Another common issue with Astrology and Synastry is that signs that are TRINE are considered the best for each other.
His Sun in Capricorn and your Sun in Virgo are considered TRINE, and Her Sun in Libra in aspect to his Capricorn Sun is considered SQUARE.

When studying Astrology, you hear all this bad nasty stuff about squares, but you have to consider the planets involved with the square. When the Suns are in square aspect, it can still be workable, as long as the Moon, Venus, Mars, Rising signs and other planets and houses are in sync. Not to mention, Square signs have a MODALITY in common. Capricorn and Libra, while their elements of Earth and Air (resp) are at odds, they are both CARDINAL. They have lessons to learn from each other. Trines are lauded as the best aspect to have in a relationship because it is "harmonious". But because it is so harmonious, it can make things TOO easy, too flowing, and you learn nothing and at worse, take your comfort with each other for granted. Your Venus in Cancer is traditionally in OPPOSITION to his Sun and Venus in Capricorn. The opposition, right along with the square, is considered disharmonious and "bad". But again, Sun and Venus are involved, these are not considered difficult planets, and therefore the opposition is workable.

There is no synastry chart to read but to be honest, you had as much of a chance with him as she did, since she has a Virgo planet. Try not to go by Sun signs when doing synastry. It can be highly inaccurate at times.

While Virgo and Capricorn are both Earth signs, in Trine aspect, but I have known Virgos and Capricorns who can't stand each other. Likewise, I am a Leo, Aries and Sagittarius are trine to my sign. I like them as companions or acquaintances, but my romantic relationships with them were terrible.
