As humanity enters the Aquarian age, space travel and planetary colonization are at the brink of accessibility. I find myself wondering how astrology will endure, or evolve rather, once humans have settled in new star systems. Will we develop a new zodiac using the constellations around our new home? What role will original home, the solar system, play? However, these are questions that can only be answer by the generations to come. Yet, terraformation and colonization of Mars could be possible within our lifetime. If that is to be the case, how would the humans of Mars apply astrology to their lives? This idea is so exciting to me! My mind is overflowing with questions! What roles with will the Martian moons Phobos and Deimos play? Will Earth's moon still have an influence? What sign does Earth rule? etc. I would love to read any thoughts on this subject!

Different star systems?
That would not be for millions of years hahaha
Unless aliens decide to befriend us!

I bet it heliocentric astrology would be used if we're living in space

I have a feeling humans would be born on earth because the conditions in space may alter our genetics too much. I can't imagine healthy human babies in space.

It's confusingggg, but it hinges on where you were born. If you were born on Mars, then entirely you'd have Earth in your chart instead of Mars. But if you just colonised Mars and lived there, you'd still have the same natal chart, but experience Martian transits? Exciting.

And other star systems, same thing, but imagine having a totally different natal chart! Different constellations/signs, different planets...ohhhh it sounds so fun.

Generally speaking, and based on my own ideas of why astrology works, I think that whatever the stars are named and associated with deep down will have their effect. It's a metaphysical force shaped by our collective unconscious of myths, so for example, someone born on Mars would have their fear affected by the 2 moons (Phobos and Deimos) there, and I suppose Earth's position would affect them in a similar way that Mars would otherwise, only instead of generating Mars passion it would moderate it, help them be "more down to Earth."

The part that teases my mind is creating houses, especially if you were born on an asteroid or even a space station. Even being born on Io orbiting Jupiter (or a space station orbiting Io orbiting Jupiter) might make astrology software mandatory.

Being born in deep space sounds even weirder...I would guess that the name of the starship would have an affect (for example, if named The Demeter then it would affect marriages, fertility, and perhaps likelihood of finding a good planet to colonize), but it seems very complicated otherwise. And I wonder if there was enough separation from the humans of Earth if the "collective unconscious" would still affect them as maybe that only has a range (where auras & spirits are linked by a greater aura) of a single planet or star system (because if it didn't then I don't believe astrology would either).

But the concept that teases my mind the most is contemplating birth in some other-dimensional hyperspace.

Yessss like if you found another solar system with planets and named them after different past deities, then the concepts behind those deities, and therefore names, would be the new astrology. I'd hate to think someone would get greedy and name a planet after themselves...lmfao!

Millions of years is an exaggerations! Don't underestimate humanity's power. The past century is proof that science and technology develop at an exponential rate. We are discovering more information about habitable planets daily. And the same goes for rocket science and interstellar space travel. Plus, there is probably clandestine technology and science in development that would blow the average mind. I'm not saying interstellar travel is in our foreseeable future, but it isn't out of the question to to think we will have reached this goal by 2300-2500. But I agree that heliocentric astrology is probably the norm throughout the galaxies. Actually, it has been determined that binary star systems are more than common, so we will need to develop a form of astrology that incorporates two suns!
