I never go after what I want because I feel like I'm not qualified or perfect enough. How do I stop being so critical of myself?

Good question. I'm afraid we're doomed to be so.

I have Virgo IC! I feel extremely Virgo-an. I have no idea how to stop other than to just let it go but it is VERY hard.

I don't have virgo ascendant but here is my 2cents.

Just take a plunge and keep in mind that you win some, you lose some =D
How to stop being so critical of yourself: do not strive too hard for absolute perfection. Have some friends who are supportive. Smack your own hand every time you feel like being harsh to yourself.

I'm an extreme perfectionist, on the border of OCPD and am my own harshest critic that it's ridiculous.

Same here...When I think I suck at something/something about me sucks, praising me won't change a lot. I'm like "ok, I believe you like it but I DON'T". On the other hand, other people's criticism doesn't impress me much.

Totally I understand
I have a Virgo rising and Virgo Moon.... feels so stupid we can do so many things for other people but when we really want something which is good for us... well we are stuck. You ask me to do something for someone else no problem. Like a Deer head light type thing. Getting started is a big problem....
You ask me to do something for someone else no problem.
It's so hard feeling stuck.

But I have been working on ....I am trying one baby step at a time. Each step takes forever... but I am working on it.
Whatever you need to do just do one step at a time don't think too much about it.

I don't have any virgo in my chart but I do have saturn in the 1st which makes me very hard on myself. There is always this negative voice inside my head that criticizes me & puts myself down. I'm trying to change all of that and I realize that the reason why I'm hard on myself is because of the lack of nurturing I got during my childhood. What helps me...I tell myself if an other person can do it, then I can too. I start ignoring this self critic inside of me & I tell myself that I am worthy of anything. It takes time to rewire your mind though.

I dunno. I dont feel this way. I go after what I want all the time. I guess it might help that my Mars is conjunct my Asc.

Thing is, its mental, you have to teach yourself to not be afraid of rejection. Harder than it sounds yeah, but it must be done.

And yes, I'm a guy!

GG?? ~! ^^
-----------------

When I feel myself being hypercritical of myself or others, I stop... when I'm wallowing in self doubt or pity, I stop... you get to that point where you recognize it as a neurotic and irrational waste of time and energy, you look inward and find the thing that you are most comfortable with (or proud of), within yourself, and you hold onto that, and push yourself out of that frame of mind which holds you back... it's a process of self realization and committing yourself to being more forgiving and accepting (of oneself and others in your life), and dropping some of those irrational expectations you hold yourself (or others) to, and letting yourself laugh, be foolish, and be confidant that whatever little hiccup or error you make isn't going to end your world, that the ripples in the water will calm again, and everyday you can and will be capable of facing whatever is thrown at you, because you are YOU, and you are a strong, healthy, extremely capable, and deserving person!

When you catch yourself being hard on yourself, stop! You are but one person... the weight of the world, whatever task at hand, is not yours alone, take a breath/break, and give yourself due credit, for being the incredible, multi-tasking fiend, Virgoan that you (likely) are! Your health is important, being Virgo... pamper yourself a little more often, and remember laughter is THE best medicine! <3

I have a lot of creative placements, but I have trouble expressing them. When I do create, my Virgoaness tells me that it's only good of it's perfect, and art is not perfect. It's hard for me to accept my own talents. I draw really well, but even as a kid I never felt that talented because my drawings weren't the way I wanted them to be.

Whenever I take a shot at something, I always feel inadequate, especially if someone else is doing it too and doing a better job.

i do not really have any virgo placements but i feel very virgoan- i can be very detail obsessed and feel like im not good enough unless i change xyz...

it holds me back but also has meant ive improved in many areas as well- its a double edged sword. i am very adaptable but at the same time i really like my routine and get upset if i cant keep it
