So in a way a very long shot of a way, it's akin to have a direct Moon/Jupiter aspect. Since I believe women act like their moon signs then this could be one reason. But you also have Mars in Sagittarius, which is a simpler explanation too. Basically, all of what you wrote is a lot of "SAG" energy in your chart, and it's stronger since it's your Sun and Moon affected someway/somehow by Jupiter.

That's very interesting. I always thought of my moon as being more Plutonian because my moon trines Pluto and it's in the 8th house, but I do know that I have a lot of Sag energy in my chart... I have a Sag stellium. 2 out of the 3 planets in Sag are outer planets, though.

Thanks, hannarama!

You're welcome

As a side note, Pluto = magnets. So, if it's in the 8th house (which the 8th is Pluto's "home" so to speak thus stronger) you would draw in that jupiter energy more. First, it's up between Pisces and Jupiter, but your Mars in Sag narrows that down to Sags.

I can vouch for this.

What does a Scorpio Moon need in order to be emotionally fulfilled?

My moon is in Scorpio and I cannot have "neutral " moments for too long without feeling itchy, I must admit.

You know, I'm actually not sure. I attract more Pisces, or Cancers moons. I like Scorpio moons and am attracted to them but a true bond is rarely formed. I think they need honesty, and humor? Just guesses though.

Sex is really good for me. I lose myself and find myself again during sex. I feel like a shed my shell of whatever I'm feeling, whether it's anxiety, frustration, anger, regret.

Personally, I feel I embody all of my Sun, Moon, and Asc. They are all part of me… but at different layers.

I’ll get to the Asc later, but for now I’ll compare how the Sun and the Moon operate, and how they are both part of our ‘personality’.

For instance… A Scorpio Moon can be just as emotional and intense as a Scorpio Sun. It would be part of their nature but at a different level… With a Scorpio Sun, the Scorpionic intensity would be part of their ego identity, how they see themselves, and their purpose in the would. The Sun is about our sense of individual identity, our mission in life, and the hero of our story. For a Scorpio Sun, mastering an in-depth understanding of people and situations, and learning how to influence these with purpose (hopefully with good purpose), would be part of their ‘mission’ in life… It’s what makes them feel alive, as if they are being the hero or heroine they always wanted to be. A Scorpio Sun would be about mastering Scorpionic abilities with the intention to move forward in life.

A Scorpio Moon would process their feelings in a Scorpionic type of way. The Moon is the most private part of our nature and where we seek refuge and security. The Moon is our inner child, and is less intentional and purposeful then the Sun. The Sun is our mission, and how we act out our hero’s role. We take decisive action based on our Sun. The Moon is how we respond to what goes on around us on an emotional level. Action based on our Moon is more instinctive and less rational. When a child runs and hides behind their mother’s skirt, this is a lunar type action. When a child climbs to the top of the Jungle Jim because they want to feel proud of themselves, this is a solar action. Our Moon is the sensitive little baby inside all of us that needs to be nurtured, and to feel safe. A Scorpio Moon would respond to their environment in a very perceptive and emotionally driven, yet controlled way, quickly learning what is safe to express and what needs to be censored. In order to feel safe and secure a Scorpio Moon would need privacy, and all or nothing loyalty from loved ones.

Both the Scorpio Sun and Moon would have the personality characteristics involving a perceptive and emotional nature… Only the focus is different… A Scorpio Sun is learning how to be a hero in a Scorpionic way, using their perceptiveness, strategic abilities, and emotional intensity to navigate through life. A Scorpio Moon immerses themselves in their intense emotional, and perceptive side, as a way of seeking security, and refuge from the world. Their inner child is nurtured by privacy, loyalty, intimacy, and knowing the real truth behind facades. Both Scorpio Sun and Moon will have similar characteristics in a general sense, but the way these characteristics are utilized are different for each. The Moon is the inner child looking for security and safety. The Sun is the inner hero fulfilling their purpose, and achieving glory.

The Sun is our inner lead role in life. It’s the core of who we are, and who we feel we are truly meant to be at our heart of hearts. Even a very quiet Aries Sun, with everything else in Pisces, would at their heart of hearts feel that they really are a fiery person. The Sun is our sense of identity. I’m a Capricorn Sun and at my core I feel that my true identity is that of a Capricorn. All the rest of my chart consists of tools that I can use to achieve my ‘Capricorn’ purpose in life. The Sun sign is usually who we feel we really are.

The Moon is our instinctive inner child, and is our emotional foundation. When the ego of our Sun has been humiliated, we often ‘become’ our Moon signs… Similar to the way a hurt child runs to Mommy and cries. We respond to life in the style of our Moon. My Moon is in Cancer, and I’ve noticed that when times get tough I tend to withdraw, and go into shell much the way that a crab does. I have extremely sensitive emotional antennas that I use to survey my environment to make sure that it’s safe. If I sense danger I retract. My Cancerian Moon is like my safety net for dealing with life, and where I go to when I need to retreat.

Now for the Asc…

Someone said earlier that the Asc is our ‘personality’. This is partly true. The Asc is the SURFACE part of our personality. It’s our social mask, and the way we initially approach issues in our lives. It also governs our outlook on the world, and our immediate environment. The Asc is like a filter. Everything that goes into and out of our psyche goes though the Asc. We process all the information going in and out in the style of our Asc sign.

The Asc rules our style of outward presentation… Our mannerisms, our body language, our speech, our facial expressions, our general appearance, and the ‘vibe’ we project toward others. As a filter (which monitors both incoming and out coming information), the Asc also has to with our perception of the outside world, and what’s worth paying attention to in our immediate environment. The Asc may be surface of our personality but it is not fake. It’s is our natural, spontaneous initial response to things… It’s like our mechanism for coping with the outside world, and is a part of the structure of our psyche.

The Asc the part of our personality that liaises between our inner psyche and the outside world. It’s our unique point of view, and how we make our individual ’stamp’ in our environment. The Asc, like the type of clothes we choose to wear, reveals how on a surface level we are distinctive and individual… Like our banner or slogan… Our outer style of self expression is strongly influenced by the sign on our Asc, and planets in the 1st house. It’s the part of our nature that we parade before the world. Often, in the beginning stages of a relationship, we have to pass through people’s Asc before we can access their Sun or Moon.

For instance, going back to the Scorpio examples… A Scorpio Asc would probably move at a slow and steady pace, they may have a penetrating gaze, and a tendency to make perceptive, spot-on statements. With their physical presence they may emanate a vibe of strength and purpose, and would seem to be the type of person that is a ‘watcher’, observing carefully what is going on in their environment. The type of things that a Scorpio Asc would first notice in their immediate environment is ‘social undercurrents‘. They would quickly perceive who has the most power in a certain situation, and who is able to ‘pull the strings’ to get events flowing in the desired direction. A Scorpio Asc may appear guarded when we meet them initially, but once they have figured us out they start showing us other parts of their personality… Like maybe a rational, and easygoing Libra Sun, and a happy-go-lucky Sag Moon. And in the beginning we thought they were so serious? The Asc is our first response to events and people, and once we have processed them though our Asc, other parts of our psyche start coming out into the open. Our Asc is like the lid to our personal cookie jar! It has to be opened first, before the rest of our goodies come out.

In my case, I’ve got a Capricorn Sun and a Cancer Moon, but a Sagittarius Asc. Because my Sun and Moon are both in feminine signs, I’m pretty quiet most of the time. How my Sagittarius affects my demeanor that that I’m usually pretty cheerful, enthusiastic and positive. You probably wouldn’t meet my grumpy side unless you hung around me for a while. In the beginning I’m always encouraging and easygoing, and come across generally as sweet and nice (I’ve got Venus in Sag in the 1st house). To get past my ‘happy, nice girl’ persona to the deeper parts of me, you’d need to put in some time. My 8th house Cancer Moon is probably that last thing I’m willing to reveal, although it does seep out unconsciously sometimes.

There are other planets in Sag in my chart… Mercury, Venus, and Neptune, so Sag energy runs across the board throughout my whole personality, maybe more so then with the typical Sag Asc. In general I am pretty positive, intellectual, and idealistic… But I can also see how I use my Sag Asc as like my diplomat for the outside world. For a person that has nothing else in their charts in the same sign as their Asc, the difference between their initial outer demeanor and their inner reality might be quite dramatic.

My Sag Asc, Capricorn Sun and Cancer Moon are all part of my whole ‘personality’. They just represent different LEVELS of my psyche.

The Asc is our outer temperament, and social mask. The Sun is our sense of identity, purpose, and the hero or heroine we truly feel we are on the inside. And, the Moon is our vulnerable inner child, that needs security and love.
