By "this" i'm referring to the one on Astro.com options as in:

...scroll down till this part:

- do they fit with what you know to be your dominant Planet?

what about the elements (fire, earth, air, water) and and qualities (cardinal, fixed, mutable)?

- shows even the sign power... and the Sun sign and Ascendant could fall behind other signs...

There are many systems to calculate planetary dominants
But from what i saw this is a fairly popular system ^^

My dominant is pluto
Pluto in scopio conjunct mars
Pluto sextile uranus
Pluto trine moon
Venus in scorpio

So yes im very pluto heavy

Also 4 planets in water+asc in water
And it says water dominant ^^

For me it fits fairly well

Yes, it says that my dominant planet is Venus, it's true. BUT as for signs it gives Capricorn as my second most powerful sign. Now give me a break! There's Neptune, Uranus and Saturn. These are generational. Ok, Neptune DOES aspect every planet and point in my chart, but it makes me more Piscean than Capricorn! There is no person who know me who would describe me as having Capricorn qualities.

How the heck they got Taurus my 4th most powerful sign if i have no planets in there? I know - Sun, Venus, Mercury are in my 2nd house, but i am VERY unearthed person. They say i fly above the ground because i can't stay grounded, i basically fly away... So no, i disagree. Leo should have been more powerful than just a third place.

fascinating. i learned some new things about my chart.

i always thought mercury would be my dominant planet but nope, jupiter is! mercury comes 2nd. i have saturn and venus tied for 3rd place.

my dominant element is air, which makes sense because i do have 6/10 planets and my rising sign in air. it said my 2nd element is fire which i can't really see how. i only have 1 fire sign: sagittarius neptune, but that's generational. granted, i do have a lot of planets in the 1st and 9th houses.

i'm pretty happy that my strongest influence is jupiter because the great benefic/expander blesses my chart LOL

It depends if I only use the planets:
Moon at 11.2 percent
Mercury 11.3 percent
Saturn 10.5 percent
Pluto 9.5

Sign wise:
Cancer 16.7
Gemini 15.1
Capricorn 12.5

Water 31.4 percent and Air 28.8 percent, Cardinal 37 percent and Fixed 33.9 percent.

If the basic asteroids are added my dominants switch rank:
Mercury 10.2
Moon 9.3
Pluto 8.7

Sign wise:
Cancer 17.2
Gemini 12.8
Leo 10.9, Scorpio 10.8, Capricorn 10.6

Water 33.4, air 25.4, Fixed 37.7 and Cardinal 35.4

So basically just take the averages of things.

As per "this", I've a dominant Pluto followed by Saturn and Uranus. Hmmm...I guess it's because Pluto and Saturn are Angular and Domicile. Uranus must be because it's the chart ruler. If not, then I'm lost. Moon makes the most aspects in my chart(4) followed by Mercury/Pluto/Saturn/Uranus at 3.

Sign wise : Capricorn, Scorpio and Sagittarius. I've 2 planets in Capricorn(both generational), 4 in Sagittarius(5 inclusive of the nnode) and 2 in Scorpio. Who taught them Math?

Element wise : Water, Earth and Fire. I would've agreed if Water and Fire occupied the same place or the like. I've 4 (planets + Chiron) in Earth, 2 in Water and 5 in Fire( planets + nnode). House wise it's 3 in Earth and Water houses and 2 in Fire and Air houses. Ughhh....

Mode wise : Fixed, Mutable and then Cardinal. This is unbelievable! I've all my personal planets( + Chiron + Nnode) in mutable signs and am VERY VERY VERY fickle and adaptable. Although my ascendant is in a fixed sign, it's ruler is in a mutable house tightly conjunct the mutable house ruler. Mercury/Jupiter, two mutable planets, aspect the ascendant. I leave my place saying I'm going to Australia but end up in Greenland. How they concluded this...I don't understand. Moreover, they've allowed wide orbits( 10 Degrees!) for out-of-sign aspects. The End.

I used this guide: http://www.proudphoenix.com/focalizers.html long ago to calculate mine and got same result... but was hopping there would be a software that can do that automatically - cause doing that step by step was kinda boring... ^^

If this works it's good enough for me. ^^

...depends which house, which planets and how powerful are in your chart.

That's "general" and it's about percentage ^^ ... maybe asteroids and nn/sn aren't taken in to account...

I agree with it. It says my strongest sign is Sagittarius, stronger than my Sun Sign, Aquarius (which is 2nd). My strongest planets are Mercury, Jupiter and Venus.

The astrological community is kinda divided about the Pullen thing...some insist it's off base and don't see how it comes to the conclusions it does.

It's easy if you just take a couple minutes to think it out - it just factors in the houses, too. So if you have a stellium in the eighth, Scorpio (and Pluto) are going to wind up in your top three, that kind of thing.

I personally feel it's accurate because it takes everything in the chart into account, as opposed to some other systems or methods that just focus on the sign your sun is in and any angular points, and insist those trump everything else, even if you have stellia in other signs, or planets that aren't angular, but have a ton of aspects.

But anyway, my strongest planet is Venus - it's from every possible source i've tried. And it really does correspond with me as all that matters to me is love. <3 I also love beauty, arts and that sort of things. I've checked charts of my friends - many of them also has Venus as their strongest planet!

Venus is also dominant for Taurus - and what you described above fits some of their interests (sensual, art and beauty lovers). ^^

===

...in my opinion - i think it's better to work with percentage than with ranks:

...for example in my chart - Gemini is on 6'th place but it covers 10.4% wile Libra is on 1'st and it covers 12.2%... if Libra was covering 32% and Gemini 6% - would have been understandable but all close values can be significant... what that table shows us it's that "there's a bit of every sign in all of us (some might miss a sign... it's possible) - how much, depends of each individual - because my values might be far from what you see in most charts - i have 7 close values and i can relate with all 7 of them - Virgo, Scorpio and Capricorn are my lowest 2x - 4x times lower than others and that shows to... yet enough to have some influence even from them...

- same goes for elements and qualities/modes - earth is indeed my weakest and same goes for water... i can be very emotional sometimes (having Cancer ASC and Moon as Dominant) but air and fire is more prominent even from that point of view - i can torment myself both mentally and emotionally - when a dear friend behaves in a way that "makes no sense" and doesn't want to talk about it... and from what i noticed - those with prominent water element in their chart "can sense that" easier without thinking much about it...

Thanks for the link ~ I like new goodies to play with.....
Donna Cunningham @ Sky Writer also has some fun tests (incl Chiron); it's a bit time intensive tho.

I did those as well a wile back (there was some topic around here about that) ^^ ...and that's just it - this kinda calculations should be covered by any astrological software that works with natal charts - it's just calculations and can take some time if done manually. I did it for myself - but working on other charts - in that time i could do more useful/interesting stuff than doing those calculations... ofc, once you've repeated this process for sometime you'd get the hang of it and spot things faster but still... ^^

...i go with the eclectic approach - and always wiling to try different options - whatever works best... it's mainly about better results, which is why i also like to know about people's experience with it... ^^

i tried out that link and it came out pretty obscure as plenty of my planets are prominent.

Venus: 2 (Mars, Pluto), stellium
Mars: 2 (Venus, Pluto), acc dig, angular, stellium (2)
Jupiter: 1 (Sun), dig, angular, stellium (2)
Saturn: chart ruler, acc dig, angular, cj sun, stellium (2)
Uranus: chart ruler, 1 (Moon), angular, cj sun, stellium (2)
Pluto: 2 (Venus, Mars), dig, acc dig, stellium

According to this system, all of my planets are prominent except Mercury and Neptune. Neptune is quite important, though, as it is part of a formation in my chart, as well as being a singleton earth and cardinal planet, and the ruler of my most prominent sign, Pisces.

The Pullen delineation I got Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars as being my most prominent planets.

I think Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, and Uranus are the planets I most closely identify with.
