This is a rip-off thread from Astrodienst; someone there started one in the last few weeks about the exact same Astrotheme link.

You aren't supposed to go up a degree for this, unlike with the Sabian Symbols - if you have something at 8 degrees Aquarius, in Sabians you're supposed to look up the ninth degree interpretation. With these, you'd look up the eighth.

My Ascendant :

quote:
"On a rock split into two by a lightning strike, a man carries another man on his back."
Serious, lucid, and tactful character. One does not shun difficulties and displays a great deal of courage, especially when anyone needs to be rescued. Physical and moral strength turns destructive lightning bolts into an inspirational energy which illuminates the path towards wisdom and spirituality. Success and fame can be achieved in sports and in all risky occupations requiring bravery, particularly those aiming at helping people in distress.

Sun :

quote:
"A man stares helplessly at a broken wheel half-covered with weeds while his horse grazes quietly."
Unambitious, lazy, and fatalistic character. One contents oneself with what is readily available instead of striving to develop one's intelligence and enhance one's skills. One always chooses the easy way out, and therefore, one is looked down upon by one's entourage. Although one is born a rich person, since one is not interested in increasing the inherited wealth, life is most likely to end is poverty, in the image of the weedy wheel.

Probably not, since I'm going to college. I will never live in poverty unless I decide to join a convent. Some of the rest is true, though - why bust my hump trying to attain some crazy level of success just so I can brag that I live in a mansion, when I'd be just as happy living in a small house by a forest? I'm not ambitious, and I'm not money-hungry. If that's lazy, then call me lazy.

Mercury :

quote:
"A peacock spreads its tail as it follows a nobleman in a ceremonial dress. In the background, there is a castle with its gardens and terraces."
Conceited, materialistic, and superficial character tinged with a streak of snobbery. The family comes from a high social layer. One has very good tastes but also an irrepressible propensity to ostentation. Excessive importance is paid to appearances, and much money is wasted in showing off one's worldly possessions. One has no concern whatsoever for the essential things of life. Whether one's fortune is inherited or earned by oneself, one enjoys happiness among one's fellow creatures.

The conceited part is true. Some of the family-tree stuff is too. The rest isn't, otherwise I wouldn't be going to college in June to be a librarian.

I won't get my inheritance either because our oil land was sold out of the family long before I was even alive.

North Node :

quote:
"Banners flutter in opposite directions on a ship's mast."
Indecisive, changing, and whimsical character prone to mood swings ranging from unreasonable optimism to extreme despair. Extensive travels across the world play an important role throughout life. One's intelligence is instrumental in achieving brilliant success, provided one sticks to the same objectives. Dangers are related to the sea and water.

Okay, the first half of this is true, yeah. The second half, I'll get back to you in 10-20 years LOL.

Mars :

quote:
"Behind shrubberies, a man carries a lamb on his shoulders. A dagger and a chopped head are half-hidden under a nearby rock."
Introverted, melancholic, and irascible character. If intelligence and willpower can overcome instincts of violence, oppression, and cruelty, then one can expect fame, honours, and wealth. If in the natal chart, the Midheaven and well-aspected planets are in conjunction with this degree, it promises a top-level government office. If it is in conjunction with the Ascendant and Mars, it portends a danger of violent death.

This is true, I'm a nasty piece of work if provoked. I make no bones or apologies about that. My Mars has multiple squares to it too, including Pluto. It's in the sixth house of work, though. I figure as long as I don't go into any risky field professionally, I'll be fine.

My Venus is at 14'59. Part of my chart sticks it in the 15th degree, the other part lists it still as the 14th. I read both interpretations and 14 seems more accurate :

quote:
"A good-looking woman holds two doves against her chest and watches two adolescents embracing one another in what seems to be a Temple of Love."
Gentle, humane, and devoted character. One is always willing to lend a helpful hand to other people, even in the smallest things. Life is happy but, owing to one's shyness, one's qualities may not be appreciated the way they ought to. This degree describes spontaneous demonstrations of tenderness and reminds that love requires more than insipid soft feelings, and that its flame needs to be rekindled on a daily basis. This degree also warns against romance with a married person.

Moon :

quote:
"In the neighbourhood of a splendid tree on top of a rocky promontory, a centaur shoots arrows at snakes, which are running away in the grass."
Righteous, humble, and independent character. One has the capacity to wisely manage private companies or institutions dealing with public interests. High-ranking positions in the ministry of Finance or the Central Bank are very favoured. However, since success often arouses envy one must beware of jealous people and steer clear of political intrigues, especially if in the natal chart, Mars is dominant. As a matter of rule, this degree is a splendid omen for happiness, wealth, and honour.

This is true, I do tend to have problems out of jealous people more often than most do. The parts about banking are way, way off because I've never had an interest in going into finance or banking in any way, shape or form.

Uranus (chart ruler) :

quote:
"A man harangues the crowd. By his side, a book and a sword are lain on a table."
Ambitious, benevolent, and warm character. Eloquence is a formidable asset which enables to convince one's interlocutors. Careers in education, law, medicine, the military, or the arts are greatly favoured. There is a strong probability that one wields some sort of power.

Ambitious? No. I've thought about going into medicine for years. A few years ago I seriously contemplated joining the army. I'm glad I didn't, I'd probably want to kick my own a55 at this point if I had. Years ago when I first went to college I majored in Studio Art and my intent was to become a graphic artist or commercial artist; I'm glad I didn't do that either.

South Node :

quote:
"A man, with two birds resting on his hands, is seated at his desk with an open book, a pair of compasses, and an hourglass."
Thoughtful, brilliant, and pleasant character. All careers in science and ornithology are very favoured. Success and fame are achieved thanks to a major discovery of principles ruling the laws of Nature, or the design of a revolutionary measuring device. One may also feel attracted to the arts and to water sports. This degree often indicates instability, intense sensuality, and numerous but short-lived romantic affairs.

I still think I was Alphonse Mucha, but this doesn't sound bad, sure.

Hello Stacy Lewis, just because people with the same interest discuss about something almost similar on another forum doesn't mean that 'original' thread has to be given a patent. "Rip-off" has a negative denotation. I wish you were clearer and more specific. FYI, I didn't even know about the astro.com forum thread.

Yes, as expected, the interpretations vary and may not be 100% spot on, but in the end one can get the picture. I use these interpretations when rectifying a chart is needed.

I'm fascinated by Charubel's interpretations from my first link, http://www.auxmaillesgodefroy.com/zodiac_by_degree. I personally don't have anything in my Natal chart at these degrees, but I found them very accurate in other charts.

For example, this one:

3-4 deg Cancer

I see that side of the Moon which is never seen by the inhabitants of this planet.

As this is a thing I dare not look at, Inspection being dangerous, I will simply give the character it typifies. A strange character, one whom no one will ever understand. A person possessed of powers unknown to the present race, and who, unless tile mind has been much distorted, will pursue studies with which the age us not conversant. He will not be tied down to any religious tenets, as he can never be brought to submit himself to any. He will be a magician, but not of ant- known type. Such an one may be called insane, whilst the brain and intellect generally are quite healthy. But the powers arc what I call, Moon-set! That is, such a man is out of the ordinary groove of everyday life; but he is not insane. All that the average person may be taken up with, is uncongenial to him. There is ever a gulf between such a character and ordinary humanity.

Or:

25-26 deg Aquarius

There is no symbol to this degree. A degree of mystery. It is allied to the fourth dimensional space.

Denotes one who has SOMETHING not in common with the rest of the race.

Oh Lord. That first paragraph about Cancer 3-4 degrees sounds like my love life I have my Venus right there, conjunct my Sun at 1'58. I can definitely relate to being misunderstood - not the run-of-the-mill type of misunderstood either. Maybe it would behoove me to look at the rest of the degrees.

ETA: Definitely agree about not following any religious tenets. As for the insanity bit, I do sometimes wonder.

Sun - 7 Leo

quote:
"Amid a halo of clouds, an eye in a triangle of flames rises above a big fire."
Intuitive, intellectual, and sentimental character endowed with great spiritual faculties. One has a keen interest in philosophy and esotericism. Careers in politics, or involving working with fire, bring about success, fame, and a reasonable level of wealth. Positions in government are also very favoured, but not devoid of physical danger. Sometimes, this degree describes a highly evolved soul dedicated to spiritual matters.

Yup, I'm smart and sensitive...

Moon - 24 Libra

quote:
"The sun shines bright on a flowery promontory where a peacock spreads its tail."
Ambitious, proud, and frivolous character. Success and wealth are achieved owing to one's good-looking features and sex-appeal. However, if the natal chart indicates strong moral and intellectual qualities, thanks to a devoted mentor, and although one never asked for it, one achieves considerable success and prosperity and remains simple and nice.

Sure, I'll accept anything flattering. I am waiting for this devoted mentor...

Rising - 1 Aquarius

Sadly, the part about the "short-lived romantic affairs" is all too true...
