I am socially anxious and typically do not like crowds. I get nervous in situations when most people are calm. Sometimes I don't want to leave the house. When most people get nervous however, I am more calm. I like to perform. I like to take pictures of myself or have my picture taken, I like public speaking and I like to act. Strange, I know as I have nothing in leo except the vertex. Here are a few of my thoughts: Could it be because my leo is intercepted and I feel the need to entertain as a way to work around that blocked energy? As a 12th house sun I can play the part of someone else easily and let go of anxiety if I'm assuming another role?

first - what's touching your sun in your natalsecond - what is in your 5th house lastly - look at transits and progressions!~ <--- 5h sun... he sun is still in my 5th house right now... makes me more leonine... (although I'm leo rising by sidereal/vedic astrology) lol Leo rules my 12th.... but when tSun is in my 5th house my usual Capricorn nature becomes more Chimeric, literally... goat with a lions body...~ haha and then it gets another push when the tSun touches my nMoon in Taurus... (sun trine moon) - I'm waiting to find out if the same sort of thing will happen when the Sun - Moon midpoint is crossed by tSun i Pisces later~ lol transits trigger a lot! it is good to pay them some mind, when things in your life suddenly change or you change... ^^ although if it is lasting, it should show in your progressed - and - transit, I believe. Let's see.... Sun sextile moon (scorpio) sun conjunct mercury (sagittarius) sun conjunct neptune (cap) sun sextile pluto (scorpio) In my 5th house: Chiron in retrograde (Gemini) Transits and Progressions: This is how I've been since I can remember. Kind of an all or nothing thing. Thanks for your help, Saturninemoth! I really like the idea of becoming more Chimeric, personally... IP: Logged |

I think the problem here is the assumption about the sign Leo that it equals 'performer', or that we're all hams.
I'm a Leo. I'm not that way. I don't constantly need or even want the spotlight, and actually most of the people I've seen who are always 'on', and jump hoops for attention, aren't even Leos. It's time for the stereotypes associated with the signs to go the way of the dinosaur. If you stop assuming that "Leo = ham", then it'll make more sense to you when you look at your chart, why you feel a need for attention or ham it up. If you have placements in the tenth, or in the first house, for example. IP: Logged |

My dad is a leo. He can talk to anyone. Was quite envious of him. My interpretation could be a "daddy thing". (Grouping all leos into that mix.) In terms of tenth house however, maybe that is in fact where it is coming from: Venus conjunct midheaven Pluto conjunct midheaven Mars trine midheaven Jupiter trine midheaven... First house empty and aquarius is in there and intercepted. IP: Logged |

I don't like the spotlight either. Not public speaking, especially. I can sometimes tell I get a little bummed when I'm in a small group of friends (usually when it's just 3 of us) and I think I'm being ignored. I do like compliments but not really interested as much from praise from strangers. I have sun square AC/Pluto in Scorpio as well as square my moon in Taurus. My sun actually aspects every single planet. Sometimes I get attention, bc I can have a strong presence but it's not always my thing. I'd never ever want to be famous. Maybe bc my chart ruler is Scorpio in Pluto so I'm more private

Damn, I don't like it when people stereotype Capricorns since I am not a typical representation of one. So I don't like doing it to you leos...I should have titled it "What Makes Someone Sometimes Act Like the Stereotypical Leo"? Or something like that.IP: Logged |

I would look at the fifth house since that's where Leo naturally rules, and then see where that house ruler's planet is in the natal chart.IP: Logged |

My asc is 1 degree into Virgo (still not sure about exact time of birth..)I also have my moon in 5H. I look like a "typical" Leo woman and I secretely adore attention. Oh, forgot! My prog Sun has been in Leo forever and it doesn't appear to be leaving anytime soon. IP: Logged |

Interesting. 5th house is Gemini. Mercury is in the 11th house. (Sagittarius) And it is conjunct with Uranus and Saturn in the 11th. And conjunct the sun in the 12th. IP: Logged |

I think strong solar energy. Leo suns are always easy to guess because of their obnoxious attention grabbing behavior, I've never met a lot of shy solar leos. Some people think I'm leo, I think its because of sun asc conjunction. Also 5th house ruler is in conjunction with my asc and my chart ruler. People usually guess leo if we play that game haha. People never guess Gemini... I am very much and extrovert, even to the point where it might annoy others. Most Gems know when they're not liked while I really don't care and will probably continue anyways IP: Logged |

Obnoxious attention grabbing behavior in Leos, hmm? I was gonna chime in with the other Leos earlier to say I am not an attention-hungry Lion myself but I did not want to be too obnoxious Besides I was that way once upon a time when I was more insecure and a lot more young. I'd look at aspects to the Sun, since Leo is ruled by that object. Maybe check your progressed natal, and see what aspects are being made to the Sun, or even compare the progressed Sun to your chart, compare your Sun to your progressed planets. 5th house is a good place to look too, as was mentioned before. My Moon is there and I can be very emotionally dramatic to the point where someone would tell me to grow up. You would think I am trying out for a soap opera. IP: Logged |

Well thats the best way to describe there behavior. Fire signs are usually rowdy and leo's are the most rowdy sign in the zodiac even if they aren't hungry for attention thats how a lot of leo's appear. I've lived with a leo for 18 years, he craves so much attention and usually gets it. Hes text book leo and proves astrology exists just by his behavior lolIP: Logged |

Ah I see. Yes, indeed. Leo tempers, while not as bad as some other signs I can think of, it can be really explosive and a little overdone. IP: Logged |

The above listed are not strictly Leo traits. You may have influence from the Fifth House, for example. Public speaking can also be a Mercury trait. Maybe you have many aspects to your Sun...? IP: Logged |

Hmm.... Sun sextile moon Sun conjunct mercury (but I heard this is very common) sun semisquare venus sun quintile jupiter sun conjunct neptune sun sextile pluto sun semisquare midheaven..... I can attest that I feel the NEED to FIX my anxieties, no matter what they are. I focus on them and tend to either fall victim on them or do the opposite of them to escape from them. Like, I was scared of sharks (even though I love them and water) so I forced myself to swim in the deep waters. So maybe it has something to do with fear in general? Fear being a motivator. Haha. I apologize for the way I phrased that about leos. I envy leos and geminis typically to be honest so I guess I meant it in that way. I guess if there is a platform or stage or structure in a social situation to take on a character that is not my own it takes away my anxiety. Perhaps that is actually not leo at all but does relate more to my neptune. Ahhh. IP: Logged |

true. I have Leo sun/mercury conjunct my MC and I do NOT like spotlights, public speaking or anything in public eye. Well I have Scorpio rising and NN, probably that's why. If I go by dominant sign Leo is my dominant and for a long time I thought it was Scorpio, since most descriptions about Leo that I read doesn't seem to fit me. then again that's just general description, of course only a small portion fits.
