I asked this question on another thread and thought it might be good to ask everyone: do you think having planets in fall or detriment is to serve a karmic lesson and or serve another spirtual purpose?IP: Logged |

So in following that logic, the more challenging a chart looks would that mean there is a pressure on that person to learn their lessons, etc because they have been doing it for so long or maybe they have not yet begun to try? Basically I'm wondering how you can learn about someone's past life (or spirtual contract if you don't necessarily believe in past lives)based on the birth chart. I'm going to do some research and see what I find.IP: Logged |

Yes and No, immediately when I think of Karma I think of Jupiter, Saturn, and the North Node/South Node. But you could have a exalted planet but if it doesn't make any other connections with other parts of your natal chart it may not be prevalent . Plus you have to include the degrees of the planets : Sun: 19th degree of Aries (i.e., 18°00' - 18°59') Moon: 3rd degree of Taurus Mercury: 15th degree of Virgo Venus: 27th degree of Pisces Mars: 28th degree of Capricorn Jupiter: 5th degree of Cancer Saturn: 21st degree of Libra Are exalted signs and degrees. But asides from that Jupiter 12 yrs and Saturn 29.5 yrs having orbits different from the inner planets and outer planets. There's the mythology heavy weights so to speak, usually the King of all gods represents Jupiter and Saturn "The father of the gods". I wouldn't necessarily say a more challenging chart would mean there's a pressure for that person to learn those lessons. Perhaps that person is a extremely old soul or even a young old. IP: Logged |

You can check what phase of the moon someone was born under just by looking at their chart in relation to their sun. For example, if someone hs an Aries sun and Cancer moon, they'll have been born under a waxing quarter moon (that looks like half the moon is missing). If an Aries sun has a Libra moon, it'l be a full moon; Aries sun and Cap moon will be a waning quarter moon, etc..

So, a person with exalted planets is getting rewarded? IP: Logged |

I wouldn't necessarily say the word "rewarded" because were discussing western astrology not vedic. Exalted planets are in the best position for that planet to be in even more so when it positively aspects other parts of the chart. IP: Logged |

I don't think so. I have retro planets and I also have two planets in detriment. We can't knowingly choose when we are born. Sure, when a fetus is ready it sends signals and triggers hormones, etc. But what about those of us who were c-section'd outta the womb in a jiffy because mom was dying? How could I be given bad karma before I even take my first breath? Was I am evil little turd in the womb? My astrology didn't matter because I wasn't allowed my own free will, know what I mean? So at what point do we decide that astrology does not dictate our every move. At what point do we decide some things are just coincidence, bad luck, or karma? ------------------ "Most people would rather be sheep and have company than stand out on their own with antlers on." — Tori Amos IP: Logged |

I found a description about being born under a first quarter moon and actually, it's pretty darn accurate for me. "The First Quarter Moon rises at noon and sets at around midnight. People born under this phase of the moon are masters at handling crisis and do well when springing to action during emergencies. They are highly capable of making immediate critical decisions and then acting upon them. These are the pioneers of this world and they will probably unintentionally create conflict all around them while challenging anyone in their path. These are very ambitious and self-motivated people who are armed with a strong desire to achieve." http://voices.yahoo.com/the-significance-moon-phases-birth-541017.html ------------------ "Most people would rather be sheep and have company than stand out on their own with antlers on." — Tori Amos IP: Logged |

Well I was actually thinking it might not be bad karma but actually.....older karma? Like okay dude time to take care of these patterns! But honestly, I really am over my head here. But I'm so curious!

Nope, because Saturn is karma. IP: Logged |
