I'm curious how this aspect (which is normally considered very sexually charged in a romantic relationship) plays out in non-romantic relationships?

I'm wondering about a male friendship... One of the guys has Venus and in Aries and the other guy has Mars in Aries. Could this really work, as a friendship?
My impression is that it would lead to aggressive or competitive behaviour... but I could be wrong.

It could, depends if they're open minded.
There will be strong connection, maybe in each others interests.
It happened to me with a "straight" friend.
I do think he is straight actually, nothing serious ever happened, no romantic sparks lol
When I mean straight, emotionally attracted to women only.
He just wanted to get off lol
My mars conjuncts his venus like 1 degree.
We actually are still friends and theres no awkwardness.

Family is a different story.... but hey I think it depends on the individual and the morals.

Oh wow ^ That's a very interesting answer.
So you are both heterosexual - but ended up together?

btw, I didn't mean to imply that this aspect *always* leads to sexual attraction. I am just curious how it feels.. or how it -works- in non-romantic relationships, in general.

I'm bisexual lol. I'm not really a girl, so it counts! haha
Not all straight guys would even consider experimenting.
but I do think that placement was a huuuuuge boost.
He was comfortable with me, no awkwardness from his part

This is my fav synastry combination too!
So much attraction!!!!

The conjunction was in Aries

Astrological aspects might(or might not) give you an idea or hint towards the emphasis put on a certain relationship. How can you be so sure it is all that exact?

My cousin, who I consider just as close as a brother has his mars conjunct my venus, does that indicate that we might have good compatibility, yes, does that how ever change the nature of our relationship? NO.
On the other hand, I also have a friend who also has his mars conjunct my venus and with whom, there is a very obvious mutual attaction.

So, to me,any implication on the fact that astrological indications have any sort of power over your own inclinations makes no sense.

I suppose I have it with my closest cousin. Mars 22 Scorpio her venus 16 Scorpio. 6 degrees count? It's closer to my Saturn at 12 Scorpio. She is like a sister to me since we were both only children of single parents. Her dad was shot, politics.

I think there is competition but also I suppose looking after one another. Though maybe that's my Saturn on her venus. I would find her hard to control if I had to and I'm no moral barometer either way so.. Idk..
