If you have a natal planet debilitated or in its Fall, does a mutual reception involving that planet prove useful to it?Eg. I have mars in cancer but in mutual reception with moon in aries. Does this help my mars ? I also have mercury in pisces in mutual reception with jupiter in virgo. Does this help my mercury which is in its 'Fall' ? Are these debilitated planets able to acccess their blocked energies and work favourably because of Mutual Reception? IP: Logged |

I'm going to say maybe/kind of. The planets that are in mutual reception reinforce one another. They help to serve one another, kinda, but the Mars will still have issues being Mars-y. When you use your Moon, it's easy to use your Mars, and vice versa.IP: Logged |

A debilitated planet is only debilitated if someone is focusing on mundane astrology, and for an evolved individual who is seeking a soul centered reading a debilitated planet is actually exalted. A prime example of this is mercury in Sagittarius.IP: Logged |

^I personally don't think fall/detriment is debilitating. It just means the sign is an expression different to the planet's energy.Mercury in Gemini is always racing, there's always something the be learnt, gathered, and entertained. Mercury in Sagittarius is always racing too, but instead of chasing everything down, the chase is more after one thing at a time. Mercury in Gemini may flutter everywhere at once, but Mercury in Sagittarius finds a star and runs with that star in sight. IP: Logged |

I have one friend who has mars in libra and venus in scorpio...mutually receptive (classically) but also mutually debilitated. And she's still pretty damn lazy, and prone to pretty unevolved venusian expression. So I'm gonna say "no". Maybe, like another poster said, if you use the planet in mutual reception with the debilitated planet, that will help some.Just because a planet is debilitated doesn't mean it doesn't have any good qualities. But it does not function freely in said sign. It has problems expressing itself. Mercury in sagittarius overlooks small details and can be very dogmatic. It also doesn't think at all before it speaks. These are rather contrary to mercury's natural qualities exhibited in gemini and virgo. Of course, sadge's abilitiy to think big and get philosophical is a great, great quality of a saggie merc. I think mercury in the 9th house is a great place for mercury, for example. IP: Logged |

Well, my mars is in cancer in the 12th. So i assumed its debilitated or afflicted ? Is it? So is my moon in aries in the 9th.....helping it? ( lol.....but maybe my moon is not very strong either? Since its conjunct sun and some people call that a combust moon? ) IP: Logged |
