I had a dream that I was taking a normal shower. But the drain was closed so the water almost flooded my tub but I noticed it right before it got too high.

What could this mean?

I have many similar dreams with water and stoppages. Last one was a couple nights ago. I dreamed my main water line to my house disintegrated entirely flooding my yard. I know the line is galvanized steel and quite old and rusted. The house was built in 1965 and I saw the line last week because it had a hole that needed patching. Did not like the looks of it. All rusted and I worry it will need replacing in the future and that is what led to the dream. Could you be worried about your plumbing?

It could mean anxiety about being blocked somehow, leaving you feeling flooded and out of control.

I do have a sense of a loss of control.

I'm a college student living at home with many restrictions. I want to move out but I can't afford it and it's driving me insane.

Living at home with many restrictions is definitely enough to drive anyone crazy! I know exactly what you mean! I had the same problem once. Things do get better tho!

Don't let your emotions take over, keep them under control as much as you can.

This is my interpretation.

Dreams are rarely literal and always symbolic.

But I got an uncomfortble feeling when I read your keywords. Let me explain...

Keywords, as far I am concerned here, are "shower", "water", "drain"
and "clog"

Now these are what these things represent to me and perhaps they could represent the same thing to you.

"shower" means naked, vulnerable, oblivious
distracted, alone in thoughts and meditative

"water" means cleanser, redeemer, rejuvenator, purifier etc.

"drain" means abolishment, doing away with the old, closing a chapter, closing a door, garbage disposal, separating the new from old etc.

"clog" is interrruption, disruption, bloatedness, uneven flow, disturbance, problem, hurdle, situation that needs attention, blocking progress, build-up etc.

Now if the water was flowing from the shower cap to the drain, that would be a good sign. It would mena that there is rejunvenation, re-birth, doing away with th old, starting afresh, feeling inspired, feeling new and renewed etc All wonderful positive things.

The clog that stops this "flow" is a concern as it suggests there could be a build up that is halting the proces from naturally occuring. There could be an issue that needs attending, some inhibition that is going to make things uncomfortbale, unwanted interference or baggage. Anything that seems to disturb the natural "ease and flow" of things.

My other concern is that the buildup is so much that the tub gets flooded. Yikes!

This "clog" must be attended to urgently and efficiently. It could start off as something samll but build up into something very huge and incoveniencing. It could get out of contro and quite destructive.

Water that floods suggests being overwhelmed, drowning, unable to deal, loss of control, being "swept off", helplessness etc.

Is there something currently that seems minute and inconsequential that may end up having a catastrophic effect later on should you ignore it? Think it through.

Your subconscious could be trying to communicate something that may complicate your life and leave you feeling helpless and vulnerable.

In my dream, after I realised I wasn't draining the water, I lifted the tub stopper before the water flooded the tub.

So I was able to save myself.

It could mean a number of things.

In my dream, I possibly didn't check to see of the stopper was lifted before I began to shower can represent my carelessness.

The water can represent a cleansing of some sort or my emotions. As the water ran off of my, body into the tub, the water began to rise. This could mean I'm letting a situation get out of control or my emotions.

I lifted the stopper before it flooded. This could mewn that I am still in control and that I meed to let something drain rather than to be careless enough to let it build up and flood.

Idk.

And yes, the water was flowing from the shower head normally.
