I would think 3rd house would be partly responsible.IP: Logged |

Wit is hard to quantify Sand. I would agree with 3rd house influence. Probably also how strong Mercury is in the chart, and finally, the Mercury based signs- Gemini and Virgo will probably play a role. Geminis would probably be better at verbal wit, and Virgos at written wit. Maybe some Jupiter influence thrown in somewhere too. And as we know: "Brevity is the soul of wit," according to Shakespeare. Sooo... Who is best at brevity? Probably earth and water signs along with people who have heavy Pluto. That's my guess anyway. Some of the air signs will be knocked out for that reason alone. *Points if you know what the word brevity means without looking it up.* IP: Logged |

Yeah, you should have, sand! I think 3H, 3H ruler interactions with Mars, Uranus, and obviously Merc.connections with Mars, Uranus. But I find 1H Uranus people to be very quick witted too! ------------------ I have a DO NOT DISTURB sign on my imagination IP: Logged |

People are always laughing at something I say.....(which I never understand because I am just being me!)I have a gem rising and lots of Sagittarius placements--but I think it's my mercury @ o degrees Capricorn that is so sarcastic: I just sit back and watch people then tell funny stories about it to people later. I LOVE a good story! Wit is a combination of observation and good timing.... IP: Logged |

Earth signs can be pretty sarcastic sometimes, and that can come across as witty...one of the wittiest people I knew had a Virgo Moon, Mercury in Aries, Taurus-Aries Sun. What cynical hoot! IP: Logged |

My eldest's awfully witty - Gemini Moon/Venus/Mars Stellium in the 11th and 9th house Aries Mars - in a quick, parrying sort of way. She's incredibly quick with rapport. My 5-year-old middle child is, too - a Saggie Asc with a Pisces Moon, Mars, and Uranus Stellium in the 3rd and a Gemini Merc - but in a more random, wacky way. Actual quote: Mom, don't worry - that's just fungi. FUN-KY, FUN-KY FUNNNNGIIIII! It's doin' a dance, but it's doin' it reeeaaal slooooowwww. ------------------ If I've included this sig, it's because I'm posting from a mobile device. Please excuse all outrageous typos and confusing auto-corrects. IP: Logged |

My dad can be extremely sarcastic, but in a funny way when he isn't being mean. He has a pretty good sense of humor despite his seriousness. He has Moon in Gemini and Mercury in 29 degrees Scorpio. My teacher is very witty and a great speaker, he often makes a lot of sarcastic quips that has everyone laughing. He is a Gemini Sun. One of the best I've ever met with jokes. I have a real knack for being sarcastic also, I love making people laugh at discomfortingly bad jokes too, hehe. I have a Sagittarius rising which contributes to the deadpan blunt humor, especially since Jupiter is sextile Uranus and in the 11th house. I have Saturn in my 3rd trine Mercury, but Merc is also square Mars, which I read above supposedly makes someone witty? IP: Logged |
