Cannot sleep.....

Do you think that all things can be found with astrology if studied long enough?

(Much like someone's genetic code which when combined with certain environmental factors creates certain characteristics but often only with those environmental factors.)

Or, do you think astrology can very much help to understand a person but that there is a lot astrology cannot explain ?

Lastly, do you think astrology is just for fun and really do not put to much stock into it?

I am a Cap/Scorpio/Cap....and I believe it can explain a lot, possibly even more than that however I've only been learning about it for 2 or 3 months so I am unsure yet.

I read up on other systems coz i get bored. My fav for prediction is bazi. My fav for psychoanalysis is western. Bazi to me is what ur life is/ will be like. Western is how u r and how u grow. Need to up my vedic game lol. I believe in it as well just that the sources available to us are not that great. I believe in seeking out readers but my friends here r pretty good at reading as well.

^ Interesting.

I think the potential is infinite, to develop one's understanding of astrology. I look at it like an art form, where the accepted knowledge is raw material, and the astrologer is like an artist putting together different kinds of truths, observations, predictions.

Sometimes I have stumbled across amazing things. For instance, one day I looked up the asteroids that were conjunct my planets and angles. The three girl names I had picked out for my next daughter, if I ever had another girl, were asteroids on my angles and planets.

Also, I just started learning about real (as opposed to sun sign) astrology a few years ago. I discovered that not only is my Venus conjunct my husband's Saturn (which makes sense), but transiting Pluto was conjunct our conjunction when we had our whirlwind courtship. (We got engaged after one date.)

It felt like destiny at the time and looks like destiny when I draw up the chart.

hopefully not far. Would you really want astrology telling you everything about life? just think if astrology told you everything about everything and everyone, what would be the point of life then?

but don't worry, it won't ever get that far :- )

Astrology is a science for me. It's a field of study, that's how I see it.The expression of aspects ( opposition, squares, sextiles and trines etc) may have a high accuracy but low precision because it may not carry the same impact of say person #1 and person #2 lives, who share the same aspects but may relate to each other.Like, for instance most capricorns relate to each other so much, it's like we talk the same language, we felt the same pain at some point in our lives, but we are different. So you can't with precision judge a person's character, but you can accurately determine the character of the person by studying the signs. I don't know if am making much sense here.

Astrology is one of my passionate hobbies. When I check people's natal I look for the hard aspects that are much easier to validate than trines for instance because they are more prominent in the person's personality. Am both Uranian and plutonian in nature, I easily attract both types, and vice versa. People of the same energies are likely to understand each other on a different level altogether. I won't make life changing decisions based on astrology though. I won't choose guy # 1 over guy #2 just because guy #1 has a better synastry with me. In fact, I will check my synastry with him ONLY if I feel connected with him, otherwise am too lazy to go check. I haven't checked the synastries or natals of my colleagues at work or my boss, but if I feel a plutonian or uranian energy from someone then I'm curious to validate how am feeling. So I don't know, it's def not for fun, I very much like to depend on my intuition when I make decisions not on astrology.

I astro talk with lilithpluto but we are bazi enthusiasts. I like it coz it really is like a dark art. But u can only be as powerful as u r meant to be. Also coz the bazi forum is an all male sausage party. They never answer my questions. I spent 2 years nagging everyone about my chart lol over there. It doesn't answer much about love/relationships tho.

I think it's amazing how much astrology can reveal once you've got some practice under your belt, and you've learned how to decipher it.

It's also important not to get caught up in silly stereotypes... You know, like Gems always cheat, Virgo's are anal retentive, and Libra's can't say 'no'... Each sign as a certain set of characteristics that can lead to a variety of outcomes depending on personal choice. Gem's craving for social/intellectual stimulation could lead to 'cheating' in a less evolved person... But if they're descent, maybe they just read a heck of a lot of books! Or became a social events magazine columnist. Silly stereotypes are a pet peev of mine. Unless it's just for humor, then I'm not so fussed about it.

My primary astrological focus is western, but yes I've also dabbled oriental astro, and Vedic. Western for sure is very psychological and personality based, with a definite slant to how we develop over time. I also love western for synastry analysis (I never fail to be astonished at how revealing synastry is). Vedic seems very fate/karma based, and is more focused on life events. Oriental has a personality focus too, and a predictive one, but I haven't really come to grips with the prediction part of it yet.

Just know that I'm a Snake year, with a Tiger hour, born in a Rat month, on a Goat day! So this means I'm refined and deep thinking, with a secret tendency to be forceful and Ferocious, an ability to find great Bargains, and a sensitive artistic streak.

Peregrin, do the different animals refer to different parts of your life/personality? I've been trying to get good information on this, but most books only cover the basics. Some books contradict each other.

^yes they do but not that directly. and it's a different system kinda like mixing western with say magi astro. like u can't necessarily say that u will be a tiger in your last years of life. but i remember u have read a bit on the subject too. like i only heard having a certain animal like swallow from you. so idk what u may have read up on... it might be more than me lol!

i should look more in my old threads. i remember another dude i bazi talk with that gave specific info on what the pillar meant. make a thread on it when i find it. i don't think it was time of life though just different parts of personality. which is easier to grasp for western practitioners.

bazi.

The year pillar is the outer you. You only see a small fraction of your year pillar in your personality and the year pillar stands for your younger years and grandparents

The month pillar is what people see of you, how you deal with relationships like family, parents, peers, business and talents.

The day pillar is YOU. It is the real self.

The hour pillar is what you strive to become. The hour pillar stands for old age and children if you ever think of having them.

oh and ps i tink ur pretty gud as well lotis... just that it wud be a long post if i mentioned moar peeps and i haz no air...
