I have more of an issue with when there's not much communication - I think that's because Mercury is in my 7th house.

They're the only kind I'm ever interested in... lol

My father (Pisces Sun, Venus in Capricorn - I can't recall anymore of his chart tho) and my mother (Libra Sun/Venus), could never understand my complacency to be alone for long periods of time... being that neither of them could stand being apart from their partners, my father especially... he hated being alone, period. lol

But, for me... the saying, "absence makes the heart grow stronger" has always been something of a virtue for me. Also, my Japanese friend taught me another saying, "a husband who works away often, makes for a happy wife" ~ roughly translated... lol

Although I have Taurus Moon, Mars in Scorpio... I am a Sagittarius Venus cnj Uranus, Jup(equally Merc) & Sag dominant... and a Capricorn sun in the 5th... trine Moon in the 9th... even mars is in the 3rd...

I believe it is this combination that makes it easy to accept the LDR's that I always land in. ^^;

My love for travel fits into the relationship, which is a very Sagittarian trait... having Sagittarius 4h, for me, means that I'm accustomed to or find the frequent travel expected, acceptable, and enjoyable.

Being together too often, or for too long, has always been a struggle, I don't like to be suffocated, and I hate to be the one who is suffocating (which can easily happen with my Scorpion martian, Saturn opposite Moon in Taurus natural drive for depth and bonding.)

So, honestly... the distance is not a burden for a Sagittarius Venus, or Sagittarius dominant-Capricorn sun...

When my partner has service (military or business) abroad, Capricorn sun will be accepting, patient, loyal. And, when one of us is able to take those long flights, or road trips to meet up somewhere, that works in favour of my 3rd (short distance travel) Mars (passion/motivation), 9th (long distance travel) Moon (encountering/making connections with other "cultures"/nonnative peoples, and thrills my 4h (respite/home) Sagittarius placements/Jupiter dominant (especially the Venus cnj Uranus) - urge to explore/be adventurous, and be free from restraints, and boredom! lol

So broken into astrological reasoning... I think they all factor in to why I find LDR the best arrangement for myself. But, none so important as the aspect between Venus and Uranus. ^^

My husband and I spent over a year in an LDR... three boyfriends before him, were all extreme LDRS... I've had at least 5 of earliest relationships (as young as 13) with those who were either beyond my county, or out of state, and I've dated 4 foreigners, besides my husband. ^^;

I just don't need to be close all the time to whoever I'm with at the moment. And, really can't understand relationships where you are together with them near 24/7.... >.<; being together too often, seeing each other everyday... that sort of thing drives me insane!!! @___@

I crave spontaneity, love frequent changes, and tend to get restless in one spot for too long myself... gypsy-blood as my Nanna calls it... I have the "wanterdlust" gene... hahaha

If I could go back to being apart from my husband by 450 some odd kilometers, I bet we'd be in a far better place in our relationship right now! XD that's how important distance is to me though~

Unfortunately, he has Sag sun... but a Scorpion Moon... and is very family driven.... (and clingy/physically needy) though he has all his planets in the 3rd/4th too. XD His drive is with Mars in Aquarius 5h which squares his Pluto-Saturn in the 3rd... tempering his need to be apart/travel constantly... he's a fairly contented Centaur... truth be told, although he does enjoy some travel/adventure --- he only seems to enjoy local travel (3rd house), within the province mostly, or to his family's home country. >.<; and not very often, (sad to say). >.<;

I think that in general, Uranian people will have less of a problem with a long distance relationship because do best with a certain amount of freedom and space, anyway.

I second this...in fact the lack of communication is what would make me suspicious. I'm a Cancer Sun/Asc/Mars but my Sun/Mars Conjunction form a Yod with Jupiter and Uranus...my Venus is in the 11th, and my IC/MC are Square Uranus (and I'm a Cancer Sun/Cap Moon so the IC/MC is VERY important for me) so I can def do space and LOVE it.

I'm a Cap Moon and Taurus Venus...but both of these are in Air houses (Moon in 7th...Venus in 11th), so what I need is consistent communication (we can go days or even weeks not talking...what I can't do, and what makes me insecure is a change in behavior. An example is if someone calls all the time only to stop, or have their calls be less frequent), or even if I break up and get back together with a guy it needs to be consistent (where we end things...but ALWAYS get back together) lol. I think that's why I work so well with Aqua/Uranus influenced guys who have some sort of Cap/Saturn in them.

Anyway the change of behavior is what makes me suspicious, and I'm a Moon and Mer Square Pluto girl...so I can indeed get very jealous and suspicious.

Yes because i love a foreign woman and people from abroad in general. Love cultures, this probably due my planetary stellium in saggitarius. So yeah, intelligently speaking and exchanging contents, definetaly.

Sounds very aqua and sag. Those are some of the most distance and friendly signs ever. I mean it in a good way. I can see this working out LD.

I had a long distance (taurus sun/moon, sag asc with aqua mars and gem ven) with an ex 600 miles away (gem sun, sag moon, scorp asc with pisces mars/gem ven). It worked for about 3-4 ish years and we just went our separate ways.
