What natal placements would make one be good at drawing or painting?

Mercury conjunct venus comes to mind instantly.

What placements would make one have a successful career in the artistic field?

Jupiter in 10th?

Uranus conjunct Venus

<- was tempted to go to art college at one time myself~

Or Jupiter and Mercury to Uranus/Venus ~ I suppose it all depends on the art you mean~~

musical talents I would think Mercury would be involved for sure... and 3rd house~

painting, manual arts I could see having a very Jupiter-Venus involvement~ 5th house/8th~? something that gets your fancy needs your passions too kinda' way~

or fashion~ I would definitely see the Sun and Venus having something to do with~ 1st-2nd house placements - probably 10th too~

more exotic arts~ likely have 12 house involvement~~~ Neptune/Pisces/Uranus~~~ (I'm thinking something like Dadaism!)~ <3

------------------------- just takin' a guess~ curious to know as was well!~

I think you want to look at Venus and water.

2nd and 7th houses are related to Venus-ruled signs. Taurus and Libra are Venus-ruled.

Water might be the most creative element.

I've always been musically talented. Venus conjunct Mercury and Neptune in the Libra-oriented 7th (Sag) (opposite Saturn). Venus sextile Pluto in Libra in the 5th.

I really think Pisces placements has something to do with it..not sure why. Maybe because of the intuition and fluidity of movement (steady, flowing hand)?

I have always been a gifted artist and so has my dad. We both have Mars in Pisces, mine is in the 5th house. Pisces is the strongest sign in my chart because my Jupiter is in Pisces and my Jupiter is the most aspected/strongest planet in my chart. I also have Neptune conjunct my Sun and Mercury.

One of my friends is a Pisces sun and he is the most talented artist I know.

Wow, that's great, Uranus-Neptune in Cap in the 10H! Good luck with your career, I'm sure it will be fantastic!

I think your Pisces moon helps, too. Frankie is right.

I was an art history minor and still draw a lot, but I don't know why, astrologically.

Gemini Mars (manual dexterity) and Pisces moon (poetic orientation) forming a hard square that seeks comfort in beauty? Mercury tightly sextile Venus as well...that might be it.

I just love colors. I've always been something like spiritually attuned to them.

Art has been hugely important to me. I love expressing my weird, intense thoughts through art and writing. I have the most vivid dreams like movies, and daydreams like movies too... only given body through screenplays or paintings. I love doing eccentric paintings and things very outside of the ordinary but still holding some realistic elements as well. I love modern sculpture too and I am considering that as a minor in college.

Scorpio Mercury in H11; Mercury square Mars; trine 3H Pisces Saturn
Scorp Venus conjunct Jupiter in H11; both sextile Neptune&Uranus, trine Saturn
Moon in Virgo trine Neptune+Uranus
Pluto in the 12th, dispositing Venus-Merc-Jupiter

I'm an art major. Always loved writing but I drew regularly as a kid as well.

I have Sun, Mercury, & Saturn in the 7th. (Venus is at the end of the 7th, close to the 8th house. I interpret it as being in the 8th.)
Moon trine Venus
Moon bi-quintile Neptune
Venus quincunx Jupiter
Sun conjunct Neptune
Mercury conjunct Neptune
Jupiter opposite Neptune
Saturn conjunct Neptune
Uranus conjunct Neptune
Jupiter in Cancer in the 12th
Pluto in Scorpio in the 5th

I know 3 people who are visual artists that have their Mars in Pisces and 1 who's artistic and into crafts with Mars in Pisces (her sun sign is also Pisces.)

Upon looking at the charts of other famous (and non-famous artists), I noticed Libra, Pisces, Leo, and sometimes Gemini placements being prominent as well as Venus being aspected by the Sun or Neptune.

Pisces, Pisces, Pisces.

Neptune, Neptune, Neptune.

And...to a lesser extent - Venus. Libra, Leo.

I am really good at drawing portraits and i love art itself. I am a Venusian person, it's by far the strongest planet in my chart.

Mercury conjunct Venus by a degree in Libra, in 2H, conjunct Sun by 5.
All this is squared by Neptune, lol.
But Mercury and Venus are also exactly sextiled by Moon in 11th, sextiled by Jupiter in 11th, and exactly trined by Mars in 10th.

Yes ma'am, Pisces moon and ascendant Thank you!
I would say yes about your moon-mars aspect, especially with your mars being in gemini Also, maybe you have strong placments with the creavity asteroids: http://tribes.tribe.net/asteroid_astrology/thread/05272527-f997-4cc2-9e2c-d9e12237a24f

I studied the violin at the music academy for 10 years, then went to art college 3 years, and acting classes for 3 more years.

I can draw, paint, make sculptures, play instruments, sing, act, write and take photographs.

I don't feel particularly blessed with any artistic talent, though. This is just what I enjoy doing most.

I have a mystic rectangle that includes Moon (in the 1rst house)/ Venus-Pluto conjunction (in the 6th House), Neptune (in the 7th) and Jupiter (in the 12th). And a Sun-Mercury conjunction in Scorpio trining my Saturn in Leo.

You're the best, Moonfish! Thanks very much.

So from that list I have:

Athene conjunct Venus exact
Minerva conjunct NN (1)
Erato conjunct Mercury exact
Ganesa conjunct Juno (1)

Pallas is close to my moon, and Brage might be on my ASC, but I don't have an exact birth time yet.

Still, Pallas is definitely in Pisces for me so:

quote:
Pallas in Pisces: If other chart factors agree, this placement of Pallas can make for a good artist, designer, or any work that requires imagination. The main drawback is that there is a tendency to dream instead of do.

Yes.

I'm always quoting one of my art professors who introduced me to another one at a gallery showing. She said, "Have you met 'Faith'? She does excellent work." And I just smiled and blushed. Then she added, "But come to think of it, she does poor work also. She's very inconsistent."

LOL. No drawing that I submitted would be poor, I would rather re-draw something fifty times than submit bad work, but I didn't always study for exams.

The same applies to everything I do, I have really excelled sometimes and been an absolute slug at other times, because I'm "busy" dreaming.

Darn you, Pallas!

'Having fun reading the other interpretations, but I'm done yammering about myself in public (for now.)

Thanks again!

Yes.

I too have Pallas in Pisces (conjunct Vesta). I totally relate to the "tendency to dream instead of do" part
