Not bad, but not useful for me yet. It's Love, Sex and Evolutionary Astrology: Skymates by Jodie Forrest and Steven Forrest. Is it about synastry? When doing my synastry and composite chart with another partner I've checked our houses and conjunctions, oppositions, trines, etc. For example, his sun is in my fifth house, so I looked it up in the book (I was told it was cookbook style) but I wasn't sure if it was just checking MY sun (because my sun is in the sixth house) or OUR sun together in synastry. I don't want to feel like I wasted my money, and I'd like to get something from this book. If anyone is familiar with it, can you please explain to me what it's really used for? I read that this was a really good book for synastry in reviews, but haven't found it useful yet. AND! I do not know what it means when they say "Sun solarizing Blank." It also did the same with Moon, and I think all the planets. IP: Logged |

It's limited regarding transposed houses, definitely not a thorough synastry 'cookbook' if that's what you were looking for. It does ease you into interpreting the aspects and the energy between charts in an intuitive manner, playing with the symbolism. But if you just want to look things up here and have that be the end of it for now then you'll end up frustrated. And it doesn't touch on composites; they have a separate book for that. If you were looking up a planet in a house it only interprets that for the natal. And only in the houses of intimacy. It's not for a synastry beginner in the sense of a beginner who doesn't have a good backing in natal astrology already. If you're good with natal then this book is good if you want an off-the-beaten-track way to get into synastry. If you're just starting out with both then this is not the book for that since it leads off in different directions and doesn't follow a completely logical order both in the way the material is presented and in the way the lil gems of insight are handed out. It meanders around a lot, and has a leisurely pace. In essence it plays around with the idea of synastry to stimulate your thoughts on the matter, not to tell you what and how to think about the subject 'in one and only one way.' Other synastry books are formatted with clear agendas; this one isn't."I do not know what it means when they say "Sun solarizing(...)" ---You're not ready for this book and/or you'll never like it, shelve it. A better one for a synastry beginner would be: Synastry, Understanding Human Relations Through Astrology. Altho it does have some advanced things you can skip them if you're not ready yet. Synastry + composite 'cookbook' (including houses) is: Planets in Synastry: Astrologic Patterns of Relationships. Other composite books: PLANETS IN COMPOSITE: Analyzing Human Relationships. COMPOSITE CHARTS, THE ASTROLOGY OF RELATIONSHIPS Classic synastry text is: How to Handle Your Human Relations. IP: Logged |

Thank you very much! I've been trying to understand it throughout the night but still couldn't figure anything out; I'm glad I know it's time to give up! I'd understand the natal charts parts, so I'm glad it's at least useful for that! IP: Logged |
