maybe she is more of a friend then a maternal influence?

The natives mother has a lot of connections and friends in high places and so you will easily have connections being her child. She will also encourage you to be sociable just as she is, you may even be friends with her.

My sister has moon in the 11th house my mother has a lot of connections because of her sociable nature, my sister takes advantage of that pretty often. Not that theres anything wrong with that.

Lucky. My mother doesn't have any connections for me to benefit off of, lol. She was popular back in her day though.

True, except I would gauge it at more of siblings vs. friends.

Not the provider.

Detached - yes! My father complained she's not a very "warm" person. Now that I think about it I also have Moon trine Uranus which supports Moon in the 11th.

Unconventional - a tad. She's really obsessed with holistic health and will find any way she can to work it into conversation anywhere she goes.

My moon is in the 11th + taurus.
I don't have a good relationship with my moon, but I blame my moon-pluto opposition.

My mother is indeed unconventional, she wasn't very protective or controlling - she showed me how to value freedom, connection with others, with groups, etc.

123Hello - I have the same opposition, sign and everything.

My mom always tried pushing me to go play with friends when I was little and wanted to stay by her side. She got annoyed with me often because I used to smother her. Then she would try and smother me when I didn't want it.

If I use whole signs my Moon falls in the 12th. I can relate to that also.

My mother was detached, turbulent, unpredictable, distant. I didn't get much emotional support from her, we seldom hug etc.
She's quite a loner, doesn't have friends and in that sense she is a bit unconventional, prefering to spend hours alone, at home.

But then again, I was always acting as if I wanted her to leave me alone. While my sister, as a baby, cried her eyes out, if she wasn't with her, I calmly played by myself for hours. And even the few times she was being protective and worrying, I strongly disapproved of this behaviour.

I have Sag moon conjunct uranus & square venus.
She's a Sag sun&asc with moon in aqua.

I'm Virgo rising, with Cancer on the 11th house cusp. Moon in the 3rd house.

My relationship with my mom is complicated. Growing up she was more like a sister than a mother. I called my Grandma - mom, and my Grandpa - Dad. I called my mother by her first name, still do.

These days the relationship has progressed into one of friendship - the things she tells me. If I'm facing a situation where I'll need maternal advice or such, I know she's not the one to go to.

My sister has the Moon in her 11th house.

She has always been closer with her friends. Her friends are her "family".

Anyway, my mother and her are definitely "friend"-like. Also, my mother is a very humanitarian person, and her work and education have always revolved around social justice (11th house). She's involved in all kinds of clubs and groups. She's also very eccentric and has tons of friends.

YES. I identify with this and was just thinking about it last night actually. "Duh" me for not connecting it to the 11th house sooner.

my moon is in aries 11th house.

my mother was quite needy and controlling and suffocating- i did not like her at ALL- all i wanted was for her to GO AWAY- like if she had died when i was a child i would probably have been relieved.

she didnt have many friends-she is very narcisistic and in love with herself - as you can tell i dont like her much haha.

now i can see her with clearer eyes i can see things were not always easy for her and feel a bit sorry for her but not too much- she was just such a damaging person to be around- even now i would not be sad if she died, probably relieved.

i have moon square neptune, and moon trine saturn, dunno if that is relevant in any way.

I am a mom and my oldest girl has an 11th house moon in Cancer. I am her strongest advocate. I am there to support her, guide her and to be there when she needs me. If she needs help, I reach out into the community and get her the help she needs - cause she is developmentally delayed and has some struggles in life. I am strongly devoted to her. I am sharing part of my life in the community with her - going to meditation night at the church and other activities out there for her - maybe this shows in her 11th house moon placement, but as a mom to one, this is what I am like for her.
