i know that for accurate houses and moon sign you need to have the place and time of birth. but, i found an online moon sign calculator that got it right every single time i checked. i tested the calculator with 53 people whose info. i fully know - i put in birthdate, 12pm default birthtime for everyone and their time zone of birth. so... how is it possible that it got the moon sign right each time with 12pm as the default? i don't underdstand astrological caluclations enough to know. is it that the moon sign is tied to the place of birth/time zone more than the actual time?, or that the moon cannot move more than X number of places away from the sun/venus/mars or some other sign? please help me to understand how the calculator can be so accurate when not given the time, thank youIP: Logged |

That's not hard to find. I have an astrology book that tells you what sign the moon was in from the years 1900 - 2101... Having correct time gives you the degree of the moon and the ascendant for house placements... With the right degree, you'll see the aspects applied to the moon(square, conjunction, trine etc).IP: Logged |

Time of birth is important to a certain extent with the Moon, if you want the exact degree, you'll need to know what time you were born as the moon moves about 12 degrees a day (I think). Even for sign sometimes you need a time as if you were born on a day the Moon switched signs, it will differ, like one person who didn't know their time of birth, they could have been one of the two moon signs, although for Signs, if you know when in the day they were born (like evening, afternoon or morning) it will help with people born on days the moon switched signs IP: Logged |

Moon moves 12 degrees per day. Putting 12pm birth time puts the moon in the center of that 12 degree range for that day. Example. I was born 11:24am. Let's round it off to 12 and pretend we don't know it. Putting 12pm as birth time for June 15 1978 will give you Moon in Libra 15°. Now as the day goes on, the Moon will move maximum to 21° Libra that day at 11:59pm. If you go the other way and choose 12:01am that day, you'll get 9° Libra Moon. This is one of the reasons why birth time is important. ------------------ Gemini Sun Libra Moon Gemini Mercury Cancer Venus Virgo Mars Virgo Asc And yes, I'm a guy! IP: Logged |
