Pisces usually stick with Scorpio and Taurus.Aries seem to get along well with Cancer,Capricorn and Virgo.Aquas and Leos get along pretty well.Sag and Geminis also get along very well.

I don’t think fire-air signs are generally better friends,they are definitely more social than earth-water but that does not really make them better friends.

So actually it seems to me, that maybe in synastry opposites attract,but when it comes to friendships we tend to stick to similar elements/quality signs?

An old friend, I unfortunately have no contact to at the moment, had a stellium of Sun, Moon, Venus in Aquarius, falling onto my Moon.

One of my most trusted friends is an Aquarius, as well; and also has her Sun (and Saturn) conjunct my Moon.

I seem to have an inclination to airy friends (though I am pretty picky when it comes to whoever I call friend).

When two Saggies chat it is some off of the wall stuff..

Virgos always surprised me as friends but what I think why it happens is due to Virgos enjoying being lighthearted on occasion.

He called his mom and so I got to learn his birthtime.

His Sun-Moon-MC is conjunct my Sun-Mercury, all from 25-28 Sagittarius.

I`ve NEVER done such a thing before: heck a minute before I did not even KNOW I would be doing that, asking a total stranger for his birthtime. lol
Something about the vibe of him, or between us made me do this. And I am REALLY withdrawn and shy, usually.

For a while some of my closest friends were Scorpios and Gemini's. But those friendships never lasted. But friends I've endured the long hall with tend to be Aries, Virgos, Capricorns and Aquarius sun signs. I love them all. Straightforward and honest types, and always there for you. One of my best friends is an Aries Sun, Capricorn Moon.

I'm never close to other Leos and Sagittarius friendships are very short-lived. I guess I am too boring for them. :P Any other sign is just meh. At one time I did have Pisces buddies but we drift apart too after a while, not unlike Sagittarius.

Other Leo suns, I like em, especially if they're female. It's like I innately get where they're coming from. I don't like Leo Moons or Leo Ascendants though, all the ones I've encountered always embody all the negative things you hear about Leos.

I love Aquarius sun people and tend to have an instant bond/rapport with them. Probably because my ascendant and south node are in Aquarius. Aquarius moons I dislike and I find them too cold - they seem to have little to no empathy, at least the ones I've known. They're like machines. I've had conversations with some where I found myself actually having to explain why they should care what happens to other people. It was surreal, and then I found myself going, "I don't think they're even capable of it", because they seemed genuinely confused and like what I was saying was a totally different language.

Sags in general I dislike. Doesn't matter whether it's the sun moon or ascendant. There's a lack of empathy there with them too like Aqua moons, only Sag people think their lack of empathy is "funny" and endearing.

Geminis I generally dislike also. To me they also have a lack of empathy but in a flippant way, like they just don't care and are more interested in finding constant stimulation in one form or another for themselves. I don't like the way either that they all seem to feel it's everyone else' job to entertain and amuse THEM. Every single one I've encountered (barring my mom) whether it was the sun moon ascendant or inner planets...is this way.They always give off this energy that's like "Well? Impress me, amaze me, delight me and astound me" and they actually expect you to stand on your head for them and then if you don't do it they'll snap that you're boring and go stomping off to find someone else that actually is willing to jump those hoops for them.

Of those signs, I feel super close to the first three. I am close to all of the above mentioned signs, but the degree of closeness I have with the first three is different. My fellow scorp friend is like my soul twin. I feel a different kind of connection with both my male and female Aries friends. I have maintained a 5-year long distance friendship with my Gemini friend.

It's an odd mixture of personalities, but being comfortable with barely more than half of the signs is probably due to the Gemini/Sagittarius influence in me (gemini asc, chart ruler in sag).

I have exactly one Gemini and one Aquarius in my wider social circle. Aside from that, I can't say that I get on particularly well with air-sign Suns. Not badly, either, mind you. Just...meh. Nothing to talk about. At all. Ever.

Lately I've been attracting Sags and I've kind of played down my boisterous personality in order to keep them around. I don't know how they tick very well so this is kind of new and experimental to me! I'm a happy go lucky person but Sags are very smart and if you're not whip smart I feel they get bored. It intimidates me a lot. However, I have to remember they're great BSers too!
