Hm.

I guess it depends on which members of the family you're referring to (IC/MC parents, 3rd house siblings).

Lack of connection with the family in that sense makes me think of an afflicted IC or IC ruler.

Like Uranus, Neptune or Pluto on IC or in the 4th. Maybe even Saturn.
