Education: "I was very athletic when I was young - played a
lot of sports. I was also a bookworm - kind of a nerd. I
remember having to wear glasses that were always taped
together because I would break them playing football. When I
turned about 13, 14, everything changed for me - I just fell
in love with music and started playing guitar (loud electric
guitar - it was more like noise than music). I would practice
up to 8 hours a day, before and after school - it was my
passion!"

project: Nights of Fire! - World Music and Dance Production

On his music: "My music is a fusion of styles - Rock with
Flamenco (Rockmenco), Cuban Salsa, African rhythms, Brazilian
Samba…I love to take people on a musical journey. I can't read
or write music, I'll just see it in my head. It's the best job
in the world. We get to travel, we get to touch people. You
get instant feedback. How often do you get that? It's just
passionate, very heartfelt music. I strive for originality in
my music and live shows - to push the boundaries of
traditional Nuevo Flamenco/Spanish guitar. With a stage full
of world class musicians and elaborately choreographed dancers
I hope this show appeals to the hearts and souls of people of
all ages, cultures, and musical boundaries - the response has
been overwhelming so far! It's the best job in the world."

Upcoming tours: "Nights of Fire! will be touring the US this
October - November. This is a great show for the whole family,
combining music, dance, and theater."

styles - Josh Groban, Yanni, Michael Flatley, Ottmar Leibert."

Grass roots: "Music brought me out here - LA is the Mecca for
music. One day, I was driving and flipping through the radio
and this Spanish guitar caught my ear and that was it. I said
I can do that. I taught myself guitar. I learned from using my
ear and just listening to other artists. I started performing
on the streets of Southern California and renting out
performing art theaters and selling my own tickets. Now we're
doing national tours."

... on HIMSELF

Strengths: "I'm very honest, if I say something, I do it.
That's one of my better qualities. I'm really focused. I don't
know if that's good or bad, sometimes. You need to balance
everything. I love to set goals and I love challenges. The
bigger the challenge, the more I want to do it. Because of my
upbringing in the Midwest I think it's helped me be more down
to earth and less impressed by the "Hollywood Scene."

Weakness: "I think sometimes I get too focused. It limits my
free time."

Others may not see: "I think once people meet me, they know
what I'm about."

Interests: "I love to travel. I love seeing different acts,
music, theater, anything cultural. The Arts. I like anything
outdoors - tennis, hiking, or just a drive along the beach."

Turn ons: "Anything that's creative, innovative, unique, in
other people. I love meeting different people from different
cultures. That's a big turn on. I think it's very interesting.
I love people with a good sense of humor, that's a big turn on
for me."

Turn offs: "People who don't look into your eyes when they're
talking to you."

Awards: "We won an Emmy for our PBS Special "Nights of Fire!"
- Best costume and wardrobe. "Nights of Fire!" won 2006 New
Age Album of the Year - New Age Reporter Magazine."

Charities: "We do a lot for Make A Wish and Garden of Angels.
Debbie Ferris started this group. She takes abandoned babies
they find in dumpsters and she'll give them a burial, she'll
name them. She has a little cemetery out there in the
Redlands. We do their benefits, just try to raise awareness."

Travels: "I try to go to research music. Europe, Spain, Italy,
France, Rio, Brazil. I just went to Cuba, Tahiti. I love
traveling to another country and experience the music,
culture, and people - then I'll write a cd with the flavor of
that country or region - Cuba, Spain, Europe, Brazil,
Mediterranean. Growing up in cornfields I always dreamed of
exotic places and longed to travel."

Spirituality: "You have to believe, you have to have faith.
It's basically the golden rule, if you follow that, I think
you're good. You have to have certain morals and certain
ethics because it's like karma, everything that goes around,
comes around. That is true. You try to learn from everything.
I surround myself with people who have similar ideas and
values."

Fashion sense: "My show "Nights of Fire!" just won the Emmy
for best costume and wardrobe, so I like to joke we're the
best dressed band in the world. I like Mark Nason boots, Prada
sunglasses, and of course Cavalli, Docle, and Armani - but
sometimes nothing beats jeans and a T-shirt."

Staying healthy: "I try to work out everyday - whether it's
the treadmill or tennis - I try to eat healthy too."

What touches my soul: "Anything with genuine emotion. I'm
somewhat sentimental, I hate to say it, but yeah I am. I'm
sensitive. I think a lot of artists we wear our heart out
there, it's always out there. I am guarded, but you still have
to open up."

Attention-getters: "Her body language. You can tell a lot by
body language. A beautiful smile gets me too."

Ideal woman: "It's more of how they carry themselves. I like a
strong woman, someone who has a really good sense of humor,
someone I can imagine being a really good friend. I like a
woman who's independent, has a good balance of her life too,
but I also like to spend a lot of time with someone I'm with.
Even just going to get groceries, or stuff like that."

I can't resist a woman who "love's to live life to it's
fullest and is spontaneous."

Ideal date: "Sometimes I don't have a lot of time to spend
with someone so I'll try to make it as special as I can. I'll
plan a surprise date, something special, out of the ordinary.
Just going someplace fun and hanging out. I love being with
someone and having private time with them. A nice dinner where
we could sit and talk and get to know each other."

couldn't stop laughing."

mystery, you have to keep it new. And definitely keep doing

the same thing day after day - my life is really crazy

Making my mark: "I'm living the dream…being able to make music
that has an impact on people's lives. Music has been my

Responsibility to society: "I think we try to educate. That's
why I travel to different parts of the world to find out about
different music cultures, different instruments, different
rhythms. What moves other people. And I try to bring a piece
of that back and educate people on different music they would
not normally hear or see."

Are you a role model: "Yes - I didn't take "no" as an answer.
When every club in Los Angeles turned my band down I started
performing on the streets and because of great fan support I'm
able to tour nationally."

Valuable life lesson: "Nothing's perfect but there are perfect
moments."

like 2-3 kids."
I'm doing exactly what I love to do ... performing and touring
- when the right person comes along I'd like to start a
