I go thru phases. I used to be a total night owl, but now I prefer to be an early bird, though I can't often do it, I do enjoy rising with the sun and soaking up as much daylight as possible. More daylight improves my mood. I love the night for different reasons (what is better than sitting on the beach stargazing, catching some shooting stars?)Nowadays I prefer to get up early.
Was born late in the evening.
My country was in communism till 1989 and at that time - we had only one channel on TV (a communist/national channel) which wasn't that entertaining... we had a 20 minutes cartoon show at 19:00 from Monday to Thursday, on Wednesday there was also a movie at 21:00, a documentary (Discovery/National Geographic like) hour on Friday followed by a movie, on Saturday we had a family show in the morning and a movie at 21:00 and on Sunday - we had the famous Dallas show at 21:00 PM.
Besides watching TV there wasn't much to do at that time - though, that was for the best - cause we used to play a lot of games outside... and with 300 neighbors in our building alone - there were a lot of kids of similar age to play with - though, i wasn't much of a group person - for most part had only 1 or 2 close friends.
...when the communist period was over - foreign companies started diving in - like TV cable companies and from 1 boring TV channel to 6 - TV started to be more interesting - especially at night time... ^^ - when my parents went to sleep... i used to sneak up in the other room and watch TV till early in the morning - with one ear on the door and the other on TV (the volume was set to 1 bar). But even so... i had toooons of energy at that time - with only 3 - 4 hours sleep - was still very energetic during day time...
... latter - the video game industry started evolving - and i had a passion for that as well... even more things to do at night time - was just me and "my own world". ^^
...as a teenager - found a group of seclusive friends with same interest - at first there was Play Station - then net clubs (as the internet was released)... even got a job at one during the mid high-school period - yet, was more fun than work and that continued one or two years after high school - at that point the internet moved in people's home and most net clubs started shutting down... I had a PC at home as well - so i kept on for a bit longer... till i started working in all kind of daytime jobs and started changing my old routines.
I like the Sun in the morning (my body does need some Sun light) but i can't spend to much to much time in the Sun... and i dislike heat waves (like the ones from summer time) - they get me so dizzy during that time - that I'd rather be all day in water during that period.
Daylight... can improve my mood - but around a close friend - my mood is more than fine even in night time. ^^
