Oy, you were born on Novemeber 8, too? somethingexcellent and myself have the same birthday (hope he doesn't mind me saying this!). As for your question.. Personally, I haven't found decans to be very important. Some October Scorpios are definitely more "Scorpionic" than any others but it can be said about other Scorps born in November, and late November.. It's just, not very reliable, you know? The rest of the chart will tell you more about the person and how Scorpionic they are, especially the ASC and its condition ime.

also i'd like your perspective on how you use your scorpio/pluto energy and revengefulness since you have pluto conjunct sun, like me. When someone hurts you, do you get revenge, like second nature? or do you inflict your sting to yourself, and let fate punish them? The sting inwards is representing the grey lizard aspect which is in between the ideals of a soaring eagle and the earth bound scorpion. I'm really stuck in a grey lizard where im more neurotic, I'm afraid of transformation, and i sting myself with pluto energy all day instead of outwards. I want to transform into the eagle but i cant, unless i get revenge. then all my emotional baggage is lifted off me. IP: Logged |

[Get ready, this is extra long!]I don't have a Sun/Pluto conjunction.. unless you count 9° conjunctions (I don't). I have Mars/Pluto conjunct though, both square Saturn and square Moon (a T square). Um, revenge.. I was definitely the grey lizard type, fantasizing about it but hurting myself instead. I could never "act" on it in big ways. So instead, all my pain, resentment and anger were turned inwards, which created a deep sense of self-loathing, self-destructive tendencies, depression, self-harm, etc. I used to hate others, and hate myself. It was terrible and very difficult to get out of. My past is filled with negative patterns and I don't like thinking about it because I have changed so much lately, I can't - and don't - want to relate to it anymore. I no longer want revenge, and I no longer hold grudges. I forgive people (or at least it feels like I do) and just let it go. Actually, I bless them whenever I think about them. Any person who has ever done me wrong, I just send them positive/loving thoughts and wish them well. It's much easier to move on that way, and stop the negativity. Of course first you have to face your emotions related to them, so what I did is write them a letter, or talk to them (in my head or even out loud) and tell them how they made me feel, why I feel the way I do, etc. (they weren't present physically but you get the idea). It's quite cathartic and usually you can't help but cry because that's how emotions come out. You have to surrender and feel the pain instead of getting angry/hold a grudge. Once you've expressed your emotions, you can move on to a higher perspective - the one that accepts and lets go.
What helped me reach this point is spirituality. I have read a lot about it, and it's the only way I can get to the "eagle" stage. I have to focus on my soul, and the souls of other people, to truly understand what's going on, and to realize how futile some things are in this life. It gives a bigger picture on everything and makes it so much easier to just let go and feel peaceful.
I didn't force this transformation, though. It happened, I believe, because I was ready. And it's a very good thing! I'm glad I'm out of the negative mentality related to people and myself. Of course I get negative sometimes but I try to quickly go back to inner peace and the bigger picture.
I have North Node in Sagittarius and South Node in the 12th, so it's only natural for me to try and seek out the spiritual side to everything. It may be different for you, but I'm sure a bit of soul searching won't do you wrong.

I swear Astrology and Numerology are kissing cousins; much of what I "miss" in astrology is pointed out very clearly in numerological analysis.1-Sun(Fire) 2-Moon(Water) 3-Jupiter(Fire) 4-Saturn(Air)/Uranus 5-Mercury(Air and Earth) 6-Venus(Air and Earth) 7-Jupiter(Water)/Neptune 8-Saturn(Earth) 9-Mars(Water and Fire)/Pluto Before you even look at the chart, look at the number sequence of the individual's birth details and study the numbers individualy and then collectively; starting with the year of birth, Month and then day. Personaly, I tend to add all of them up and this gives me an idea of what the "collective" energy of the individual is. I've noticed that any sign born under the collective number 5 has strong Mercurial qualities(whether the person be a Scorpion, Capricorn or Pisces). A Gemini-renowned for being light and flighty-may feel himself misunderstood if he is more morose than what is expected. But if he is born on the 8th of June 1988, he is carrying strong Saturn energy(both their day of birth and Year vibrates to serious Saturn) and so his "morose" qualities may be legitimate. And when you add the numbers of this Gemini up, you find that the collective energy is "4"(another Saturn number). So this Gemini will appear very Capricorn-like in personality.He/She will probably like being in the company of Capricorn-like personalities. Numerology has all sorts of terms for it ; like "Life path number" "Destiny number" etc. I have no idea what all that means but I do recognize the concept. Sometimes you'll have a number recurr in the birthdate like mine; 1983/12/21. Since 3 is repeated 3 times, that is a lot of Jupiter energy that comes through. The addition of all those numbers is 9(ruled by Mars/Pluto-the fighter, the enthuisiast, the healer, the compassionate one and liberator) But it is also clear that from the birth details alone, someone like me would feel at home with Mars-ruled Scorpio/ Aries and Sagittarians alike. What does your birth date add up to? Go wild with this and research the planet the number is said to "rule". You may be suprised what you find. IP: Logged |

^Interesting. And you are so cool, Doux. I think each decan showcases one of the main attributes of Scorpio. In my experience, the Pluto prominence of the first decan is unmistakeable. If someone jabs me in a Pluto way, kind of out of the blue, I assume "first decan Scorpio" and have been right, the few times I was able to get a birthday. Second decan's affiliation with Pisces/12H gives them depth and makes them kind of submerged...they epitomize Scorpio's reach into the dark. Third decan has Cancer/moon intuition. Sensitive to the point of psychic. IP: Logged |

So, I'm a 3rd Decan Scorpio. What does that mean??? I know I'm a Scorpio/Cancer, but.Wait, so 2nd Decan Scorpios are more Scorpionic??? Can't a person be even more Scorpionic than a Scorpio Sun??? Let's not forget about aspects and houses now. I mean, let's be real. ------------------ Rising: Virgo Sun: _____ Moon: _____ IP: Logged |

I'm 3rd decan, too.I think it does make us sensitive. It's not very good for me because I also have Cancer rising so other people's moods affect me more than I want. I also have some weird moods. IP: Logged |

The first decan of Scorpio is the Scorpio/Pluto decan. So one could argue that it is somewhat "more Scorpio" than the other two decans. quote: Originally posted by k e p h x i: Can't a person be even more Scorpionic than a Scorpio Sun??? I don't know why you seem annoyed. Are you thinking it's a contest? Everything happens by degrees. If you have a Scorpio sun, that's very "Scorpionic." Obviously if your sun is in your 8H, conjunct your moon, Mercury, Pluto, and NN, you are even more Scorpionic. I am "off the charts" Plutonian according to astrologer Donna Cunningham, but I do not consider myself as Scorpionic as any Scorpio sun, no matter what their other placements are. But I think it always boils down to opinions. IP: Logged |

From a Gemini male perspective I find them intriguing. They have Libra traits so we can connect, then comes the Scorpio side which comes the intuition side. My former boss was a Scorpio with a Libra mix we got along when she acted like a libra, but she would always have an intuitive edge on me. IP: Logged |

Agree about Astrology & Numerology. The specific day (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc...) a person was born will for sure color their personality, and fine tune the type of Scorpio they are. Odd numbers are masculine, even numbers are feminine. #2 is an odd number, this makes it feminine; gentle, receptive, approachable, attractive. #2 is also the number of peace, harmony, cooperation, partnership, etc. October Scorpios, with the exception of those born on the 30th & the 31st, will have the #2 as the first number in their personality. October Scorpios born in the 20s will for sure have that wonderful #2 sheen to them, far far removed from the dark and scary Pluto/bottom-dweller mythos. IP: Logged |

^^Saturn, as ruler of the # 8, rules your personality. You're a Scorpio with a practical and serious personality. IP: Logged |

Hello... It is funny I had been trying to do the same thing along with incorporating the name aspects also. I didn't think about the planetary elements. My birthday is 11/06/1992 So 11 is simplified to 2 which is the Moon 6 is represented by Venus 1992 is simplified to 3 which is represented by Jupiter 2+6+3 = 11 which is equal to 2 which brings us back to a Lunarian energy. But why when it comes to love I prefer earthy people with some air in their charts That would explain why I tend to love those who are water signs and fire people are also people who I love to talk to. If you were to do something similar with your name, do you think that it will also explain that? I think it would. IP: Logged |

The funny thing about me happens to be that I have a first decan Scorpio ascendant with the Sun being second decan Scorpio with a third decan Pluto and to add on I had a third decan Mars in Cancer and a third decan Pisces moon. I mean all of those being personal planets, I can't relate to the intense description either.
The Breakdown goes like this ASC ---> 9 30 Scorpio, Pluto (Scorpio) decan Sun ---> 14 19 Scorpio, Neptune (Pisces) decan Moon ---> 29 02 Pisces, Pluto(Scorpio)decan Mars ---> 24 29 Cancer, Neptune (Pisces) decan With that being said, it is clear that I am also very Neptunian and Plutonian in relation to decan but don't feel very Plutonian at all. I am still lost when it comes to me being Plutonian but I am probably so Plutonic that I don't notice it... I guess it is the frustration of being in two decans of the same sign. IP: Logged | |
