Ok so from the center you count counter clockwise houses to the 9th house.

So in somethingexcellent^s lagna chart, the 9th house has a number 5 (this corresponds to the sign). The 5th number correlates to the leo...simha/ see rasi/zodiac sign. And this person has no planets there.

Now if we take that 9th house...which represents your destiny, fate, marriage life....and we dissect it.. we get the navamsa chart.

Each quadrant in the lagna chart can be dissected and looked into more depth. This is called a navamsa chart because it is a dissection or indepth study of the 9th house...which is nau or nava.

The reason why the navamsa chart has a lot of importance is that Hindus tend to study horoscopes when their kids are getting ready to get married, supposed to select a career or for educational purposes.

All of that relates to the 9th house.

Also it is said that after a person reaches a maturity or adulthood is when the 9th house really comes into effect and this is the time that most Hindus focus on and consider the most important.

Anyway. If in the lagna chart you have a planet that is severely debilitated or extremely exhalted one looks at the navamsa chart to see the extent to exhaltation and debilitation. If you have a powerful saturn but in your navamsa chart it is afflicted...then you will get a middle of the road result.

Actually when you start reading about your own chart you just come to pick up other aspects.

The moon represents mother, emotions.
It is represented by milk, pearl, white.

So basically if someone has either an aspect of saturn or moon it is not a very compatible association. It is like the squares and oppositions we read about in western astro.

They simply clash.

Reason is saturn is a stern, teachers while moon is the caring motherly love. They are simple not compatible.

Saturn and sun are incompatible too.

Depending on your aspects moon in 10th even with a saturn aspect can be a good thing for you.

There are yogs or yogas aka planetary dynamics that take place. For example, if your moon is in the 10 house in the sign of libra and your saturn is in the first house in the sign of karka aka cancer then in effect the houses just flipped their natural ownerships. Both houses now have a parivartan yoga.

This makes adds a boost to the effect both planets have. Even though they are aspected or enemies.
