I used to be the second type, but over the last 3 years I have definitely become the first type! Moving on and up all the way I can..

Only Sea-goats and mountain goats...

one side being focused on achieving things of a material nature-

the other looking to achieve on a more spiritual level-

I think all goat suns are both~

- although we all have the Capricorn drive for success, and the same strength for perseverance, enduring hardships...

- the other side of us is always submerged in our emotions~ that goat suns don't often choose to flaunt, and that most guard against having those outside our closest relationships ever witness/be exposed to.

- I see this duality in all the signs, neither being more negative or positive, just those two energies that we all struggle to balance.

How often you get to see the other nature of a sign depends on those aspects in their chart, and the nature of the relationship you have with them (synastries, if you will), and the environment/mood the native is in at the time (transits/triggers), as well as the maturity and evolution of the native... (just a theory)

That said, I'm definitely not the typical mountain goat type of Capricorn,and have never related to that image so well as I have the fish-tailed goat~ <3

Aha! I've met the same 2 types.
One is my nephew, and one whom I observed a long time ago. They were born on the same date, January 15, 1997. The time is a TINSY TINY BIT away from each other.

My nephew was the really quiet type. He talked to people of course, but not one who makes the first approach. He is also active.(at times) He's in track he plays the discus. But also a gamer, apparently he doesn't do his homework at home and he doesn't study cause he doesn't need it, he's not the hardworker type but he does high dreams. He's.. A bit funny? He's deep also, but at times can be practical. He also lies a lot..
His appearance: BIG, 5'5" tall, fatty LOL, rectangle shaped head, big fat fingers, and a lonesome look on his face.

Then there's my ex-classmate. Let's call him "K"
He's the VERY active type, he plays basketball, he's in track(a fast runner), volleyball player- let's just say he plays a lot of sports. Most of the time he studies, and he is very open and direct. He sarcastic and is very funny, since he's not in my English class, I thought that it was boring without him, he's like a "sun". He's very kind and caring to girls. One time, he lent me his jacket because he saw I was shivering when we were playing soccer. He's honest, and says what he thinks. He's a hardworker, and he's disappointed whenever his grades didn't meet his expectations. He's practical when it comes to the matter of feelings or problems. Not suited for deep conversations.
Appearance: Built-body, 5'3" tall, well-shaped head, nice fingers although dimented cause he cracks it a lot, nice smile, has a bright look on his face, and sometimes he does a curious look at me.

1 - The extra conservative - "no one is good enough for me" snob.

2 - The very down-to-earth person .. "I can do anything and get along with anyone from all walks of life".

Type 2 is more rebellious and more sociable. They are also confident in their practical-physical ability to get things done and to stand on their own two feet.
Type 1 wants to be very perfectly proper & socially acceptable at all times. They are much less confident in a practical sense... usually having lived a sheltered life & can have expectations that others should do things for them.
