The aspects + placements that I have in my natal and I believe have to do with being secretive, are these:

Sun in the 8th
Mars in the 12th (and Sun trine Mars)

My Mars is in Gemini!
Yeah, generally I'm very sociable and open in my life. I'm open-minded and willing to try different things or learn new stuff.

I am secretive with my personal life, because I have the feeling that people will betray me. Let me explain that: for instance right now I'm casually seeing a guy, but it's nothing serious, only a few close friends know about this, because we have many common aquintances so I couldn't stand any gossip behind our backs, since it's nothing serious yet.

I also don't like to share anything that is going to happen in the future but is not 100% sure, because I believe that other people, will jinx me and in the end it won't happen.

I also like to search things beneath the surface when I believe someone is lying to me. If I suspect someone is lying to me, I will play it cool, and then examine all the details to hit a conclusion without telling thmand later confront them, when I'm sure.

If you have any aspects in mind that you believe make someone secretive I could check my natal to see if I have them

A dear friend of mine has Mars in Gemini. He's not 100% sure of his birth time, just knows it was morning-ish, maybe early afternoon at latest. A 12th house mars could fit his time frame.

Mars opp neptune and semi-square Leo sun.

I was also kind of wondering if Mars in the 8th wouldn't do this as well? Or Venus in the 2nd, 8th, or 12th?

My Mars makes these aspects:
Mars trine Sun
Mars trine Saturn
Mars trine N.Node
Mars square Midheaven

Hmm, I'm not so sure of the effect of the 8th house and other planets

I was kind of thinking more along these lines for this specific situation. I think a scorpio asc suits much better than cancer in my friend's case. And that falls in with Venus ruled 12th house sign. Hmm

I wish I had a narrower time-frame for his birth time because it seems both circumstance could fit him :/ I just REALLY don't see the cancer in him... anywhere.
