Soulmates come into our lives to teach us lessons- help our souls grow. Sometimes they are romantic, other times they might be a best friend, or a complete stranger.

My questions is: what type of synastry would you find in a soulmate platonic relationship..like maybe a best friend or a neighbor or teacher or something (basically non-romantic)?

I'm thinking there will still be NN, saturn, pluto, vertex contacts...aspects to the fate asteroids: fortuna, destinn, karma, tyche and alma

Any other ideas/aspects I didn't mention?

Those aspects you mentioned are also present in Twinsoul relationships too. Not just soulmates. I have those with my Twinsoul.

I think if they're present with no real Venus or Mars aspects in the synastry or composite, then it would point to something being more platonic than romantic or sexual.

Great topic tgem!

I have a perfect example of this for you:

My dad was my absolute best friend while he was alive. To the point that it made my mother jealous of our relationship. It's a bit messy because I selected "aspect lines to all," but here's the synastry between my dad and I:

Moon trine Venus DW
His NN Opp my Sun/Merc
His Vertex opp my NN
Not to mention all the tight aspects between asteroids/angles..

He didn't have to be my dad, he chose to take me in. He was my great-uncle by marriage only, but he loved me and cared for me as his own daughter and I never could have wished for a better man to be my father

@ Loinfish what a beautiful relationship! Thank you so much for sharing this!

@ Snorkel I agree with you. I am curious though, how did you know you had found your actual twinflame and not just a "soulmate?" How did you know the difference?

Of course It fit perfectly with your topic.
I know he was one of my soul mates. The synastry shows it, but more so, the connection between us was unshakable. Nobody ever could have guessed in a million years that I wasn't his daughter, I even looked enough like him that it was never questioned even though we shared no blood whatsoever.

I've been told the story of how I came to live with my great aunt and uncle many times by the different family members that were there that day, including my biological mother. It went something like this (keep in mind I'd NEVER had a dad in my life up to this point):
14-month-old me was asked if I wanted these people to be my "mommy and daddy" after they had spent a few months coming over every day, taking me out for the day or taking me for sleep-overs, basically giving us time to get to know each other. I only spoke two words at that point: kiki (kitty lol) and cream (ice cream/popsicle) but when I was asked that life changing question, I apparently went to my uncle and climbed in his lap and told him "Daddy!" while I snuggled up to him. I suppose it was all the answer my family needed.

And no, I don't think they were leaving the fate of my life up to the decision of a baby that day, but I do believe that if I'd had a negative reaction that it would have taken longer for the change to happen. My great-aunt (who couldn't have her own babies which is why they adopted me) loves to tell me that story and honestly I love to hear it. It reminds me that the love in my little family was there because we all wanted it to be, not because it HAD to be because of some social/public standard.

I still love him with all my heart and I will to the end of my days

Trust me...you just know. I knew it from the first time I laid eyes on him, and I had to be 3 or 4 at the time, so what would I have known about twinsouls or much else around that time? Since then I've also met some people that I'm sure are soulmates, but they definitely aren't my twinsoul; that's a totally different beast entirely.

Astrologically in my synastry with my twinsoul it pans out also - we have all the heavy markers along with a lot of really weird asteroid placements and it all carries over into Helio and Draconic too. Just really weird astrology on things, all the way around; it just confirmed what I knew right from the beginning.

My boss is a soulmate, non romantic of course..

I love my boss, he is like a father to me....

I'm totally loyal to him... I've stuck with him for 8 yrs now...
Other departments have asked me to move, and my answer is no I stay with my boss, I'm not leaving him...

Once he retires in 3 to 5 yrs... I'll leave...

He has Pluto in Leo, dead on my sun, moon, mercury.
Which sextiles his Neptune.

We have moon trine Venus
Both way Venus, Jupiter
His Uranus connects my venus

Me and one of my best friends have his moon in virgo conjunct mine in leo, a loose venus conj mars, a loose venus conjunct moon, moon square pluto, sun opposite jupiter, and a love stellium conjunct the moon and mars, all squared by saturn and pluto in composite.

I had a love stellium square pluto and saturn with my ex.

So it's interesting to look at why i was attracted to my ex and not to him. I had a loose sun conjunct moon, and a sun trine moon with my ex. A loose venus conjunct mars (same orb as with my friend), moon square pluto, and sun square jupiter and mars.

Though i believe the difference is subtle, it is actually a big difference. I had dw sun-moon with the ex. Plus i also had sun square mars which is added sexual attraction. Sun-moon dw is pretty compelling, romantically speaking.

I could see myself dating my friend, just becaus its not too difficult to imagine dating anyone you have a love stellium with since there's so much affection and positive feelings between you. But, it wouldnt be anything like it was with the ex, where the attraction was immediate, mutual, and strong.

From grupovenus.com

Sun Mutually Aspects Moon
The two of you are drawn to each other like magnets, and you may find that you keep bumping into each other even if you are not trying to. If you are not married yet, then there is a good chance that you will in the future because the attractions between you are extremely powerful. You understand and appreciate each other to an exceedingly high degree, and you are likely to have felt an instant connection when you first met each other.

It's interesting to note as well, that moon in aspect to pluto in synastry plays a big role in intimacy and passion imo. Any time you have that with someone in synastry you feel very close to them, especially the square or opposition. I also had sun in neg aspect jupiter with both in synastry, and that's important because no jupiter aspect is a bad aspect..everyone needs some laughter and happiness in their lives.
