so capricorn is all about climbing the mountain and overcoming bad karma, and learning from ones mistakes right?

i have ALOT of capricorns in my family and i have seen some of them have overcome the obstacles thrown in their path and ascended the mountain and gotten the respect and security they so crave and others...haven't

i feel like at 28 ive learnt ALOT and really overcome alot but MY GOD have i steped on some other peoples spines to get there! i do because in the past ive done some things that i would NEVER do now but were necessary (or felt necessary) at the time and if i hadnt have done them i would not have learnt from the experience, i do worry about it hindering my progress but i feel like ive come SO FAR since then and tried to help people as much as possible and be considerate and right my wrongs etc so i feel like, well one part of me feels like ive learnt my lesson and deserve to progress- i mean i have suffered ALOT and been through alot too but i must admit ive sure doled it out!

i feel like now if i do well i will want to share the good fortune as much as possible and will use my advantages and success in a positive way but on the other hand- ive done alot of not so nice stuff....

what are the thoughts of other capricorns here about getting the stability and success you crave and climbing the mountain?

I don't exactly know what you are referring to when you say you have done 'lot of not so nice stuff'

As far as I'm concerned, ethics are very important to me, be them being moral or professional ethics. I'm harder on myself when it comes to moral ethics. Especially at work.

I can bore you to tears with all my stories but in the end I just want to say it's not worth hurting another human being to get what you want in life or causing grief or pain to a colleague so as to get a promotion at work.If getting what I want/ or reaching the place I want to be at takes hard work, lots of sacrifice and loads of perseverance, I would take that road in a heart beat. My ultimate success may not be exactly what I have wanted for myself but I have learned to accept things as they come to me and I found peace and more emotional stability in doing so.

The past is water under the bridge and it is what you do from here on that matters most because you aren't able to amend the past. Yes, recognizing mistakes and making amends is honourable, and let your behaviour from here on be exemplary.

Keep the faith and plough on. Success is a life-long journey; it isn't a destination. Capricorns wake up to new objectives and scale new heights daily.

I've paid my dues and dealt others some bad hands in spite of knowing better as well, friend~ for sure~ (This doesn't mean I've crushed someone like a bug under my military boot just to get a promotion, or pushed someone off a cliff... >.>; I don't think that's what you are saying either, right, sharpei? ^^; I mean I could have been nicer... and more lenient, and forgiving when others didn't match up to what I'd expected or what I held them capable of doing/completing...)

I don't feel I've made so much progress on the physical plain, but spiritually I know I've covered a lot of ground~ I can say the latter has been far more rewarding in my experience so far, anyway.^^

Even though I'm sure being born as a Capricorn sun has its meaning and importance, the karmic lessons and struggles I've encountered/continue to stumble through, are, in my mind at least, tied more into my South Node - North Node axis. I also really like the way IQ put it in undoing/freeing oneself from Saturn's restrictions by delving into our opposing degree. For whatever reason this does seem extremely significant and in sync with the message of my nodal axis. ^^; We're not all Capricorns, but we all have a something (many things) to surmount in our lifetimes~ and the axis is common to everyone~

I haven't focused on success for success sake for quite a long time now... I mean to succeed then I'm sure I will... but, it's not important... now I feel it's more important "how you play the game" (which I think is what you are saying too, playing fair with the greater good to humanity in mind, like any well evolved Capricorn/Saturnian would want, right!?)~ Anyway, that was part of my father's philosophy, he was all about good sportsmanship (in life). (Pisces father)~ And, stability ^^; no longer means the same thing to me either... I think it's tiring and far more counterproductive the way I once worried about such things... It's definitely been a part of my life lesson to do as so many people have always told me, over and over... and learn to "loosen/lightin' up!" and "roll with it"... telling a Capricorn such things, (I think telling any Earth sign such things) is really asking them to abandon their astro-instinct! LOL But, it helps... really!

Anyway, I'd go on and on... so, I'm stopping with this~

I've got a whole lot of Capricorn influence in my chart once it gets broken down into bits... too much~ and a good deal of Earth, which is all topped off by the big three being all three Earth signs. >.<; Though I embrace the Pullen delineations which give me Sag and Water and Mutable dominance... ^^; I know I'm truly Earthborn, Cap, Cardinal dominant (on a soul level) ~__~; Anyway, the best thing for me, has been letting go of that overwhelming, undeniably Cappy urge to control every little aspect of my life. Ask for help, be humble, and return the favour, no matter what~ and to laugh more... especially at my incredibly stupid mistakes~!
It's like Sidonie Gabrielle Colette's "you will do foolish things, but do them with enthusiasm!" lol (always loved that quote... sorry)! (Why is it we Cappies so often dwell on our misdeeds and mistakes, like we're the only people who have them, idk! lol But, I too have a Cappy-quarian heavy family and there's a lot of them like this in it!) And, Gene Wilder, he's such a great idol~ "So my idea of neurotic is spending too much time trying to correct a wrong. When I feel that I'm doing that, then I snap out of it." Living with a little less restraint, begins with laughter, I believe!~ ^^;

Everything in this post may be nonsense... but, Mr. Wonka also says that's "relished by the wisest" ~ ^^ so I'm stickin' with it!

I'm extremely Capricorn: Sun, Mars and Mercury conjunct. Not just that, Sun is in the native 10th House. Ruler of 2nd/4th/6th/7th House is Capricorn. Jupiter is in 2nd House in Aries and Ruler of MC/10th is in 2nd House.

And I'm entering my second Saturn return in a couple of years, and my career is peaking. I'm in the financial institutions business.

saturnine- wow i really enjoyed what you wrote! yes i want to do something that benefits more than just me- i want to bring something really positive to the world but of course i want to be comfortable with it- im not one to give all my money to africa

like you i feel i have covered ALOT of ground spiritualy and grown and improved internally but now i really want to have external results too because there is a limit to how much one can exist in ones own head! ive had alot of obstacles in my path, some external some internal and caused by myself.

i guess now i feel ready to like get on with life- i want to save up to do my personal training course and start up slowly, save up my money and eventually open up a mini studio, maybe employ some people, do voluntary unpaid sessions for students or the disabled, all the while continuing to do more courses and update my knowledge and learn more.

my north node is in taurus 12th house and scorpio 6th house south node (obviously) and i do feel happiest in emotionally intense situations- i feel ''safer'' with people who are a bit psychotic or something haha i feel like they are in a way easier for me to deal with and manage, and i do LOVE my routine and am diet and health obsessed- i focus on self improvement to the detriment of like having the stability i need- like rather than put down a deposit on a flat i spent it on a course (not one that will get me a job btw - just something that interested me) which is nice but i need to lay down roots and make security my focus now - as for the 12th house-well i dont know where that comes in- im quite happy being on my own but i almost spend too much time alone - it scares me how happy i am alone- all i really need is someone to sleep with and im happy

i would be interested to hear a little bit more about your path- what do you feel were your main stumbling blocks when you were younger?

do you feel you have more or less overcome them?

Definitely. Be happy to share. Just that I ask for the kind patience of others that either know my past already or have no desire. I will handle it a step at a time, progessively. I prefer that it not be generic because that wouldn't help you. My past is complex.

Why don't you phrase the questions and I will answer.

The generic answer is that I am going to be 50 years old soon. Yes, I have overcome my obstacles, but I measure myself to standards which I set myself, and my standards are rather high. My main stumbling blocks when I was young were not being able to measure up to my parents' expectations in terms of academics and also lacking self confidence because I was perpetually put down. I broke through those barriers once I left home for college. I have attained much career success but I have not yet reached the pinnacle. My Creator has been good to me in terms of achievement, recognition, material blessings and especially blessings of affection.

you sound really satisfied with your lot

i always like to learn from people who have succeeded- that is one good thing about me - i am never jealous of others success - i see them as people to learn things from.

i dont know really how best to ask the questions because i guess i worry if i am too specific i feel like i am prying and i do not like it when others pry so i prefer not to do the same but it is always interesting to hear from other capricorns and see what htey have learnt. i really think any capricorn will appreciate this article http://www.alanoken.com/newsletter/Dec10_D.htm
it goes much deeper than most...

i suppose the gist of my question is how you developed the skills you needed to succeed and how you kept your eye on the ball during the tough times and what do you feel was your main obstacle or blockage.

i feel like a big blockage for me is i am not always so great at dealing with people and dont project confidence which is really important in life- i think right now i am in a really good place and have learnt alot about how to be diplomatic and be empathetic to others because i can find being around people quite painful at times but all the mistakes i made in the past are making it hard to progress...

eta - when i say mistakes in the past- i mean more constant job changes etc that make my cv patchy - not like a criminal record or anything super serious like that! all repairable things and all it takes is one stroke of luck to get a really good job so you know...

My Childhood:
- I could never measure up to what my parents wanted out of me as a child. I constantly fell short of their expectations even though I was making good grades in school.
- I was talked down to and verbally degraded on the basis of my supposed lack of achievement.

England:
- I left home in Asia to got to school in England (Berkshire) when I was 14.
- I continued to disappoint parents despite pulling nine O Levels and five A Levels, and mostly with distinction.
- I wanted to go to college in America, which truly disappointed my parents, who were *both* Ox-Bridge.

America:
- Success started coming to me after I arrived in America for college and graduate school.
- Focused on what was necessary to succeed and made my own decisions. Was very lucky to have highly successful girlfriends who morally supported me along the way (includes a neurosurgeon, a judge, a professor and a banker). Success is contagious.
- Stood fiercely independent of my parents and exceled beyond expectations, paying my own way through graduate school and repaying every cent they spent on me.
- Began a successful career between college and graduate school, and finished graduate school at aged 26+. Earned multiple graduate degrees.
- Got married at 30 years old. I have 17 year old and a 7 year old sons. Two-decade wedding anniversary will be in May.

My CV is peppered with past jobs. I have lost more jobs more than I care to mention. The key is picking yourself up after a layoff or a sacking and moving on.

Your self-pride and confidence - let nobody take those away from you.

thanks for that- wow that is quite an eventful life!

it seems like you really did draw some high powered women towards you!

i guess for me i have done so many not so nice things i almost feel like karmically i dont deserve the good things even though i have learnt my lessons and tried to right my wrongs. i see my own father (capricorn) who made waaaaay more and waaaay bigger mistakes than i did and he now suffers the consequences and it scares me.... im going through the saturn return now and trying to make sure everything is in order i guess and that i am on the right path- and i do feel i am i just think in the past i was NOT! and that somehow i almost feel i should be punished for it or pay some reparations but i guess when i DO have success i can share the love and be compassionate to those who are struggling in a way i might not have been had i not made the mistakes ive made?

it sounds like your saturn return was significant for you being that is when you married. Thank you for sharing

I can relate to a few things that you said.I've had so many jobs that I lose track of the dates!! But I was lucky to get a lucky break.....FINALLY..in fact it happened when I least expected it to happen..

Am a different person from the person I was a few years back- someone said that capricorns rise to new heights everyday, and that is SO TRUE for me, (one capricorn at least). I change daily..

I think you are on the right path, you are aware of your shortcomings, that's one BIG STEP towards success, that much for a capricorn to openly concede to their weaknesses is a great step in the right direction I would say. NOW that you know about them, am sure you would ''correct'' them so as to become The Best.

That being said, I think we keep the past alive in our heads so as NOT TO FORGET the lessons we've learned, we hang on to the past so as to REMIND us what we didn't have AT THAT TIME, that's why we TEND, to let ourselves be dragged away from our new found objectives in life- if we are not well grounded on our feet, if we let ourselves be swayed by emotions like disappointments, resentments and fatigue.

You just have to beat that MOOD. You can do it. Capricorns can do anything

my ex gf was a capricorn. She started out as this dumb nobody little girl who lived with her parents. Then I taught her a few things. Now she is beautiful, holds a key position at her job that she worked hard for, dumped me and got a really hot successful guy who provides for her and bought her a house. I am kind of inspired by her hard work and dedication to rising to the........nice middle class comfortable life style.

yes i feel like ive done ALOT of work on myself- started doing volunteer work, plan to pay off my debts once i have a full time job, have said sorry to certain people etc.

i agree with you about changing daily- i feel like im always learning and evolving and adapting to my situation- it is almost like i mutate given whatever scenario i find myself in haha.

i think you are right not to forget because some people when things start going well forget allthe lessons they learnt from past mistakes and then repeat them and so lose the position of power/trust they found themselves in and worked so hard to get, so i wont forget my past mistakes and i will remember what it felt like to be where i am now so i am more compassionate to those who need it when i finally do get what i want

all i need right now is to have more self belief and project that to other people then i think things really will start to work out.

*Just keep the faith. Keep the eye on the ball and focus on the prize.*

its not easy to calculate a capricorn.

sometimes we are like natural ascetics, knowing that suffering is a must before succes arrives.
like whoever wants to become good, sacrifices must be made and whoever wants to achieve, efforts must be made.

we know that we live in a world where there is happiness there is also suffering, where there is sweetness there is also bitterness and where there enough there is also shortage and where there is joy there is also saddness...
sometimes the happy are even unhappy... such is the portion for us humans in this world, so we try our best to maintain composure at ease with discipline and determination.

some people say capricorns use alot of things or people for their selfish benefit. but what is really free from self interest? there is no such thing... everything you do, even if you help your fellow human being through altruistic ways or noble means.. still you do so attached for your own well being.

anyways, a capricorn is hard to calculate..

its like 1+1=2 , thats science.. what we learn from textbook. but what makes one plus one, two? thats knowledge.
science + knowledge brings wisdom.

and some things cannot be studied, only experienced.

intelligence makes smart and wisdom makes dumb so dont be stupid. we may seem cold sometimes but we have passions too.
the desire or wish to win, the desire to become rich or aquire wealth, the desire to become most famous or well known, the desire to be the most wise.

but hey we like to keep some passions in check. let others who are more extrovert such as fire signs have it, we like to work on our own pace.

well, i like my capricorn sun.. cos it inhibit my martian aspects and saggitarius planetary stellium when needed.
