I know people born in the southern Hemisphere, their sun signs are Aquarius, Leo and 2 Scorpios. You could pick them out of a crowd by judging them on their sun signs alone.

Although, that's their northern hemisphere signs. In the south, they would be Leo, Aquarius and Taurus. Which is not them at all.

So how does it work?

Western Astrology is based on Seasons and not the constellations(Vedic astrology). Why come these people fall under Northern signs and not southern.

I didnt really understand what you are trying to say but Western Astrology signs differ with Vedic Astrology signs by 23 degrees.It does not matter where they are born,if the person is an aquarius sun in western astrology with degree less than 23 then he will be capricorn sun in vedic,if his aquarius sun sign in western astrology is greater than 23 degrees then he will be aquarius sun in vedic astrology as well.

It does matter where they were born, well according to western astrology it does.

No you're wrong Vedic astrology uses fixed constellations. If you're using Vedic astrology that will always be your sign.
They are both completely separate systems

So why are my friends appearing to be showing different signs? They are showing the opposite of what they were born under!

I even look at celebs born in Southern Hemisphere, and they all appear to play out their opposite sign?

Is Nicole Kidman Gemini or Sagittarius? What do you think.

Sure!

Noe that you've mentioned it,Nicole does have Sag body (although I don't doubt she's Scorp rising) - Sag body in caucasians,very pale people is very specific,think Anne H or Cate B.
