That is what I liked about Bjork, it was just weird and made little sense, but was well done. Prodigy was fun, my goodness that was a minute ago, but Visser's work reminds me of the same sort of vibe. For the longest of time I didn't even watch their videos. Prodigy I mean. I understand though the idea behind making shocking and disturbing "art", I think I can appreciate that but I do agree that Die Antwoord seem OTT to say the least. And yeah, kinda silly. The rhythm becomes kinda catchy if you listen long enough which I suppose is why they are remotely successful. That and being weirdish for the sake of it.
I always thought Gaga was OTT and just weird for the sake of it. But ppl like her. Oddly she's an Aries. ugh

Well, bc the music mkt is globalized having a artsy act from the RSA w/a catchy rhythm is marketing gold add in the semi dark vids and I'd bet they are aimed at early 20 somethings who consider themselves "edgy" Prodigy is great workout music, but have not bothered with them for a while, how many times can you hear "I'm the fire starter"? As for Gaga...hehe..they should pay her in green apples..that horse face needs to be fed..

Their band is art...
Its not about the content of the lyrics, or the music.
They aren't actually this trashy, they made their entire life into this show.
This band is only going to have a certain amount of albums and then their done.
Its like a parody of music today.
Obviously old people won't understand it, being from another generation and all.
Actually they're videos are respected in art world.... My creative directing teacher likes their videos and used them as an example.
Th best art is provocative, the more reactions it gets, the better. If the video is going to give you nightmares then its obviously successful lmao..duh.. Oh and why are we mentioning lady gaga she just copied other famous artists. Her music is catchy but thats about it.. IP: Logged |
