I've read that Venus aspects to Pluto (I'm specifically thinking of the trine) makes for a "great passionate affair" that is not meant to last.Is there anyone here in a relationship that's lasted four or more years with this aspect? IP: Logged |

Mine has lasted for more than four years =)It's deep and intense. We also have a lot of saturn contacts so the relationship is very binding. IP: Logged |

I would think you would have to look at other aspects in the chart to see if the venus/pluto will last. For instance some saturn contacts...maybe NN and neptune contacts? What do you think? IP: Logged |

In your Venus-Pluto trine with your S.O., who is the Venus and who is the Pluto?

Aqua,Venus-Pluto contacts are insanely powerful. They're even enough to turn a level headed Cap Venus (me) into a jibbering mess!!! I guess the only thing I would warn of with this placement is the almost obsessive desire to control the other person, to know what they are doing ALL the time. it's a cant sleep/cant eat/cant function without them kind of aspect. And when you do finally get to sleep...they haunt your dreams. Just go with the flow and enjoy it. It's a very strong connection and there's no reason why it shouldnt last ------------------ Fish~Lion~Bull IP: Logged |

I don't presently have this aspect with my S.O., I've just had it a lot in past relationships and I was curious because I read that sentence in the simplified compatibility tool on a website and it always felt like a knock in the teeth when I read it/when it would come up. Of course, those relationships were all very passionate/tumultuous... And did not last.IP: Logged |

It would make sense to me that is would depend on if there is Saturn. And yes, I can feel the difference with my current S.O. we have Mars-Pluto but no Venus-Pluto and while it feels lovely and intimate, it's not as obsessive as it was with my ex. Interestingly, we have all hard aspects to Pluto in the composite but you can't "feel" a composite like you can synastry, so... IP: Logged |

It was the simplified compatibility tool from this popular website: http://www.0800-horoscope.com/compatibility.php. CafeAstrology uses a similar one. I couldn't help but notice, though, that CafeAstrology reworded their Venus trine Pluto description and a few of the other aspects to make them sound less "harsh" and fatalistic. Even though there's no moon involved in the analysis, it panned out for me in every relationship just like it said it would so I'm relieved to hear that others came through the Venus/Pluto just fine IP: Logged |

It's interesting that you mentioned this, about obsessing over what they say and do at every moment. Pluto is known as the planet of obsession, and I was the Pluto trining my ex-girlfriend's Venus, yet she was the one constantly calling me, even seeing me where I used to work (in person, saying hello, which I welcomed, but have to admit, was surprised to see her). I thought about her a lot, but never pursued her to the extent she pursued me. She also initiated our relationship, visiting me at a previous store I used to worked at. So, I have to wonder if, even though Pluto is known, among other things, as the planet of obsession, if that may translate into the other person obsessing over the Pluto person when one of their planets (in this thread's case, Venus) aspects Pluto. Absolutely, infact I wonder if it's harder in a way being the venus person. I think the obsessive desire is just as intense in the venus as it is the Pluto. I always think of Richard Burton and Liz Taylor when I hear this synastry aspect (I dont know if they have it) - cant live with, cant live without. IP: Logged |

^^ I was the venus....he was the pluto. At first we were equally enthralled. Then he became obsessed and would keep tabs on me....and then let it slip that he was. lol Then after he told me he loved me, I became obsessed. And he became distant and it fell apart.
(It wasnt a relationship at all. So we had 0 days in a real relationship.) Oh and we fought a lot. I still cant get him out of my mind. I havent really spoken to him informally and for more than 2 minutes in over 11 months. I think Im ocd about him. Sucks. I was the coold detached one initially. Great karma huh? lol I have to consciously stop thinking abt him. I dont think it affected him at all anymore. IP: Logged |

You've actually described perfectly what I was trying to say. The venus seems to fall deeper and continues to be most deeply affected by the relationship. In my experience the Pluto does move on, or at least they find it easier to do so.
and I started this thread so optimistic as well... IP: Logged |

yes, over 4 years.Synastry: Venus Conjunct Pluto exact, and Venus Trine Pluto @ 2. Composite: Venus Sextile Pluto. natals: he has pluto in the first house and i have pluto conjunct sun and mars at almost exact degrees. so we're both very pluto/obsessive types. also lots of saturn. venus opposite saturn one way but venus trine saturn another. and saturn in a 7th house. plus one cap/saturn moon in someone's 5th house. very stable so far.
