Flashes of intuition. Instant comprehension. Unconventional thought process. Eccentric. Thinking outside the box. Brainstorms. Independent mind. Original thinkers. A mind for technology. Avant-garde concepts. Alien mind. Alien education. Extraterrestrial intelligence. Telling the truth. Shocking communication. Shocking language. Saying things simply for shock value. Short attention span. The mind of an astrologer. Astrological thinking. Unstable mind. Rebellious thoughts.

CRAZY. LOONY. INSANE.

I have the square.

Mercury square Uranus as a natal aspect:

You possess a quick mind, you are very intuitive, and you require a great deal of mental stimulation to keep from feeling bored. Preferring to be self-directed, you don't always take advice easily. There is a part of you that loves to shock, challenge, and instigate with the things you say; however, this may not be a conscious process. Your mental energy and output is extremely variable--one day you might be capable of enormous effort and interest in a project, and the next day the opposite. This is largely due to the fact that you feel a strong need to be true to your instincts and intuition, and if you are not absolutely inspired, you don't feel right working on a project--you might feel that you are "faking" it, and this doesn't sit well for you. The problem is that in life there are always going to be routine tasks to complete, things we have to do that don't entirely suit our interests, and so forth. School years may be challenging as a result of your disdain for a linear approach to learning, routine tasks, and subjects that don't inspire you, not because of any lack of mental ability. In fact, you can have real flashes of genius and your ideas and perspectives are often very original. At times you can be very dogmatic. You have a tendency to be, or to appear to be, scatterbrained. Your attention span can be short, and as a result, you might often leave projects unfinished. At times you can have an irritable temper and need to channel some of your nervous energy into constructive pursuits. Take time to reflect on what you truly believe in, because many times you are too busy challenging established thought, or playing devil's advocate, to get in touch with your own opinions and feelings. This way, your intelligence, integrity, and ingenuity can come shining through.

I just learned that Lady Gaga also has the square!

What's yours?

My bf has this placement...a lot of wth moments with him lol. He does like to light that spark to instigate a conversation about things he's not able to express comfortably, especially emotional matters but once that gate is open he is all a gush. Lol. Sometimes I want to punch him in the face but even though he thinks he's being straight forward, he is speaking to me in fifty shades of gray when I am extremely black & white but eventually he makes his point.

i can't make this post without sounding obnoxious. but if i bring my orbs down to 1%, merc trine uranus in fire is the only aspect left standing.

Mercury Trine Uranus: You're intuitive, brilliant, inventive, mentally dexterous and self-reliant. You have an excellent memory, a humanitarian outlook, a sense of drama and writing and speaking talent. You may appear stupid due to your single-mindedness and/or be impatient with those who are not as quick-witted. You have an excellent ability to communicate ideas. You're not dogmatic or orthodox and won't accept an idea just because it's popular. You're a trend breaker and a trendsetter and are far ahead of the times in your comprehension of life. This aspect denotes an advanced soul. You're unique, enterprising and progressive and have a natural understanding of subtle energy forces. You have a natural tendency to tune into the Universal Mind, gaining intuitive flashes of insight.

not sure i agree with all of that, a dubious source aswell, but that bit in bold? like a mofo. i know i come off trite as hell on here lol. i think the libra asc comes off as air heady, irl, too. add to that an irreverent aries moon and, well... i know how it looks. :/
also - my short term memory is practically non existent. notepads are my friend. long term is excellent though and i ALWAYS remember the stuff that matters.

I have Uranus square Mercury and mostly find people have a hard time keeping up with what I'm thinking/saying.

Tried to learn 3 languages at once this summer, and how to do SEO and Astrology all the while in college.

Like playing a game:

"Tell me something I don't know"

You tell someone some bizarre trivia and they try to tell you some and you trade back and forth.

It's fun right? Though sometimes I wish I had the easy aspect. I tend to be scatterbrained, probably because of my Mercury in Pisces. Ack.

Uh-huh. OVERDOSE! Definitely agree.
Flashes of ingenuity--CHECK!
And Mercury quintile Neptune + Sun sq Neptune + Mars conj. Neptune= SUPER VIVID IMAGINATION!

I was often commented at how expressive and fast I am when I talk..like I can't wait to finish whatever I want to say. They were also amused at how I repeatedly flick my fingers during conversation. It's a habit I do when I want to remember something. Sometimes they imitate me. -_-

Soulstress I would like to add that people often tell me I have the "mad-scientist" eyes

I have the square too.

* I think the square is very strengthening and stimulating, as nothing keeps the mind alive as a good mental challenge ... the square provides a great deal of that.

Mercury Quintile or Bi-Quintile Uranus

You have an unusually creative mind, and you need outlets for your open-minded approach to life. You tend to be successful in an environment where products or services are being developed or ingenuity is required. You adapt well to new ideas and you are able to identify potential in a new idea while others may overlook it because it does not fit into their preconceived notions. You have an ability to enjoy clever ideas, whether they are new gadgets, or technology, a fresh approach in arts or music, or any other area, without being burdened by your personal responsibilities. While others have excuses, like not having enough available time to learn something new, you avail yourself of the opportunity to experience new things.

I enjoy how my mind works, not sure if it's my Aquarius mercury square Scorpio Uranus or what.

All I know is, my brainstorms are very fun, and when I write down my thoughts, I can go back later and be impressed. I'm even impressed with stuff I wrote in junior high.

Saturn opposing my Mercury makes me dull and pedantic sometimes, however. It's not like I am a non-stop creative Wonder. I just get those lightning bolts.

My mother has Uranus in Scorpio in the 5th square Mercury in Leo in the 2nd. Mercury is conjunct Saturn.

As you can imagine, the extreme differences between these two aspects, coupled with her Mercury falling in the sign of Leo, has made her just short of bipolar. She's been histrionic since I was a child. She's also always had very eccentric thoughts she finds amusing or hilarious and 1/2 the time no one else does [because it's so weird it makes you uncomfortable, not because it's just a bad joke]. Then on the other 1/2 she's clinically depressed.

Her mental disorders are very severe... she's even admitted to it since despite the insanity the Saturn influence does give her some scope of reality just as I have the same, Mercury trine Saturn [I inherited it from her, thankfully my Merc is not as bad]. For me personally, a Merc Scorpio person, I just can't stand the way she thinks and communicates. It drives me INSANE!

I have Mercury contraparallel Uranus - and it does happen from time to time, out of the blue I just 'know' certain things - usually involving people around me, that they never told me themselves. The whole concept of sudden bright ideas and epiphanies seems to happen to me fairly often too which is probably in line with that aspect, although it could be blamed on the fact that Uranus is my chart ruler, and angular...

Mercury sextile Uranus.

quote:
A quick thinker, you’re superb at promptly identifying innovations and opportunities that facilitate learning, networking, and the lightning-fast transmission of information. Your mind works so fast that neither your hands nor your feet can keep up with it.

You’re a forward thinker who sees possibilities long before anyone else. You like to tinker around and experiment with things. You get hints of ideas in an intuitive way, and then work with them until they play out. Flashes of inspiration provide you with visions but not plans; this is where your knack for understanding the intricacies of things comes in handy.

Your most valuable learning is self-directed rather than in a rigid educational institution, but sciences, computers, and technology in general appeal to you so you may find yourself in a formal learning situation, at least for a while. When following your own learning path, one thing of interest naturally leads to another, and you will tend to have an eclectic but interlocking set of knowledge skills.

Brainstorming is one of your strengths, increasing your value at work. Your solutions for logistical problems are unusual but workable.

http://www.theastrologer.com/dailyinsights/2012/01/28/mercury-sextile-uranus-pr ogressive-ideas/

quote:
A sextile formed between Mercury and Uranus suggests that your intellectual abilities are well above average. You are alert, curious, and well-read on many subjects. You have an easy and clever way with words. This may allow you to succeed as a teacher because you are willing to share your knowledge. You are very progressive in your thinking and inventive in your ideas. Your mind is constantly in motion, thinking for yourself in a very independent manner. Logical reasoning goes on in the subconscious mind and solutions come to you in a flash.

http://astrology-numerology.com/aspects-mercury.html

This is eerily accurate. And I might as well roll with the self-congratulatory trend and say: yes, I am indeed incredibly intelligent. (And particularly susceptible to wordplay.)

Whoa Mercury in AQUARIUS square URANUS!
How's your mental health?

I find Aquarius Mercury people very interesting to talk to.

When I also get those flashes, I immediately write it and just let it flow. I just type as fast as I could and then when I'm done, I'd be like, "Oh, this is what I've come up with?" lol. It's fun.
