In trying to better myself at astrology I'm reading my friends chart and giving her bit by bit as I go along. She's really interested to know about the types of men she attracts vs. general information. Since she has Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune in the 7th like I do I'm skipping those 'til later. I started looking at her Mars in the 9th house (Aquarius) and noticed it squares her Sun in the 12th. Instinctively (knowing her) I feel she'll attract a partner that likes traveling. However, since it is square her Sun (Taurus) in the 12th, does this indicate violence at all? Or maybe it simply indicates a militarian type of personality. Insight needed, thanks IP: Logged |

I'd primarly look at the DSC and its ruler, to be honest. Because Mars in her chart probably rules another house..But! Yes it does indeed point to the kind of "ideal" man (not always). So here with the square to the Sun it's tricky. Usually, Mars represents the young man, the sexual part of the man. And the Sun is more about the grown-up man, less driven by desires. So *maybe* in her younger years, she'll be attracted to Aqua/Sag influence in a man and later on by more private, Pisces-like types. Oh and about violence.. It doesn't have to manifest that way, fortunately; but she should make a conscious effort to assert herself in a constructive way and not in a destructive one (square) so that she doesn't create conflicts "out of nowhere".

She attracts Pisces guys like crazy. I thought it was because of her Pisces moon (then the Sag DSC, then Mars in the 9th) but she also has a ton of Jupiter influences too on top of that. Her chart is posted in Personal Readings if you're willing to trade theories back and forth.IP: Logged |

Maybe she attracts Pisces due to Neptune in 7?IP: Logged |

Probably, and her Pisces moon. Would Sun square Mars indicate a guy with a big ego? Or not so much since her Sun is in the 12th house? IP: Logged |

I'm not sure, but it sounds frustrating like who you are conflicts with what you feel driven to do. Is she shy or reserved at all? I would think her Sun was very structured and practical vs. the Mars with grand, more abstract ideas.

It's hard to explain. She puts other people ahead of herself, but she says things that make her sound egotistical if that makes sense. But if I were to bring that to her attention I'm not sure she'd understand. So, she appears very sweet and quiet but I don't think that is how she feels about herself at all. She takes a LOT of pride in her ethicalness and fairness. IP: Logged |

I would think the sweetness is actually from her moon and that the ethics/fairness are an Aquarian influence.

Would you be willing to trade thoughts on her chart over in the personal readings section? I want to focus on her relationships and such since that's what she's most interested in learning about right now. IP: Logged |

The Aquarian archetype is her male ideal - friendly, humanitarian, aloof, idealistic, scientific. 9th house - He's from a foreign culture, or a professional, higher education man. He may also be evangelical religious person. Square sun - Perhaps he's anti establishment. Or their relationship will be opposed by his family. IP: Logged |
