What I remember reading about this placement was that I'm luckiest when I act like a Gemini (pretty general, thank Cafeastrology.com...) but I was wondering if this is actually a bad placement for Gemini, since Jupiter rules it's opposite sign Sagittarius. Is this placement the equivalent to Jupiter opp. Mercury?

I always have luck in June, when the sun is in Gemini. I have the most fun, get the most work done, etc.

I don't know if you already read it, but I found this on it:
http://www.alwaysastrology.com/jupiter-in-gemini.html

I find its description accurate....what's your experience?

Jupiter is said to be in detriment here and in its domain in Sagittarius. The influence might be weakened. It depends on the entire chart and whether Jupiter is angular and how it is aspected. Does it conjunct sensitive points like the ascendant or MC?

I have it in the 12th house (ruled by Taurus) and it's square my Pisces MC, which sounds just terrific! -_-

I just read Oocities.com description which said I have a huge ego, and I might have a large family that's a burden in some way. I do kind of have a big ego (that does nothing for me really) but what's weird is my family is very small - I'm an only child. My friend however is one of five children and she is always having to do things for them left and right without getting to focus on her and her goals! Weird!

I have a 12th house Jupiter square Cancer MC from the Asc and I am an only child as well. Jupiter is in Libra.

Interesting! How does Jupiter really work? I mean if I think "Oh great Jupiter Gods rain down on me, where art thou?" and act all Gemini-ish, does that mean I'll be lucky in that instant... or does it apply more towards bigger life events?

As far as luck goes - when I tend to do things without thinking and hope for the best, it usually works out. I get a LOT of free food for some reason (and free food is the last thing I need.) I also feel like Jupiter has saved me from having severe car crashes (like we were thisclose and should have crashed but somehow didn't.) but that's it. I don't know when it's working in my favor unless it falls under those three topics. I guess with Jupiter in the 12th we're not really supposed to know when it works, yeah?

Jupiter gives an opportunity to be really happy in life with what you have. That's what I have discovered about it being in 12th but it is about to rise in my chart. It is less than 1 degree from rising but I still think it's officially in house number 12 and considering how introspective and quiet I am, and how I like to listen to a lot of music on the IPOD for hours on end to escape, it is most likely a 12 house Jupiter most the time! I admit I find a lot of joy with it at different times. Euphoria and it's when I listen to music and think about the universe and God. I can feel this mind expansion when I think about what it is to be human and to have some perception and consciousness about what it means to be alive. I get into the really deep stuff.

I also had a car wreck once and was barely injured when the car was indeed totaled. People told me I had a guardian angel. Went to the ER, got rayed, and all they came up with was this tiny cut on my head which took about four stitches and that was the extent of it.

I keep hoping one day I will win the lottery with this Jupe. What about you?

Haha, I do too! But then again I think anybody hopes to win the lottery so I never attributed that desire to a 12th house Jupiter. I do imagine all the charity work I would like to do if I had an ungodly amount of money though.

I can relate to your love of music! I do believe there's a spiritual overhead with us whom I call "God," but I envision it to be different than the traditional Christian meaning, at least in some places. I don't often think about religion though I do seem to experience a LOT of coincidences. It's only rare that I understand their meaning however, so I'm not sure what good they are.

I've got Jupiter in Gemini with a Sagittarius ASC and Gemini Venus. I'm a very adaptable person a jill of all trades sorta speak. I don't agree with the assumption that Jupiter is detriment in Gemini. It just manifests differently but it is not sub par by any means.

Also I have this urge to learn new things and be intellectually stimulated constantly. That is why I read all the time and have a boyfriend with Gemini Mars and a Taurus Sun in the 3rd house.

I don't know if God exists. I just like thinking about how it's so cool to have consciousness and to be able to contemplate the universe and have some perception concerning its vastness and that we inhabit one planet and it revolves around the sun. That kind of thinking makes me feel so...I don't know...it is the same feeling when riding a roller coaster. I guess that is what is meant by expanding the consciousness and this 12th house Jupiter helps with that kind of stuff.

It also is supposed to make us lucky. Not really wanting to win the lottery but lucky enough to win it if we enter...or so certain astrological sources convey. I have yet to win anything larger than the $3 powerball though. If I won, I would give a lot of it away to help others.

I could see that. So would everyone agree Jupiter in the 12th is sort of a selfless placement? One would think Jupiter is at home in the 12th anyway since it's co-ruler is Pisces. My 12th is ruled by Taurus and OH - I just had an epiphany...

The other day I was asking about Cancer ruling my 2H and how I didn't understand it. I think I do now... since I have Taurus ruling my 12H with Jupiter in there, and Cancer in Taurus' natural house (2H) ...is this why I spend when I am upset? Oh, I should probably mention I have Chiron in Cancer in the 2H, that would probably make more sense.

Yep, Jupiter is supposed to be strong in the twelfth. It's accidentally dignified.
