran the gamut on abusive parenting. The closest negative aspects on my natal though are wide...
8° squares between Sun/Pluto - Sun/Mars.... if the sun is seen as the father-body, in some way, then it wouldn't really be incorrect or true either in my case.... the hard aspect in relation to my parents would however account for my step-father, who I reckon did more damage than my mind has cared to remember. I'm not at the point where I like to even think about digging up those scars. My moon has a huge 9° opposition with my Saturn (looking at the moon as mother figure I suppose), I don't know how or if that would factor into my mother's relationship with me as a child. Oh, she was a nasty one, but ask her today and she'll deny the whole thing. I think her negatives are very present in her natal, but they don't really show in mine. She was more so the verbal/psychological abusive type, whereas my stepfather was militant, and possibly perverted. I had abuse from friends, and cousins too... so much that I barely have any recollection of my formative years before I turned 9, and my father began to actively participate in my upbringing to some extent. But, in the chart I only have a few semisquares to the luminaries (like ~exact~ Venus IV/Mars III) and I only ever give them value if they are 1° or less? Should I be considering them even if they are wider? I have several quincunx planets to Chiron, and NN oppositions. But, overall my chart "seems" to not agree with my history of receiving abuse.
As for house placements, Mars/Pluto/Saturn III, Sun V, Moon IX... I don't have any idea how to figure the houses into the equation in my case... I just don't think my chart is indicative of my past... stars can't show everything all of the time though, aye?~
My heart is with everyone who has gone through a traumatic, abusive relationship~ with anyone, parents, lover, or others... just know you aren't alone, and when you are feeling that you're at the end of your rope, tie a knot.... hang in there, you can make it .
I grew up in an extremely abusive environment.One of my family members died due to constant abuse,they never told me the cause of death but I know it was due to abuse. I was 8 years old when that person died.I have also been involved in lot of verbal and physical fights with my parents.My father told me he would kill me during one of the brawls,it was a hardcore brawl.I have mars in 4th house square pluto,moon in 8th house trine mars,moon quincunx pluto,sun conjunct saturn conjunct mercury in 4th house square pluto,pluto in first house(read that people with this placement are born in abusive environment).
So sorry to hear of your abuse. How brave you are to be able to discuss this, as are the others who've talked of their trauma. My heart goes out to anyone who suffered at the hands of family instead of being loved and protected.
I see well cared for children everyday and wonder at their good fortune! It makes me want to cry.
Saturn is the father... not the Sun (that's your inner-self) - if the Sun is in 4'th and badly aspected... yes "you" have problems in that area of life (home)...
My orbs are so tight - close to being exact - however, not every single person in the world with these aspects goes through things.
According to Betty Lundsted's Book Astrological Insights into Personality - The sun shows how our physical father manifests when we are developing.
BOTH the Sun and Saturn show father figures.
I suggest you open up your mind and study this book from page to page and next time please stifle. I am not here to please you nor be a robot to what you want others to be, Just don't comment and agree to disagree.....
I've studied this stuff for twenty years - you?
