It irks me at times, my sense of optimism!A friend was telling how he got mugged and he was feeling so bitter about the whole thing and here I was giving him a lecture on the good side of human kind! Then I felt kinda bad, because I think I should have just listened to him and be angry at the mugger and say the right things, it was not the right time to tell him about the 'good side of humanity'. Yeah, I need to say it, it makes me feel like a dumb fool afterwards cause for god sake the guy got mugged! Then someone else was telling me that some burglary took place in a temple, and I was surprised by what came out of my mouth,(and I'm sure you would be to!) I said it's a good thing that the burglar came to that place to commit his crime because God is not lacking in anything, had he gone to someone's else house it could have been much more serious! It's like I can't help myself NOT to be optimistic. Is it my Jupiter? But it only touches my sun, sextile at 5 degree orb, also trine my ascendant at -1 degree. IP: Logged |

is your jupiter a singleton? There is a joke about a child who discovers a room filled with manure on Christmas morning. He is delighted and immediately starts digging, declaring, “With this much horse crap, there’s got to be a pony in here somewhere!” That’s Jupiter taken a bit to the extreme. And so is the scene in the movie, “The Life of Brian,” which ends with the chorus happily singing at the Crucifixion, “Always Look on the Bright Side.” Both optimism and humor are Jovan qualities. http://www.astrologyclub.org/articles/singletons/jupiter/jupiter.htm IP: Logged |

NO, I am a little pessismistic about myself.I used to be much more pessismistic before than now however. It has changed a lot. I don't view things in such a negative way that I used to before. Believe me, it has changed tremendously! But I've taken note of this growing tendency to look at the bright side of things only recently. I want to know what's happening. My Jupiter is in Taurus, 4th house. No it's not a singleton. I have mars in Virgo. IP: Logged |

Aw that definitely sounds like Jupiter/Sag! Or even the 9th house? Do you have anything in the 9th/Sag?Check progressions and transits, too. I don't think it's a bad thing at all, but I can see how someone would be.. um.. surprised? or even upset, if you take this optimism too far. Sometimes people just want someone to share their pain/anger with.

Sag is my 12th house, which is empty. I have pluto in the 9th house. It's not a bad thing, actually it feels darn good! I feel different, like I zoom in on the good side of things like pretty fast. Being Cap rising, am not so used to being like this! True, that being a leo sun helps me in shining through the dark gloomy thoughts but it's not the same kind of 'good feeling'I've noticed this shift in my moods only recently. I've checked my transits, Jupiter is transiting my 6th house, Gemini right?. So not involving sag or 9th house here. I don't get it, does it make sense? can someone explain it to me? IP: Logged |

^^ Yeah I bet they are does neptune in sag has anything to do with it? lately have been wondering if I was always optimistic??( * suddenly things seem a little fuzzy* blame it on neptune semisq asc) like you know you say negative things out loud just so that you aren't disappointed if ever things don't turn out as you wanted when in reality you are hoping that things WILL get better. Well I was a lot like that. NOW...now, am like 'whatever happens am cool with it, there's a positive side to everything!' O.o IP: Logged |

Right, because..."there's a positive side to everything!" ~ I agree. Sag Neptune may be a big part of it, as you said. Plus in my case, it's trine and ruled by 9H Jupiter. Like my chart is just sucking that helium all the time. IP: Logged |

I consider myself practical first, and optimistic next...I wasn't always this way... I've been very dismal in my outlook, once upon a time... and still sometimes... that seeps to through the surface. Sagittarius dominant, 5th house Sun, Cap Mercury cnj Sagittarius Jupiter, and Neptune (my lovely stellium *harhar*)My dominant planet by way of either calculation is Mercury and Jupiter. ^^; Venus-Uranus also in Sagittarius, 9th house (Sagittarius house) Moon (Taurean though)... I think the moon lets the dismal in... (conjunct Chiron, wide opp to Saturn in Scorpio... yup... pretty sure that's where it comes from! haha) I try to see the good in everyone, and find a lesson in every experience, I've been known to give even a wicked person the benefit of the doubt, and I forgive quite easily (though I never forget a misdeed on my part or anyone else's for that matter), I have those terrible Sagittarius-related high-ideals, that I struggle to wrangle in to my triple Earth pit, lest they carry me away... lol I'm sometimes pretty darn gullible (never in crucial circumstances, Scorpion-senses I suppose - wary of danger)... My stellium there reaches out to just about every planet... so all my major houses, (the angular/dominant), all have Jupiterean influence on them. XD rosy-coloured-glasses..... yes, yes... I got a pair too!!! *we're the cool crowd* mwahahaha IP: Logged |

Another optimistic person here! ^^I think it's because of my Moon-Jupiter conjunction. This along with some other planets in the 9th house could add something to it. IP: Logged |

Since fire is the element of spirit, I think a chart with a lot of fire would belong to an optimist. Optimism could be stifled by the practicality of too much earth, the objectivity of too much air, or the sensitivity of too much water. In fact, one could argue that optimism is the premier quality of the fire elementIP: Logged |
