quote: Originally posted by Kerosene: ^ http://www.angelfire.com/sd/binah/bisexuality.html I found some interesting articles on sexuality and astrology here "The significator for bisexuality is written mercury/Desc. It fact it occurs as mercury, ruling either a 5th, 7th, or 8th house (I don't know why 8th is included in this significator but not in the other second parts), conjunct the Descendant, or mercury ruling a 5th, 7th or 8th house and made Angular by any one of the four Angles of the chart. Or, mercury in a 5th or 7th (8th?) house and made Angular by any of the four Angles of this method. The acceptable orb for mercury/Angle, again, is 4°, rather than the standard 2°, because these charts are un-rectified."
Please keep in mind that she uses a different methodology though than we usually do. For example the sidereal zodiac and using the Egyptian harmonics. You can`t simply transfer it to the tropical zodiac and only the natal chart.
Besides, I am not sure sexual orientation can even be seen in a chart. Some say Uranus might be a factor, but that is only true - if at all- in a society where homosexuality is NOT the norm. If it can be seen as all, check the 5th house, as this is the house of our "sexual style". But even that alone will not be enough. There is no simple Venus/Mars-distinction, as we all have Venus and Mars in our charts and experience and express them. As for bi-sexuality I have read that Mercury in relation to 5th house, ASC or Venus often plays a role. But again, I find this much too simplistic. The one thing that I have found in charts of homosexual people were dynamic aspects between the rulers of 5th and 11th house, ruler of 5th in 11th or ruler of 11th in 5th, or ruler of 5th aspecting Uranus dynamically. But actualyl these do not denote homosexuality per se, but just indicate that someones sexual expression might be considered "outside the norm" - they could also be celibate or promiscuous or any other kind of "out of the norm sexual behaviour".

I suppose, but that has nothing to do with detecting homosexuality in natives chart. Also an entirely different subject. You can look at the whole chart for that. How parents and family will react. People are less willing to come out if their not around supportive people. I know pholus aspecting the asc may cause someone to "come out" or reveal to others some hidden lifestyle. IP: Logged |

quote: Originally posted by Xiiro: I think it just comes down to the individual. Venus and Mars may attribute to femininity or masculinity, but I don't believe they determine the general attraction of specific gendered/sexually preferenced people. There just too many gay and lesbian people out there who are attracted to fem guys or butch women. In fact I know a few straight folks who have similar attractions. I haven never been a fan of Venus and Mars signifying anything other than "someone's values" and "someone's method of maintaining those values". If anything, it may indicate how our genders manifest and how we desire our partner's genders to fit with ours. For example, My Venus is in Scorpio and Mars is in Leo. These two signs are sort of extreme feminine and extreme masculine. I am generally attracted to women who have a Leonine brilliance and backbone, but a Scorpion concept of reality and a dark or edgy beauty. In men I seek very masculine guys with big, warm, hearts, and dynamic personalities, but I also want them to have a vulnerable side and a passionate sexuality which they exclusively share with me. I think the only "traditional" attraction I have is the desire to be the sexually dominant partner with women (for the most part) and the desire to be the sexually receptive partner with men (for the most part). I wonder if the roles are reversed for those with masculine Venus and feminine Mars, regardless of physical gender or preference. Preference-wise I consider myself a gay man with bi-attraction (similar to how straight women can find other women attractive, but not need to run off and get married). And I definitely see both Venus and Mars playing significant roles in my attractions to both genders.
Thankkkk yyyyouuuu. You seem to always answer my question with flying colors. IP: Logged |

I think it's worth keeping in mind that many gays (or even bisexuals) who have a twin, even an identical twin, find their twin is heterosexual. I recently read a theory on why that is though I didn't fully understand it, but in any case it would go to show that the natal chart can't be used to identify orientation. IP: Logged |

quote: In some instances, homosexuality, can be found with the planet of Mercury. When one person can natally have their Mercury square Uranus, Neptune or Pluto.Having a moon in Libra afflicted by Uranus can indicate homosexuality Bisexuality may sometimes be emphasized with trines or sextiles to Mars and Neptune.

I have no bad aspects to my Sun but my Gemini (known as the bisexual sign) Mars squares my Jupiter.. I do have a strong Venus since it's in Libra.Maybe its all my Mercury energy? I read in a book that for girls its Moon and Venus and for guys it's Sun and Mars that indicates homosexuality. IP: Logged | |
