My boyfriend has this placement and we struggle a lot with our communication.

I'm a fire sun with a water moon. Any thoughts on how water signs with earth moons communicate differently from people with fire suns and water moons?

I'm interested in how water placements influence personalities based on what planet they're in.

My nephew is Cancer, Moon in Cap and I am Sag, Moon in Virgo. Also having an Earth Moon has been very helpful in understanding him. I think the key to any earth Moon is to understand they express and connect emotionally, in a different way than water Moons.

Having feminine polarity, we enjoy the benefit of perceiving the deeper aspects of emotion, but must respond and interact with those depths in a physical or material way. Water Moons on the other hand, must respond in an emotional or psychological way. This can cause issues if either person expects the other to interact with emotions like they do. For a water Moon being with, exposure, vulnerability, trust, comfort, sharing, support, and enjoyment are all ways of expressing emotional appreciation. For an earth Moon effort, inclusion into one's personal plan, materialization of goods and services, touch, example, attention to one's material/physical health, and usefulness are all ways of expressing emotional appreciation.

Water and Fire Sun are both tailored to experience emotion, but fire is generally connected to the passionate side of emotion, where water is drawn to the more sentimental side. It is very possible for water and fire to get along, but the relationship is often about courtesy and temperament.

I think when both types of people do not understand the unique inter workings of each other it is easy to fall into miscommunication. One being a passionate person with sentimental needs and the other being a sentimental person with material needs certainly shows a sentimental connection. It's just how that sentiment is expressed which could be causing the problem.

Keep in mind, material does not specifically mean "monetary". A Virgo Moon (for example) will show they care by being of service, they will cook, clean, and bother with the health of their loved ones. With Taurus Moon, the focus is more on providing sensual enjoyment, making their lover feel good physically by providing quality comfort, food, drink, and touch. With Cap Moon the focus is mostly on provision, working hard to afford a watertight roof over your head, saving money for vacations to nice places, being capable of taking care of your every need, having the financial freedom to live the life you want. These are all ways a Capricorn Moon shows emotional love. The perspective is, "Why say I love you, when I can make you something which proves it?"

I am a Cancer Sun w Capricorn Moon. I do not do well with water moons EXCEPT Scorpios! This might be due to my own Hades Moon....I thrive around fire and air moons! Other Earth Moons are "meh"..

My best friend has this combination. She can be very sensitive, idealistic, warmed easily by things she sees that are romantic, but at the same time she can be pragmatic, take charge and responsible, and cool in times of crisis and tough situations. She knows how to reserve her emotions sometimes a little too well even with people she knows well concerning very trying events like talking about things that bother her deeply. But it shows she has a store of emotional strength. Her Moon grounds her watery nature. It keeps her from getting too in the clouds and dreamy, and too overly sensitive.

A person with a water Sun and earth Moon will probably communicate differently than a fire Sun and water Moon. Most of the time, we find that the first combo will have a more grounded emotional self. They might be sensitive individuals, dreamy, artistic, or very intuitive, but they might find themselves being more emotionally pragmatic and not as messy with their feelings; reserving them in public or certain situations but still conveying depth in their personalities that comes with a water Sun naturally. On the other hand, a fire Sun and water Moon might have a harder time with this since they can be very outgoing, vivacious and passionate but in a less sensitive way than the person with the water Sun is when showing their outside selves, but more moody, emotional, and unexpectedly sensitive or unforgiving in their inner child/inner self than the earth Moon person is. So the water Moon might feel that the earth Moon is too logical when it comes to intimacy, deeper feelings, and emotional displays, even though they appear more emotional on the outside... they might become frustrated that it doesn't run DEEPER.

My brother is a Gemini (sorry, not a Cancer to contribute more to this thread), but with a Cap Moon. I'm Aqua Sun and Moon. Not a free-flowing combination for communication, imo. Cap Moons seem to take everything in, but express only if it suits them, if they can get something useful out of it. Venting doesn't isn't their forte (from experience with my brother) either.

I have learned about myself today that I'm not very affectionate, but I like receiving affection. I find it awkward to give affection to someone, but I gladly accept it. I express my affection through words, not touch. Wonder if that's my Sun in Aries, Venus in Aquarius vs. my Moon & Mercury in Pisces. Even in our sex life, I prefer to sleep in a separate bed (I'm a light sleeper), and I like sex without much foreplay. I'm not very into kissing or cuddling.
