I had thought to post this topic a while back, but I just could not find the right way to present it, well, here it goes...I'm a movie buff and a astrology nerd. Through this I truly believe the adage "Art imitates Life!" and the same could be said when it comes to the stars.
Here are a couple of examples I came up with:

1.) 9 1/2 Weeks - (1986) Starring: Mickey Rourke and Kim Basinger
My verdict: Definitely, Pluto-Venus connection and here is why I say this. Kim Basinger (Elizabeth) is a beautiful, blonde divorcee who is an art curator at a posh Manhattan art gallery. While out grocery shopping with her friend/roommate for a dinner party that night she meets John(Mickey Rourke)a dark, yet handsome businessman whom when they exchange looks Elizabeth(Venus) is bedside herself and squirms under John's(Pluto)intense, furtive gaze from then on they embark on a Dom./sub. relationship complete with mind games and great sex for 9 1/2 weeks. 9 1/2 weeks that changed them forever......
2.) My Fair Lady (1964): Starring Rex Harrison and Audrey Hepburn
My Verdict: Saturn-Moon is the culprit!
Prof. Henry Higgins(Rex Harrison/Saturn)along with the kinder Colonel Pickering take in Eliza Dolittle(Moon)for six months to train her to pass as a genteel lady in time for the Embassy Ball through the mastery of articulate speech. During this time Pro.Higgins antics and blantant disregard for Eliza's feelings could make him a bigger heel than the drill instructor from,"Full Metal Jacket". In the end they stay together(I couldn't do it)
3.) The Lover (1992) Starring: Tony Leung Ka-Fai and Jane March
My Verdict: Saturn-Venus "The unrequited love" aspect.
This beautiful, but sad love story takes place in 1920's Indochina where a young, pretty, French girl(Venus)meets a wealthy, older Chinese man(Saturn) on a ferry crossing the river to Saigon. He offers her a ride to school in his limo where in the backseat forbidden passions slowly ignite between the mismatched pair. Eventually, they begin a illicit affair where she meets and couples with him in his bachelor pad which is customary for a man of his pedigree. They love each other deeply, but outside forces make it almost impossible for it to be actualized in the external world because of the shame that would come with it if it got out they were seeing each other. Years later they reconnect through letters, in one of the letters the older man admits he still is in love with her.
These were just a few examples...

I don't know, exactly? I assume it could be
just Saturn conjunct Venus. It's interesting
when I watched the movie it seemed the older
man(Tony Leung Ka-Fai)character or Saturn could admit he loved her more than the young girl(Jane March)Venus could admit she loved him. It was like she was in denial, until that moment she was on the ship back to France, when she cried uncontrollably, only then she realized at that moment she loved him.

The Devil Wears Prada: Miranda's Saturn had to be all over Andy's Mercury. Or maybe Miranda's Pluto in Andy's 9th or 10th house? And I'm guessing Emily and Andy had opposing Venuses

I got another one: Vicky Christina, Barcelona:

Juan Antonio(Javier Bardem)with Christina(ScarJo): Venus-Mars?

Juan Antonio with Vicky(Rebecca Hall):a light Venus-Mars?

Lastly, Juan Antonio with ex-wife, Marie Alaina(Penelope Cruz):A hard aspect between Mars and Pluto or Venus-Pluto.

Mean Girls: I think Regina has the Sun and Lilith in Leo plus Venus conjunct Pluto. Maybe Cady's Sun is on top of Regina's Venus/Pluto? Gretchen and Karen's Suns in Regina's 11th house make me think 'Army of Skanks'

Cool topic! I made one about this a few years back. I was thinking of doing another one but andstuff beat me to it with her The New Girl thread lol :-)

Anyways, the USA show "Suits" comes to mind. Jessica Pearson is DEFINITELY Saturn and Harvey Spectre is DEFINITELY Mars. I'd say their relationship is equivalent to a Saturn quincunx Mars because at times, Jessica grounds Harvey and sets him on a responsible path (she is his boss. That is the trine side of their quincunx. At other times, they are at cross purpose so that is the opposition side of their quincunx.

Mike Ross is definitely Mercury, Rachel Zane is Venus, Louis Litt is Uranus, and Donna is a mix of Ascendant/Mercury/Moon to Harvey. Its an amazing show!

------------------
Gemini Sun
Libra Moon
Gemini Mercury
Cancer Venus
Virgo Mars
Virgo Asc

And yes, I'm a guy!

i agree. this is how being in a relationship with me is. i am venus pluto dominant.

adrian lyne the director even played with both actors' minds during filming. they were never allowed to be alone together and lyne would tell lies the other said about one another...

I wonder about the astrology of "Eyes wide shut" with Kidman and Tom Cruise. That was tremendous.

Match Point, with Scarlett Johannson and Jonathan Rhys Meyers... definitely a positive Venus-Pluto aspect [like the trine] but worse in the end, they were the personification of harsh Mars-Pluto and/or Mars-Saturn square. Jonathan was attracted to Scarlett's raw sensuality, and things were hot between them. But reality came into the picture and beyond the steamy and somewhat kinky sex [ties = blindfolds!], Jonathan completely turns and does anything to preserve his future with the girl he's supposed to wed and start a family with, not Scarlett, his siren and girl on the side. It's the definition of the boiling point of a Mars-Pluto square, intense and dangerous passions. I feel the what awful thing Jonathan does to Scarlett is Mars-Saturn, but I won't give it away.

Fun fact, it's the only Woody Allen movie I've thoroughly enjoyed!

I am a HUGE Woody Allen fan. I like almost every single one of his productions with some exceptions, of course. I like the dialogs and the sudden turn of events and the inevitable, complicated triangular relationships

Fun topic. I've thought of using scenes from movies to illustrate synastry aspects, that is, if and when I teach an astrology class.

There's a bedroom scene in a Woody Allen movie "Annie Hall," when he and the Diane Keaton character are talking about sex. He's Mars and she's Saturn. lol
