I will agree that Mars in Scorpio is overrated. I dated one once- he was pretty mundane. However, I disagree with Venus in Scorpio as being overrated. I rather like the one that I know now, BUT his Venus exactly squares my Mars (8' Scorpio to 8' Leo), so that might have something to do with it. All other Scorpio placements... Eh. They are WAAAY over-hyped by everyone else in all of the other signs. I think that the bigger problem (over the sexuality piece) is that they are made out to be way more scary than they actually are. Most of the Scorpios that I've known are really not that vindictive.

I have mars in scorpio but a lot of the time, I don't have sex on my mind, contrary to this placements descriptions. If I go out to the pub to meet with some friends and the whole vibe of the night is sex, talking sex, trying to find sex...ugh. I get really annoyed. I find I can easily turn on and shut off this part of me.
In regards to Scorpio, I always get invited to "Scorpio Parties" EVERY flippin Oct/Nov. I never see facebook events for Gemini parties or Pisces parties.

Yeah, I could agree that Scorpios in general are over-hyped. I've known lots of Scorpio suns, but they rarely have sex constantly on their mind (to be honest, I don't think that most people do- most people have lives to live). I think that's just something the astrology community tends to focus on all of the time, and the people who know very little about astrology like the fact that their sign is 'sexy,' hence the Scorpio parties. (Though, you know, I think I have actually seen Gemini parties before now that you mention it ). It's been my experience that Scorpios have a general magnetism, but it's NOT necessarily sexual in nature. They just have strong personalities, so it draws people in or it pushes them away.

And... Scorpio, to be honest, really rules INTIMACY. Sex is only a part of intimacy. Truthfully, IMO, Mars/Aries rules sex without the attachment that everyone seems to attach to the word 'sexy,' whereas I think that Scorpio is really sex with intimacy, which means truly knowing someone (a partner) on a deeper level and being able to be vulnerable with that person. That part tends to get forgotten in cookbook astrology.

Strong moons. Especially taurus. They tend to bring the drama. I've been with 3. I should get along with them since I am a taurus sun and venus but they are no bueno for me.

Grand Trines.

I know quite a few people with them, and they're not any more sucessful than other people I know who don't have them.

^t squares are actually better.

But the grand triners have the luck on their side. They can have once in a lifetime opportunities and squander them.

On that I will agree. I have the grand trine, but I also have a tight t-square to balance it out. For me that just translates into 'situational good/bad luck' combined with the work that I put into it. So when an opportunity is presented to me, if I'm smart about it and I put in the work, I reap the rewards, and often, as a side benefit, I will end up with some random 'situational luck' (grand trine influence) that gets thrown in to add to the overall effect. Oddly enough, I often get random situational BAD luck too with the grand trine influence, so when things go bad, they REALLY go bad, to the point where it's almost comical.

I did once know someone who only had positive influences in his chart along with a grand trine. He very much lacked the drive to get up and do anything, and so he stayed stagnated most of the time.

I find most Arians to have a rather cute impetuousness about them. Not scary at all.

Ditto.

Mine involves my ASC/Jupiter in Cancer (1st house), Neptune in Naptune (4th house), and Saturn/Chiron (9th house). IQ told me it's actually a spiritual grand trine.

Maybe it's because Uranus/Pluto in Libra (2nd house) form a kite.

My other ones are Venus conjunct MC, conjunct Lilith in Aries (10th house), and Mars in Scorpio (4th house). I'm not sexy or brooding; instead I'm friendly and tomboyish. Lol

What are you talking about? You said i was the one that got away. My moon is hands down my favorite placement.

I have Venus H8. Which I guess makes sex cool when I have a boyfriend but my Venus opp Saturn can make me very picky about starting a new relationship.

I think although the moon is at home in cancer, I wouldn't want this placement. Just seems too sensitive

Sun trine Moon....

I am supposed to be supper calm and composed especially with my Sun in Cap and my moon in taurus, but I am really emotional and moody...most of my decicions are based on how i feel. LOL.

This is probably because the sun is in the 8th and the moon is in the 12th.

No, no, thank you! It's amazingly kind when you can openly mock the literacy proficiency of others, while hypocritically committing the same offense that you are calling them out for, yourself. ^^ Funny, and sad indeed.

hey! me too!!! but not the same house placements... but same feeling toward the trine, same trine too 23 Cap Sun to 23 Tau Moon ~ ^^; but 5h - 9h instead. LOL

Anyway, glad there's someone else out there who has experienced the alter-effect of this placement..

and, that there are other Taurus Moons here with an emotional side... often Taurus Moon gets downplayed as a stable, stubborn, and emotionally reserved placement...

but, we're not all that are we (not all the time)? not deep down... right, fellow Taurean moon-ers!? ^^

other Taurus Moons <3

just wish mine wasn't afflicted by Saturn opposition and Chiron. bahhhh~ haha

Thank you for sharing your feelings on this tricky aspect too lotus_flower !!
