I may have spelled the word wrong but that is the part of your brain that feels fear.

In sociopaths, that part is not very responsive. Hence, sociopaths do not have the level of fear of non sociopaths.

In my limited study of sociopaths, Jupiter is a planet which is a huge and often overlooked factor.

I wonder if your fear response may be related to Jupiter.

Every sociopath chart I have done had a Jupiter with many afflictions to it.

In some, Jupiter squared or opposed every planet but one. This was in two of the charts I looked at.

I know the chart is a complex animal, just as is a person, but wanted to throw this out for any of my Astrology buddies who want to weigh in.

As usual, it depends on the whole chart.

The new color chart at astro.com has Jupiter as my dominant planet. It's tightly square my sun, opposes Pluto, and is exactly sextile Mars.

But I am not a sociopath. Maybe that's because Jupiter trines Venus/Neptune and is conjunct Chiron. If anything, I fear too much.

Amygdala

well personally i think since it`s located in the brain i would say Moon may show where this is because it does deal with emotional reactions and all that jazz.

Mercury as well since memory is involved who better to remember then mercury.

Also your first house because it deals not only with appearences but the ram aka sign of Aries rules the head so strong aspected Moon or mercury and or Pluto in the first since pluto can also rule over fears as well.

In terms of the sociopath i do agree that Jupiter can over exaggerate fears...but then again if we show fear it can also show in our emotions since fear is an emotion i would go with Moon aspected to Jupiter for over exaggerating and Moon square pluto for being parnoid and hence maybe showing traits of fear.

I would even go as far as saying Moon aspecting chiron fears can create wounds and maybe with chiron in the mix it can create emotional fear.

Obviously Jupiter exaggerates/inflates so that would be the direction to take that planet when looking at a particular chart. Do you have any specific things you've found in these charts (?) the signs/aspects/placements of Jupiter.. Want to post the charts so we can have a look?
Donna Cunningham did a small series on this, here's a short article: Emotions, Thought Forms, and the Amygdala.
Couldn't find any specific rulership of the amygdala.
"Hence, sociopaths do not have the level of fear of non sociopaths."
---Yea, like they don't flinch when something falls next to them all of a sudden, creepy.
As to the fear issue, that's not Jupiter; Jupiter is morals, the theory behind the laws that govern society, indulgence, excess. Saturn is the go-to planet for fear. Pluto can inspire fear as well but it's deeper and blood-curdling, such as terror, and more encompassing, such as war, genocide. Pluto annihilates so that's its negative power. Saturn is self-limiting fear, negative beliefs, the fear that keeps one immobilized within the self, Saturn's negative power is in denying. I think the fear you're talking about is Saturn.. Saturn's fear keeps one in line with society but also limits the capacity for being true to themselves/their needs/desires.
Edited.
