I'm a Capricorn with a Grand Water Trine. They say Earth people, especially Capricorns, never fly by the whim of their emotions. This is not true for me. If I don't feel it, I don't do it. I'm a very emotional person, very sensitive. IP: Logged |

I am a Virgo sun but I have more fire than earth in my natal, followed by water with very little air. So I am grounded but VERY emotional & sensitive. I think earth signs with lots of fire or water elements have a difficult time because we are more likely to get the earth scorched or flooded with all of that power. (I am making a visual point, sorry for being cheesy). In contrast, an Aries or Leo sun may be able to control those strong elements a little easier than we can. I think an Aries woman with lots of earth element would simply throw a little dirt on the fire without totally smothering the flame. Make sense? As far as the grand trines... this is an area I am just diving into so I can't comment on your aspect specifically. But I feel ya... earth people aren't always cool & collected. ------------------ "Most people would rather be sheep and have company than stand out on their own with antlers on." — Tori Amos IP: Logged |

I'm starting to think that Earth signs are terribly misunderstood. Excluding Taurus. IP: Logged |

Hey goatcat!Surprisly i'm a capricorn sun with a water grand trine too Now this is just my personal opinion so it could totally be X-ed out, but... I think we have a very creative intuition skill (we need to find it) because your more inclined to have a hidden talent to give to the world, or maybe we do without knowing it Grand trines also give us a lucky streak like have the ability to "catch a break" more than others, and i believe that could've been brought from our past life of hard work and worse tribulation than this life, like maybe we even did really good deeds in our past life. If your sun makes opposite or a square aspect to the north node, i'd think, that would highlight the grand trine and shadow the sun alittle. But i think the grand trine is just part of your wonderful personality, its not a taker of a planet i think it adds, especially a strong personal sun planet like capricorn! -------------------------- Neptunian

I've got a Virgo sun, but with a fire grand trine (and with more planets in fire than in earth), so I feel like my grand trine CAN outshine my sun. To be honest, I think that I tend to pull out my fire side more when I want to impress others or to have a good time than anything else. Otherwise, I stick to my more reserved Virgo side. The grand trine is more just like an innate gift that I can either pull out and wield or hide from others, depending on what I feel like doing. Now, I'm surprised that I haven't yet seen the people come through who are think that grand trines are horrible in peoples' charts and are the worst aspects that you can have because they make you 'lazy.' There are a few of those people on these boards. I think that is total crap, because YOU choose how you use your aspects. Plus, in the case of my chart, my grand trine balances out all of the squares that I have (and boy do I have a lot)... So when I have bad things happen, I usually have some small good thing come out of it, and vice versa. I blame that on my grand trine 'luck' or karma really. IP: Logged |

Earth Sun with grand trine with Venus in Leo, Neptune in late Scorpio and Chiron in Aries. Two are in fire, one is in Water.

I thought what made a trine "grand" is the elements all being the same. IP: Logged |

I thought it meant three planets in trine aspect to each other. They are all caught in that energy pattern together. Maybe it explains the weakening of my Virgo sun? I notice a strong water element in my life with emotions. I am hardly anything like the Virgo sun descriptions I have read. This is why I think my sun must be really weak and not that important in my chart. I lack a feeling of purpose quite often, too. IP: Logged |

I'm a Pisces sun with a fire grand trine between my Leo Ascendant, Sagittarius Saturn, and Aries VenusI definitely feel like I have fire traits at my beck and call, especially my Leo Asc, but I am still very much my Sun sign, which I suppose makes sense since its my chart ruler. I don't think it outshines or overpowers, just adds a little more oomfp and optimism to my personality. Its like having rose-colored sunglasses every Pisces wished they had, except I actually have the drive to make what I see happen IP: Logged |

From reading about grand trines it seems like grand earth trines and grand fire trines are beneficial. I'm still trying to discover the significance of my grand trine.IP: Logged |

I think maybe the reason my sun sign is so not obvious in my natal chart is:Sun sign is also the sign on the 12h cusp. And I wonder, also, if this has something to do with how I was raised. Maybe the sign on the cusp of house 12 is the one family members and people you grew up around try to get you to repress the characteristics of because they are not appreciated by them. Like, Virgo, imo, was replaced by Libra in my chart. People wanted me to exhibit the qualities of Libra, not Virgo. There's even a stellium in Libra conjunct the ascendant which reinforces this idea. There is a grand trine involving two fires and one singleton water. It involves two planets, Venus and Neptune, and one asteroid, Chiron. Not really sure what impact this has on my life tho. Then I have my easy opp between the Moon, singleton Neptune, Pluto, Venus (almost) and the NN where Neptune trines Venus widely and the moon is close to forming a sexitle with Venus. Moon sextiles the NN and also, Neptune sextiles Pluto while Moon trines it. I think all that helps with this Neptune opp that is very strong in aspect.
