Manglik is when Mars is positioned in 2nd,8th and 12th from lagna or from the chandra rasi.

Kal Sarpa is when all planets are hemmed in between Rahu and Ketu.

not transits per se, it's a cycle of 120 years of all planetary positions from the moon rasi ( nakshatra). There are 27 nakshatras, each nakshatra will be under the ruled of planets, each planet will have 3 nakshatras under its rule, each nakshatra has 4 padas, it comes 108 equivalent to the number of beads in a ''mala''
Each pada has a governing God. All the planets Mahadasa will equal to 120 years.

Pancha Mahapurusha Yoga

Also known as the five yogas of great people. When a planet ( excluding moon and sun) is exalted in a kendra house or when it is positioned in its own sign. Like Venus is exalted in 7th house.

I have seen this before in the charts of famous people.

@ Astrokeen

I can see you sun is in swati nakshatra, sun is rather uncomfortable in that nakshatra since it is the nakshatra of Rahu. All the four padas of this nakshatra falls in the sign of Libra which is an airy sign, so your sense of self may be undermined at times, you may want to be independent but can't or be flustered in life because you are indecisive or wanting to take a decision at the right moment but missed. The Sun also represents the father, it being in the sign of Rahu. I don't know how your relationship with your father is but most of the lagna charts have had the opportunity to read when Rahu is associated with the Sun there is some kind of rift/separation/discordance with the paternal figure.

However, since swati is also governed by the Godess Sarawasti, you most likely wish for harmony and peace with your people who surround you. It is also the Goddess of knowledge, refined arts, Venus being in the sign of Libra, and Mercury being in its own sign, you must have had higher education ( or is pursuing or want to pursue) in artistic fields. This nakshatra is also considered to be passive and movable since your sun ( sense of self/ego) is in Pada 1, its influenced will be felt when you want to take a decision. Libra is your 4th house, sun in your 4th house shows you give much importance to your home, your domestic environment, natural 4th house lord Moon is in 7th house capricorn, lord of capricorn is in H4. This exchange of lordship takes place in H4 houses and linked back to your H7. You are quite an emotional person but reserved when you HAVE to show your feelings although feelings run really deep. There is much emphasis on these two houses since your lagnadhipathi Moon is her own house cancer natural 4th house. Moon, however when she is in Aslesha pada 1 indicates that you might have quite a sharp tongue that may cause rifts with people you care about.

@Astrokeen

Your venus, Lord of 4th house ( a kendra) and lord of 11th house being in the sign of VIshaka is quite fortunate, you have a very passionate nature when you love. I'd say you are ready to go to the extreme in matters of the heart

Tell me do you write? or play music?

Your 9th Lord ( I particulary like to look at the 9th lord because it is the Dharma Lord) is the natural 9th Lord Jupiter and positioned in your 2nd house Leo, ruler sun in your 4th house with saturn ruler of the 7th house, with natural 7th house ruler venus.

Your Jupiter is in the nakshatra Magha, which is infact ruled by Ketu, so you see the link between ketu and the sun. There is a bit of a discordance among vedic astrologers that says Jupiter in Leo( royal sign of the sun) is not so great. Here I can see your 9th lord is quite strong Astrokeen and it is in your 2nd house.

Hi Jessica,

Thanks a lot. To answer some of your queries: yes, I am involved with higher education, both studying and teaching wise, and the arts as well. I write and publish educational resources.

I do have very reliable female friends. Why do you ask?

Could you say what the significance of the 9th lord in my 2nd house is. You said it was quite strong.

The thing that intrigues me is how there are key differences in the Sun and the Moon signs. Also, it is mystifying why some positions match whilst others don't.

In western astrology I have the following:
Sun - Scorpio - 3rd house
Moon - aqua - 7
Asc- Leo - 1
Jupiter - Leo - 1 (same as Vedic)
Pluto - Leo - 1
Mercury- Libra - 3
Mars - Libra- 3
Neptune- Libra - 3
Venus - Scorpio - 4
Saturn - Scorpio -4

If the qualiites of the planets are the same in both systems, then me having a Libra stellium in Western would endow me with many qualities of a Libra Sun sign in Vedic. Anyhow I have a cusp Oct 26th birthday. The Moon is in the 7th for both but in Capricorn in Vedic. The qualities for Venus in Vedic would fit in well with my Scorpion nature and Venus in Scorpio. It seems there may be many similar qualities that emerge via another route between the two systems. Would you agree?

Yes. If you look at the below grid at the status column, Jupiter is a 'great friend' Jupiter is the natural 9th Lord. The 9th lord is the lord of Dharma. Your rewards in this birth, sometimes this lord is weak so rewards are lacking or insufficient to offset the difficult times. The 2nd house is the House of possessions, fortune, profits, all materialistic gains. Having you Lord of Dharma sitting in this house is highly fortunate In addition Jupiter is both lords of 9th and 6th for cancer ascendants. 6th house is a house of enemies and diseases and colleagues. The reason why I asked you about female friends, I saw Rahu in youtr H11 in navamsa and moon in H6.

It is somewhat confusing to me too TBH.Am still learning and there is so much to learn.

When I read a lagna chart, I don't look at the western chart at all because the nakshatra signs will NEVER be off, I can assure you of THAT much. The key to Vedic, IMHO,is the nakshatra signs in which the planets are. They are the key to everything.

Your Venus is in Vishaka, in its own house, she is happy there! When you are in love, you will likely love deeply. Your sun is in debilitated state however at 8 degree in Libra.

Thanks Jessica. I've only just begun to scratch the surface of the western system - the Vedic appears to be even more complex! Would love to able to understand and use the predicitive facilities it offers.
