Okay, I'll keep it simple. Here's a hypothetical (so there's no chart to post). Since synastry charts are all about receptivity, say an Aquarius has their sun trine someone's Saturn in Libra. Now, the sun is in fall in Libra, and Saturn is the traditional ruler of Aquarius. So... who would be attracted to whom? Granted, Saturn isn't known as the planet of attraction--Venus is--that's beside the point... who would be drawn to whom? IP: Logged |

I don't know if I understand the question but here it goes. You have two Sun signs Libra and Aquarius (in their fall and detriment) and Saturn where? Libra? ok it's exalted there or in Aquarius which it co rules. (am I right so far?) and your asking who would be attracted to who? Saturn/Aquarius to the Libra/Sun or Saturn/Libra to the Aquarian?it's probably a toss up but the Saturn/Libra would probably attract more. (based on these aspects alone) reason being Saturn attracts and holds, you feel a deep connection. It's not sexy but it is comfortably satisfying. Saturn in Libra is a powerful placement. ------------------ "For all those who believe, expect a miracle.” Linda Goodman 1925-1995 IP: Logged |

Yes, Saturn in Libra is a powerful placement, but here's something I thought of ... since the sun is not received well by Libra (being in fall), but Saturn would be received well (since it's Aqua's ruler), I was wondering if the Aqua sun person would attract the Saturn in Libra person more so than the other way around? Yes, Saturn is exalted in Libra and very powerful, but I'm talking about synastry, so it's about receptivity of each other's placements. Thanks for responding, btw.

By the way, to clarify, I wasn't focusing on the sun in Libra, but Saturn in Libra, only the sun in Aquarius. Two signs, different planets (or rather, one luminary, one planet). IP: Logged |

The reason I mentioned the Sun in Libra was due to the receptivity involved in synastry. Sun in Aquarius receiving (aka, "exchanging places with") Saturn in Libra---> becomes Sun in Libra versus Saturn in Aquarius. So, that may have been where the confusion was. But the root scenario/question is Sun in Aquarius trine Saturn in Libra and who attracts whom? IP: Logged |

Sun in Aquarius - Saturn in Libratheoretically speaking: Sun loves Saturn or at least is very focused on Saturn (as Aquarius is ruled by Saturn) Saturn: well, I think ther could actually be a range of emotional reaction. The simplest possibility would be that SAturn downright dislike Sun; but I often found that planets in fall or detriment result in a feeling of being overwhelmed and feeling "small", because the other`s presence is just "TOO MUCH", and that feeling might result in animosity, but sometimes also simply being overwhelmed. Sometimes it is a feeling of repulsion mixed with extreme fascination (though Saturn in your example probably would not admit it). But I think this is actually more workable then a placement without any kind of receptivity, which would simply point to disinterest or indifference.

Okay, I think I'm following you, but to clarify, are you saying that the Saturn in Libra person would feel overwhelmed by the Sun in Aquarius person, or the other way around? Also, thanks for your feedback. Looking forward to a follow-up response of yours if my follow-up question makes sense. lol

Yes, that is what I was saying, because Sun is in fall in Libra. However, this is only one possibility; in horary often this placement is associated with "dislike/loathing". But I have seen some horaries, where indeed it was rather a case of being totally overwhelmed by the other person. IP: Logged |

Okay, thanks for responding again... but which is it: the Libra Saturn person feeling overwhelmed by the Aqua Sun person, or the other way around? Saying "yes" when I gave two options doesn't tell me which one, lol. Thanks. IP: Logged |

You`re right. lol Saturn feels overwhelmed by Sun: or alternatively Saturn dislikes Sun.
Sun loves Saturn. No mixed feelings there. IP: Logged |
