I get so incredibly FRUSTRATED with earth signs!! I won't go into any sort of rant regarding my particular exasperations with them, but I just *do not* get along with any Cap, Taurus, or Virgo. My chart is a pretty even split between fire and water (completely void of any air), but I do have a Neptune singleton in Cap (due to it being my only planet in an earth sign).Would the singleton have something to do with this?? What gives with me being unable to get along with earth people?! IP: Logged |

Wow. I'm very sorry to hear that. Really sucks to be you. (*triple earth sign here) Do you usually know their sign first or later find out they're an earth sign after figuring out you don't like them? Knowing earth signs, they probably don't like you either. So, i'd not worry too much about it. Sometimes people can't take our laid-back, blunt nature. IP: Logged |

^Yeah that too! Do you dislike them because they're an earth sign or do you dislike them and you find out they're an earth sign, after the fact? IP: Logged |

Haha! I actually always know their sign IMMEDIATELY...I can just tell when I meet one. What's funny about what you said is that I am also suuuper blunt, so it's not that which makes me not like them (I'm a Sag sun, with 4 planets and MC in Sag as well)...actually it's the only part of them I enjoy. I'm not sure what it is. I dont't want to get nitpicky or rude, because I hate when people get offensive on these boards, but what I can't stand the most is how...idk, I guess stubborn or set in their ways they are? They don't seem laid-back to me at all...a lot of those signs seem to take themselves a little TOO seriously, and think their opinions or methods must transcend all else. I think I just got rude, but there's my bluntness rearing its ugly head, eek. And you're right--they probably don't like me either!! IP: Logged |

Let me check. Will edit in a sec! EDIT: hmm, I couldn't find Ares (I think you're talking about asteroids right??), but my Hermes is in 8H Scorpio conjunct Venus. IP: Logged |

I'm in the same boat being mostly fire and water but I have a special LOVE for earthy people. Some may step over your toes quite often and be somewhat boring but I think with all that movement within my chart, I LOVE the idea of someone who is earthy because they help balance my tendency to not be on task. The only downside to them is that they can be very stoic and feel very cold and separate. But when you understand their background, you won't be so taken aback by them.

(Ps. I use toe Greek names l o l so Hermes/Ares = Mercury/Mars...)But you're lots of Sagittarius, eh? Well maybe that's it! Sagittarius is super spontaneous and impulsive while earth signs in general are pretty mellow and easy going...so maybe you want them to be like you when really they're fine how they are! Oh! Sorry, after I couldn't find Ares I thought you were probably using the Greek. My Mercury is in 9H in Sag (which is Scorpio cusp, but goes into Sag), and my Mars is conjunct my ASC in Pisces. Maybe I want them to be like me?? I'm not sure though...I don't experience this irk with ANYONE else, and there are a ton of signs unlike me. IP: Logged |

Well, I hate to tell you this but even though you don't have planets in earth, you still have earth in your chart. What houses are the earth cusps on, in your chart? When we lack something in ourselves/charts, being around people who are heavy in that element/quality can make us feel uncomfortable. I'd pay more attention to them if I were you. Since you are lacking earth, they definitely have something to teach you. Their planets falling in your empty houses/elements are shining a light on things you might not be in touch with in yourself yet. Who's going to place a bet that she falls in love with an earth sign within a year and takes all this back? (you sound young enough to)
$100 bucks. I'm in. You'll be eating your words at some point girly. Probably when you get older and wake up to how bleepin' awesome we are! lol (Leo planet slipping out. being silly now. oops!) IP: Logged |

It's sounding like maybe the earth signs you meet personal planets make hard aspects to your own personal planets. Might be good if you found someone who had Sun in Gem, Venus in Taurus, for example. I little earth peppered throughout their chart here and there, along with planet's that also aspected well with your planets. Too many trines and sextiles can make for a boring relationship. You want some hard aspects with people. IP: Logged |

Yeah... I've known quite a few Sagittarians, and they usually get quite irritated with the fact that it is difficult to get earth signs to open up and just be fun/free/humorous/spontaneous. To be fair, this goes both ways though (earth signs usually would like for Sadges and other fire signs to tone it down a bit, as they sometimes seem disingenuous). As a Virgo (with lots of fire and 3 planets in Sagittarius myself), I get irritated with the Sagittarians sometimes only because they don't seem to understand my natural reserve/anxiety over what other people think. SOMETIMES things are serious and just 'cheering up' or 'getting over it' will not help (very often this is Sadge-y advice- or they gloss over the deep feelings involved). We actually take our emotions seriously, and because earth signs are often wrought with insecurities, it can feel like Sagittarians are actually making fun of us instead of trying to lighten the mood. I will have moments of fun spontaneity, but I shut down when pushed, and sometimes fire signs push too hard or unnecessarily. That being said... Sometimes there are just signs you don't get along with right off the bat. I used to almost always have problems with Geminis immediately upon meeting them (that has since changed because I've tried to be more understanding of where they are coming from). I also often have problems with fixed signs because I have so little fixed influence in my own natal chart. It's just a lack of understanding that really causes this friction most of the time (in my case anyway). So, something to think about... IP: Logged |

Hahaha...I can actually totally see something like that happening!! My DSC is in Virgo...even though I'm verrrrry hesitant about admitting a Virgo might be good for me. Maybe earth aggravates me so much because they DO have something to teach me, but in my true Sag style I think I am philosopher extraordinaire and can't be bothered by more practical applications of my time or knowledge. I'm not *opposed* to befriending or learning from earth signs by any means, it's just in my experience they leave me feeling totally underwhelmed because of how obsessed with details and achieving/maintaining "soundness" they seem...I guess that's true according to what somethingexcellent pointed out with all my Sag energy. I agree that I can often gloss over deep feelings involved, but my Cancer moon actually makes me incredibly attuned to others' emotions and so I usually know when to stop pushing or when someone is getting uncomfortable. However, I never really thought about earth signs thinking I was poking fun instead or trying to lighten the mood or get them out of a slump....definitely something to keep in mind. IP: Logged |

Earth houses: 3, 7, 11....all empty. As far as what we lack: I have a TOTAL void of any air planets (albeit, you're right--I do have air houses), and I absolutely love air signs. I don't know what it is about earth...that's why I started the thread, to see if anyone had any suggestions for what in a chart might lend to such an immediate aversion.
