I have sun conjunct moon with somebody in synastry, its my first time having this, what has your experience been? is it as good as they say it is?

I have a conjunction with a close friend, and mind you the rest of our chart is pretty much squares (sun sq venus DW, venus sq mars DW, mars sq pluto, mars sq mars, etc.)

He and I always have friendly competition, it's never gotten out of hand, and surprisingly we never argue either. I believe our sun-moon is the cause. Plus, his mercury also trines my sun-mars-pluto
Despite the intense connection which can sometimes be overwhelming, I feel very comfortable being myself around him. He's the brother I've always wanted.
If the sun-moon wasn't in our synastry we'd probably be enemies, whos knows lol

Well it's a nice aspect but it seems more friendly than romantic to me... unless there's also some Venus/Mars action in the synastry.
You definitely feel like you can count on each other. There is mutual support and affection.
