I have seen this word used for the negative effects of Saturn, but Saturn has to sorta afflict you in order to teach certain lessons before giving rewards. So what does it mean then to have an afflicted Saturn? Some sites mention the conjunctions as well as the squares. Sounds like am doomed, cause I have sun, mercury and venus conjunct saturn. saturn square true node and Uranus, but trine neptune and sextile pluto. IP: Logged |

Sounds like I am also doomed,it conjuncts my sun, mercury, venus, karma, squares node, pluto, opposes chiron and to make things worse its in the 4th house.I get pulled by my naughty gemini moon and rebellious aqua mars in one direction and by saturn in another direction.Just dont be lazy, follow the rules, work hard and you will be fine.IP: Logged |

I wouldn't call Saturn conjunctions "afflictions" but they can definitely be hard to deal with.I consider a planet afflicted when it has at least 1 square or opposition. *Especially* when it comes to Saturn. But if there are many other flowing aspects, the release of energy is usually easier and less problematic. IP: Logged |

I have a t-square:Leo Saturn Scorpio Uranus Aquarius Mercury I think because of my Pisces moon, I'm more concerned with how I relate to other people than my inner struggles and tension. If I can get along with others peaceably, make a worthwhile contribution...that is what's important to me. Granted I can be obnoxious once in a while, but for the most part, I don't think that t-square gets in the way of my achieving what I want. It's just another jumble of feelings I have to work out into some kind of harmony.

Can you tell what's a T-square?I think mine is afflicted then, I have 2 squares already, Saturn square uranus, and square True node. saturn also opposes ascendant. Does it automatically means it conjunct descendant? IP: Logged |

A T-square is a pattern in a chart composed of two planets in opposition and a third planet that squares them both. It looks like a red triangle. Difficult configuration because of the internal struggle of different energies, but it's very often found in charts of achievers (it gives the impulse to overcome obstacles). And yes, whatever is opposite the ASC is indeed conjunct the DSC.
