I am doing a chart and have always used Modern, but I am sensing that traditional would be better. Any thoughts?------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. Check out my journal http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

I have a sixth house Venus. After reading about what the sixth house represents traditionally, I choose modern.I mainly use modern for the "bad" and "good" houses. For the most part I blend traditional and modern. IP: Logged |

Use a bit of both! It's best to know about each and incorporate them together. That's the Art of astrology. IP: Logged |

^^^This. I use both. Scorpio is Pluto/Mars, Aquarius I use Saturn/Uranus, and Pisces I use Jupiter/Neptune. For horary, I use traditional mainly and sometimes blend the modern rulers. ------------------ Gemini Sun Libra Moon Gemini Mercury Cancer Venus Virgo Mars Virgo Asc And yes, I'm a guy! IP: Logged |

Personally I use both. For instance, I have a Scorp asc, Pluto in the 9th...now that placement incites me and agrees with me somewhat, but my Mars in Aqua, in my crazy, mixed up stellium in Aqua that fires up my close t squares is also a BIG player in my life... I say, personalize the chart! Apply the chart rulers as they are most exhibited! IP: Logged |

I'm with whoever says try both and see the results. Don't limit yourself, and all that. IP: Logged |

I use modern for natal & synastry etc and mostly traditional for horary since its more cut down than modern. But aspects are more complicated when it comes traditional. IP: Logged |

Same here. For Horary, I'll look at the chart using traditional guidelines only, i.e. strictures against judgement, significators, aspects, etc. Then i'll look at it again using modern and traditional just to see what it says but I definitely give more weight to the traditional answers.

I use both traditional and modern rulers (for the signs that have both) because otherwise, you're getting only half the story (in my opinion).IP: Logged |

I use both together. Looking at a chart of a scorpio rising I would look at the placements of mars and pluto. I noticed they can either behave more martian or plutonian. Perhaps more evolved scorpio have stronger traits of pluto. Aquarius, scorpio and pisces, have a lot of layers and depth, on the outside we feel the traditional rulers and modern rulers are what they should strive for. Perhaps its the other way around, Pisces influenced by neptune not stable at all. Aquarius and uranus, Although i like these people, are erratic. Scorpio and pluto can be too extreme with othersIP: Logged |

Like me personally, I'm a Scorpio Sun - I have a Sun/Mars in Leo square and Pluto at the end of Scorpio. I feel like a more Martian Scorpio, a red scorpio not a black scorpio. I consider my Sun and Mars to be in mutual reception.IP: Logged |

Yes. Yes! This is what I do. You can notice so many extra subtle details about people from doing this. For instance, I've got Aquarius on the 3rd house cusp of mental interests. Aquarius is said to rule astrology, and curiosity about people and social psychology in general. This really fits me. Also... My Aqua 3rd house cusp is ruled by Uranus in Scorpio, and Scorpionic subjects like the supernatural, investigating mysteries, intimate relationship dynamics, obsessions, amazing transformations, and brutal honesty about the highs and lows of human nature, all interest me for sure. My Uranus is in the 11th house conjunct the 12th house cusp. This emphasizes the Aqua-ness of it, and adds to my interest Pisces like topics…. In fiction I enjoy fantasy/sci fy/supernatural stuff the most. And again, stuff like psychic phenomena is interesting to me. Adding to that, Saturn in Virgo is co-ruler of my 3rd house. I’ve got a very keen interest in health related topics, especially alternative and natural health therapies. Don’t trust pharmaceuticals unless it’s a life or death situation, and then only for a temporary amount of time. I much prefer natural cures. It IS Saturn as co-ruler of Aquarius we’re talking about here! I like learning about different kinds of vitamins, herbs, and alternative health techniques, and what they can do for you. Saturn is in the 9th house, and issues concerning morality and what people believe are interesting to me as well. I can see how BOTH the modern ruler and the traditional ruler of my 3rd house apply.

Have you had your full natal chart calculated Pisces Adonis? That is all you need. Look at the houses that have Scorpio, Aquarius, and Pisces on the house cusp. Scorpio is ruled by Pluto (modern) and Mars (traditional). Aquarius is ruled by Uranus (modern) and Saturn (traditional). Pisces is ruled by Neptune (modern) and Jupiter (traditional). The house cusps that have these signs on them will have dual rulership. When you check the sign, house, and aspect position of both these house rulers, it gives you a more complete picture of how affairs associated with that house will play out. Also, since you are a Pisces, you might want to look at how not only Neptune, but Jupiter as well, are influencing your Pisces Sun. The same thing if you have personal planets in Aquarius. check out both Uranus and Saturn as rulers. What I've noticed is that the modern rulers are usually more dominant, and that traditional rulers are more of a sub-influence on the sign. Like a sign with dual rulership is influenced 70% by the modern ruler, and 30% by the traditional ruler. However, humanity is full of variation, so I'm sure there are slight differences from person to person. IP: Logged |

Hhhm so my Aquarius influence would be much more powerful under the Traditional Houses? Scorpio and Aquarius dominates my chart at 14.4% (Scorpio) and 14% (Aquarius). The main edge to why Scorpio ultimately wins is because Pluto dominates my Chart (17.7%) and my Scorpio Asc. Conjuncts my Pluto in Scorpio. However Saturn is my Third dominant planets at 13.2% and my Sun at around 14% IIRC. My Saturn is also in Aquarius. So taking all things into consideration, would Aquarius be my dominant Sign under Traditional House Rulers and Saturn my Dominant Planet? One of the positive Aspects to my Sun is that Pluto is Trine to it. More another time.
