I was checking my seventh house cusp. I guess it's technically Capricorn? But the Aquarius description sounded more accurate! There's only a little bit of Aquarius in the seventh house!

The description for Capricorn on the 7th house:
Capricorn influence on the seventh house denotes a certain shyness and reserve, and a definite caution and restraint in forming partnerships. Marriage may be for status and security as much as for love. You are not one to be quick or impulsive in such matters. There is a tendency for you to feel restricted by the duties of wedlock or of any partnership. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, the planet of restrictions and responsibility. Capricorn relates to restrictions and you are likely to be required to carry more than your share of the responsibilities. You attract partners that want or need your nurturing support. The Saturn type as a mate is the parent figure, who is there to give a solid base, be supportive and responsible. Yours is likely to be a relationship that is very nurturing to both you and your partner. You are mutually supportive to each other, and to others with whom you come in contact.

The description for Aquarius on the cusp of the 7th house:
The Aquarius influence in the seventh house suggests a drive for independence in relationships. It often shows a degree of trouble on this account. You are inclined to pick a partner who, like yourself, is highly individualistic and independent. You attempt, nonetheless, to keep a tight rein on your mate, though you may insist on maintaining much of your personal freedom. You're the sort who wants to have your way, to do what you want, when you want. This attitude doesn't lend itself very much to marriage unless you can find a spontaneous person who can adapt to your style. A mutual understanding must be reached. Partners will be friends, and the most fruitful relationships for you are likely to be those that remain detached, and those in which the two of you are not so demanding upon one another.

I'm actually pretty impulsive when it comes to relationships. I think I know almost immediately if I like the person or not, and when I do I immediately want to think about them and talk to them as much as possible! I don't think I attract people who want support at all, either. I think I really expect my partner to be the responsible one in our relationship, too. I only want to be emotionally supportive; but very emotionally supportive.

I definitely look for someone who's individualistic like me. And I'm really controlling but don't want anyone to take my freedom away!

So is it okay to go with Aquarius as the cusp of my seventh house? Capricorn just doesn't fit. It's the same with Scorpio on the cusp of the fourth house, too!

Scorpio sounded correct for the cusp of the fourth AND fifth house! *

You Seventh House cusp is in Aquarius, but Pisces is in there too! If you want, try reading some Pisces Seventh House stuff, maybe that will fit.

That sounds like me! I'm an Aquarius Seventh house too, if you remember me, !

I don't know. The Pisces still doesn't sound too much like me. :/

Then Aquarius it is! I personally stick to the cusp, but I've read some people feel whatever signs are in the house too.

Aquarius is on the 7th house cusp. Not Capricorn. Capricorn is on your 6th. Are you a little confused? I'm wondering if you're familiar with astrological symbols yet.

There is a Capricorn connection to your 7th house. This is not because of the cusp sign, but because the planet Saturn is in the 7th house, and Uranus ruling Aquarius is in Capricorn too.

Houses are layered. Each one had multiple things to consider. You look at the sign of the cusp, the position of the cusp ruler, and any planets actually in that house. I also take into account the next sign along, if a lot of that sign is in the 7th house. But cusp sign is always more important then the next sign along.

In your case, you have an Aquarius Dsc, ruled by Uranus in Capricorn in the 6th house. Saturn in the 7th house, and a lot of the sign Pisces falling into this house as well. The energies to look at for your 7th house are Aquarius, Capricorn, and Pisces.

So you want...

... Someone open, friendly and independent... Responsible, loyal, and serious... And compassionate, caring, and sensitive...

And you would want this type of person because your own attitude towards relationships runs along similar lines. You'd like to keep some independence, yet also want deep commitment in a marriage, and you'd want to be able to share a transcendent emotional bond with your partner too.

There's a combination of factors to consider when interpreting houses.

But my 7th house starts in Capricorn. :O
I guess.
I understand the symbols of all the signs and planets.

I'm really confused about cusp rulers.

I was using this site to evaluate house cusps: http://astrology-numerology.com/housecusps.html

When they say "cusp" it makes me think of two houses being evaluated. I guess I was way off?

I'd like to learn how to be able to tell these same things in other people's charts as well.

And thank you so much! You're a very helpful person!

Your welcome!

The cusp is the beginning of a house. meaning, the exact degree that the house starts at. Your 7th house cusp is at 26 degrees Aquarius. Your entire 7th house, though, ranges from 26 Aquarius to 23 degrees Pisces (according to your natal chart image above). The cusp is important because the starting point of a house is particularly powerful and sensitive. However, any planets/sign within the span of your 7th house will be influential in your relationships.

Do you know which planets rule which signs?

How it works is that if a sign's on the cusp of a house (cusp, meaning the starting point of that house), then the planet ruling that sign is the cusp ruler.

Looking at your 7th house... Aquarius is ruled by Uranus... So if you have Aquarius on the 7th house cusp (the starting point of your 7th house)... Then Uranus is the ruler of your 7th house also.
