What astrological trends have you noticed in polyamorous couples or swingers? My husband and I are JUST waking up to us being into it - (Edited as requested) My bestie pointed out that it was our Gemini and Libran traits that make the swinger's life style so engaging for us. I'm a Cancer with a Cancer moon, but my sun and moon are opposed by Saturn and Uranus. Combined with my 8th house Gemini, it strips away my subjectivity emotionally and makes me much more objective. My husband is a Virgo with a Gemini Moon with a gross of heavily Mercurial traits, so it makes him extremely, extremely Libra. His natal Libra Mars makes him in 'love' with the attention of multiple partners anyway. His 8th is also in Leo, so you can imagine how that manifests sexually. We're sexually polyamorous but we're very emotionally monogamous, however. My Cancer Moon and Taurus 7th and his Venus Scorpio and Cancer 7th want a 'mate for life' and he's expressed to me that I'm the only person that can nurture and fulfill a relationship for him emotionally. I was looking around online and I've heard people mention that having an abundance of Uranian/Aquarian or general airy traits brings a poly interest out of them. What do you guys think? IP: Logged |

Interesting. You are onto something I think, because I remember looking through the astro data bank and finding the "swingers" natal files. There was a dominant presence of Air Suns Gemini, Libra, then Aquarius and Scorpio. And I believe they had strong air in general in their natal, but I couldn't tell you the specific placement besides the Sun. IP: Logged |

I'd be open to exploring this, but so far all the guys I've been with have not been cool with the idea of me being with another guy... If I'm ever in a relationship where the both of us feel secure in our commitment to one another, I would be open to experimenting with other couples for sure! I have Sun and Ascendant conjunct Uranus in Sag, Moon in Aries trine Uranus, Mars in Aqua sextile Uranus. Tilda Swinton is or was in a polyamorous relationship.. I posted all the details somewhere, but I can't find it now! Anyway, Uranus was prominent in the synastry and composite of her and her main man. IP: Logged |

nah. to answer your question. Id depends on the total vibe of the chart. The Uranian-Air is a high chance depending on the mindset of the person. I know a Uranian guy who would NEVER do that thoIP: Logged |

First, polyamory and swinging are 2 different things (though one can do both). Polyamory is having more than one loving and intimate (typically emotional as well as sexual) at a time (where everyone involved knows about it of course, otherwise it's cheating) whereas swinging is more recreational and merely sexual (where partners trade with each other, or possibly join together) without the relationship. Swingers may know each other or may even meet at a club (or even through online classifieds like Craigslist) with aliases.Second, I'd guess air signs. Those I knew who were polyamorous (and often any alternative sexual lifestyle) were often heavy with the air (not counting the self-destructive), though IIRC a Sag or Libra Uranus (also Sag Eros) can contribute to that as well (but so many with this placement don't). I would guess this is because they can be a lot more impartial and detach more (not to say they can't love, they just don't get as tangled up in their feelings as others do). I also can't help but notice that the polyamorous tend to have a lot of self-esteem rather than insecurity (so placements promoting or interfering with that might matter, too), and I don't think that's a coincidence (I haven't noticed the same thing among swingers or practitioners of group sex, however). PJ made good points! Like kerosene, I'd be open to swinging not poly.. I don't want all the emotional stuff, just the physical. IP: Logged |

^ Yeah... Multiple relationships would be complicated. I feel like polyamory would be more of a libra/aqua thing and swinging a gemini trait/ IP: Logged |

I would think Uranus since Uranus governs things different from society... And maybe I'd look to the Fifth House, and possibly Seventh House.IP: Logged |

Hmm, neither is appealing to me.I can love several people at the same time, but not in a romantic relationship context. And swinging? Not my cup of tea. So I my chart must be pretty much contain the opposite "make up". I blame it on my Venus in Capricorn squaring Pluto. IP: Logged |
